Black and White Wednesday

These are Moon Flowers. - Several of you have mentioned that these resemble other plants by the name of Datura or Angel Trumpets.  Turns out they are all one and the same plant.   Just a lot of different names for them.  Apparently they are also poisonous plants.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's fun to see how different things look in Black and White compared to Color.  Hope you've enjoyed these lovely blooms.

Now for the colored versions:

  1. Beautiful shots. The flower looks like a datura (highly poisonous), which have the most exquisite scent in the evening. Take care xx

  2. They are both beautiful. I started showing both versions because a reader consistently asked for both versions.

  14. Ida ~ These are just beautiful! Your photography is amazing, wow, those close ups!
I love the way flower closes up. These are the things that so glorify our great God.
His creation is awesome in deed.
I haven't been around for some time, so I took the time to scroll down and visit awhile. Oh I'm so glad I did! Your little Bandit is precious! I am sure he is warming your heart after the loss of your other cat. You can certainly see that he is content in a home that shows great love. :)

I see you have a new icon photo, lovely.
It's good to visit with you dear Ida.
Have a beautiful day ~ Debbie

  15. I really like the comparison between the black and white and the colors. I had a moon flower one year. Such a pretty flower.

  17. Lovely photos, Ida. The plant looks like a white version of Morning Glory, which is a glorious purple and grows wild here on the Costa Brava. All the best, Bonny

  22. Oh my goodness Ida! I am absolutely in love with your moon flowers :) I try to grow them every year on my garden fence to no avail. Next year, I'm thinking of trying a different method of growing them in a hanging basket so the vines hang downwards instead of climbing up. Something, usually a garden critter eats my baby plants before they get a chance to grow. I love seeing your garden success with these beautiful flowers, gives me hope. Thank you for sharing!

  23. I do like the name Angel Trumpets, more fitting for them in my opinion.
I absolutely love your black and white version. I need to try that on some of my photo's.
