I have never seen a wood pecker on a beach.. wow... we had one like this in the yard this morning making a big racket pecking on the dead tree along with the cardinals gone crazy singing there songs
I thought I left a comment on this one yesterday, but apparently it didn't post. I just wanted to say how interesting the markings are on this little bird, I've never seen one before! Someone should tell him that he is supposed to be a woodpecker, not a streetpecker! :-)

They are pretty birds but oh boy do they create a racket in the morning when they peck against the wood on a house!
