Happy Friday! - Hope you all enjoy your visit here today. So let's get started with the fun. - Click to enlarge photos.
CAPTION THIS: Last weeks winner is.........
Annie from McGuffy's Reader who came up with this fun caption. Congrats Annie you will be in the running for the monthly prize.
Here is this weeks photo
You'll have until Thursday 12:01 PM (7/3) to send in your caption. Leave in the comment section please. Have fun. - Thanks again to everyone who sent in some really fun captions.
Last week I did 5 photos with a particular theme. I asked you to guess what it was. For those who guessed, (Light) you were correct. There were a few who thought it was (Texture). This week it's really "obvious" what my theme is.
1. We haven't seen much of this this summer. In fact we probably won't see any of it for several more weeks. We are having a "heat wave" here right now. (Photo from Archives)
For your listening pleasure here is a song that I heard a lot as a child.
2.
Waves in Lincoln City - (Photo from Archives)
Check out these movies that deal with today's theme. How many of them have you seen?
3.
One of the fountains from the new Splash Pad that opened here earlier this month.
Check out these water parks: I went to one once and went down one of those tube things and vowed...."Never Again."
4.
Small water fall at Bonneville Dam (Archive Photo) - For more waterfall fun check out this sight for the top 100 Water Falls in the US.
5.
Another shot of the water fountain at Whitman College (Archive Photo)
Check out this video of the Fountains at Longwood Gardens. I had the pleasure of visiting here many years ago and getting "kicked out" of one of the fountains. You can't wade in them!
Bonus shot: I've been trying to keep the lawn green this summer so have been running the sprinkler a lot. I decided to shoot this in BW just for the fun of it.
If you guessed....WATER today you would be correct. If you guessed anything else you must not be paying attention!
Oh for FELINE ART today I took an old photo of our sweet departed Eric and cartoonized it and added a frame. I still miss him very much.
Notice it also fits the "water" theme.
I sure wish those of you who've had rain (not floods) but rain would send a little our way.
Can you see those temps? - I think I'll go take a cool bath.
Welcome! - Okay let's get started on the fun. Make not that there are several Memes featured here so if you don't see the one you are looking for keep scroll down.
CAPTION THIS - This is my own little "thing" that I've started doing. Each week I post a photo and ask people to give it a Caption (you do this in the comment section) - Then next week I post the name of the person who gave the best caption. At the end of the month those 4 winner go into a Poll to pick the winning caption for that month. That person will receive a prize from me.
I had a hard time picking a winner so I ended up cutting up the captions and picking a winner by having someone draw one of the captions out. They were all so good this time (way to go people).
So here is this weeks Caption This photo:
You have until 12:00 am on Thursday (25th) to leave your caption. Have fun.
Today will be a bit different for me. I generally include links about the stuff I post but that will not be the case today for all the photos. Instead I have a little "theme" going on with the photos. You get to see if you can guess what it is. (No prize though for the correct guess) :o(
1.
The neighbors house across the street - Yes I (spy) on people. Just kidding.
2.
Feathers from one of the colorful Phesant in our Parks Aviary.
3.
Green maples leaves
4.
Clematis vines in a neighbors yard (Yep, I'm spying again.)
5.
Power pole lines in front of my mom's house.
6. - Bonus photo - Same theme though.
Another neighbors trees.
Okay what do you think I was going for with these photos?
Welcome! - It's time to join Theresa for her wonderful meme: GOOD FENCES.
I just love to drive around town and look for fences. You never know what you'll find.
Coleen and I spotted this fence while on one of our fence hunt trips.
I guess even a garden needs a cute little white picket fence.
Don't forget to stop by The Run-a-round Ranch Report blog and check out lots more Good Fences.
Also there is still time to add a caption for last weeks CAPTION THIS - See this post and leave a comment on that post (not this one) with your caption.
I'll announce the winning caption tomorrow and at the end of the month a poll will be up to vote on the best caption. That person will win a $10 Gift Cert. to Zazzle.
Happy Wednesday. - A couple of weekends ago we took Coleen out to attend an event where they were offering FREE rides to kids in airplanes. She's never flown in a plane before so this was the perfect opportunity for her to see what flying is like. It was sponsored by a group called, YoungEagles.org.
Her flying buddies (Alex and Alexander) who she just met and I cajoled into posing for a photo for me.
The Pilot helping her into the plane.
Headgear on and ready to go.
Slow taxi down the runway.
Just about to lift off.
We have take-off.
Up, Up and Away.
Coming in for the landing.
Touchdown.
Incoming and Outgoing.
One happy flyer. She wanted to go again but afte waiting over an hour for her turn to get on and a huge crowd of kids waiting for their flight we told her she'd have to wait until the next time they offered free rides.
