Friday Fun - April 6, 2018

Welcome!  - It's been a rainy first week of April here in "Wally-World" but it's better than snow so I can't complain.

Tom (The Backroads Traveler) has taken over:
WILLY-NILLY FRIDAY FIVE and I'm joining in on the fun today.

I'll also be joining Comedy Plus for FELINE FRIDAY and

McGuffy's Reader for FRIENDLY-FILL INS - Just click on the links to be taken to the party.

Starting off with Willy-Nilly Friday Five:

1.  Every time I've driven by this sign I've wanted to get a picture of it.  I just happened to have my camera with me one day last week and the light was red so I snapped a quick photo.

Do you see what's "Funny" about the sign? -  Next time your seafood "sits up" you might want to run.

2.  Took a drive the other day.  Spotted these deer (there were two others out of this shot) resting in some one's yard.

3.  Drove up to Bennington Lake, the water is really low as they haven't filled it yet.  Saw this Heron though and managed to get close enough for a few shots before it flew off.

4.  They finally opened up Rooks Park and I thought this pretty blooming tree looked so "spring like" that I had to take a few pictures.  The bees were enjoying the blooms.

5.  Coleen likes to wear clothes that don't match (it's her quirky style) - This was the PJ ensemble she had on yesterday morning.

Colorful huh?

For Feline Friday a cat I spotted while out on a walk this week during one of the few times it wasn't raining.

I'm being watched very carefully.

Friendly Fill-Ins:

The statements:

Week 100: April 6, 2018
1.                       is one of my                            .
2. I                        to                          .
3. I have a hard time                        .
4.                is easy for me.

My Answers:

1.  People who let their dogs poop on your yard is one of my pet peeves.  - Saw this happen last night to our neighbors yard.  How hard is it to carry a clean-up bag and pick it up!

2.  I like to listen to my Friends CD's to help me go to sleep.  I know them by heart after listening to them so much.

3.  I have a hard time getting motivated to do anything these days.  I need a vacation!

4. In lieu of my answer to number 3...Procrastinating is easy for me!  - Eventually though I get out of my funk and get things done.

That's it for me this time around.  Hope you have enjoyed your stay.  Leaving you with a song...

  1. Nice looking kitty.

I don't like it when people don't pick up after their pets either. It's rude.

Have a purrfect Feline Friday and a a great weekend. ♥

  2. #1 I'm awful at proofreading, I read what I expect it to say!
#2 Looks like my neck of the woods, there are deer everywhere.
#3 I saw a Heron this week too.
#4 The only white that I'm seeing is snow!
    #5 Quirky for sure!
Enjoy your Lazy Day! Thanks for stopping by.

  3. Love that blossom. It reminds me of the pear tree we used to have in our back yard. I also have a hard time getting motivated lately.

  12. I'm no good at those 'choose your own live fish' restaurants at the best of times. Much as I love fish if mine was to 'sit up' I'd freak!
    Happy Weekend.

  14. Hello Ida! So good to drop in for a visit with you! It's raining here today, and rather than working in my garden, I'm getting to catch up on blog posts, and it is a lovely way to spend the afternoon! So good to see signs of spring in your area with the beautiful blooms at the park! And that sweet kitty face, she certainly was watching you quite carefully, lol! It is this "springter" season that I too find hard to get motivated in. I love the snow but when it is gone, everything is dull and brown, and not much pretty to look at. Can't wait for all the blooms to start soon! I have tulips coming up in my garden, and it won't be long now :) Your sweet Colleen has a fun style for sure, very colorful indeed! Have a blessed and lovely weekend! Oh... did you see that Stephanie has her tea exchange open again for the spring, last day for registration will be Sunday. Hugs!

  15. Hello Ida!:) I like Colleens Quirky Style. When I was a girl, I experimented all the time with colour. The quirky sign is confusing though. Still don't know what it means, must be missing something!! Lovely nature shots! I would love to go a drive and see deer,...how peaceful they look.:) Also super kitty photo. Have a happy weekend!:)

  17. I don't like it either when people allow their dogs to mess in my yard and not pick it up, disrespectful. And I love the picture of the deer around the tree. Blessings

  19. Hi Ida
It has been a rough winter/spring for us and my motivation has been waning too. I'm glad I have last summer's vacation to write about. Loved your five--the deer are so sweet and your daughter's style is fun!

  20. the funny thing is i was talking to my Mom the other day about similar style? i don't know why but something about it ... it works ... why? i don't honestly know but something about it just goes ... well at least to me it does ... i love weirdness in folks ... u tell her that she should keep going on. i appreciate it. (moving on to next topic...) do you think the restaurant meant to do that? or was it a misspelling situation? i wonder??! these days you never know. i wonder how kids learn to spell when so many folks are shorten thing and just usually different spelling of words ... i am curious?? ( ;

  23. Lovely photos! You've got good eyes: I had to look at the Seafood Satupday and wouldn't have noticed at all if you hadn't given me a prompt. Great shot of the heron btw, and love Coleen's rebel taste in fashion. Good for her!

  24. I do love Coleen's quirky style...I went to school with a girl like that. And though I could not do it, I did admire that she wore what she wanted to wear. An my close friends would wear mismatched socks--on purpose. A lot of the time after P.E.they would trade a sock in order to have mismatched socks.

As for dogs pooping in other's yard...my daughter had a neighbor that would bring her dog out and walk to the edge of her yard and let her dog poop in my daughter;s yard. And there Lorelei was little at that time. Daughter started just throwing it back in her yard when she mowed the yard...then one day, that lady came home when daughter was dumping it out...she finally quit.

I wanted her to let me see her out there and I would have taken her a bag and told her to clean it up...that just infuriated me. She did not have kids...but would do that to someone that had a small child, plus, there would be extra kids there.
