Spring blooms abound around here right now.
Sadly her French Lilac did not fair the winter very well and had very few blooms this year.
My Azalea's have been wonderful. I love this White/Yellow one. It's just so cheery and pretty.
I also love Snowball bushes, though I don't actually have any of my own. This is from a nearby neighbors bush.
We've also had Ducklings visit this month.
I took some pictures and really liked this one:
Sadly today mama duck was down to just 1 baby duckling. To many outside cats in the neighborhood.

those ducklings were so sweet. ours are decimated by hawks, we have many hawks.. the lilac is lovely and the snow balls to... and i have not heard of the boomerang bush

ReplyDeleteI've always loved lilacs. I've planted several bushes over the years but can never get them to grow. They've all ended up dead.

Hello Ida....I really love your photo's today....more pretty plants that I want to add to my garden wish list....Lilacs were my Grandmothers favourite flowers! I have never seen those Azaleas....wonder if they are available here in Australia! Love the ducklings....we used to keep an eye on the ones near where we lived and they did start off with a huge number that dwindled down to 2 or 3....you took a fabulous photo of them.

ReplyDeleteI was wondering how the ducklings would fare with all the cats in the neighborhood. The sun is hitting that one duckling in the center perfectly. The boomerang lilac is the only kind that can grow where I live-too hot for the french ones.
ReplyDeleteOh Ida I love the ducklings and I hope the four remaining ones do well. It's a hard life right from the beginning for birds! And your lilacs make me so homesick. (I'm sure I've told you before and you are probably sick of hearing about it -- we don't see Spring flowers -- the normal kind -- here in SW Florida. I haven't seen a lilac in bloom in years. Wonderufl memories.

ReplyDeleteI love lilacs and have 4 of them in my back yard but too early here yet for them to bloom, but I'm looking forward to when they do.
Always such a delight to see what you have in bloom! Also, helps me realize what we should be soon enjoying in our own yard.
ReplyDeleteToo bad about the ducklings. Same thing happened to a friend of mine. 7 ducklings survived one day. That evening they were all gone. Thinking of putting some type of fencing around in the evening if I ever see that again. Would have to keep the mom in, not sure how that would work!

ReplyDeleteAhhhh, poor little duckies! Shame on those cat owners - you're not allowed to let your cat roam free around here. Our cat goes out on a lead line, but we still put a bell on his collar so that he cannot sneak up on any other critters. It's not like he's not well fed - so he doesn't need to hunt like a stray cat would. Poor mama :(
