Scavenger Hunt Sunday - July 8, 2012

It's time once again for Scavenger Hunt Sunday.  Sarah (The Naptime Momtog) is once again hosting for Ashley (Ramblings and Photos) who just had a sweet baby girl.

This weeks prompts:  Patriotic, View From Above, Mosaic, Something Tiny and Vibrant.

I have 2 photos for the first prompt:

What's more Patriotic then, 4th of July Fireworks!  - We bought our own this year since they moved the location of the city display and we didn't want to mess with crowds, or trying to find a parking space etc...I was excited about capturing this shot. Fireworks are hard to shoot and more so with a Point and Shoot camera.

Coleen and Grandma getting in the Patriotic spirit before we had our picnic and fireworks.

Took this shot of Coleen and Cricket this morning.  I actually stood on a chair an shot this while they were playing together on the floor in Cricket's pen.

This next prompt stumped me a little but I finally found something that I think fits the category.

This is a little wooden box that I believe was made by my youngest brother, Roger during one of the Christian Youth Crusader meetings at our church when we were kids.  I think I made one too but have no clue what happened to mine.  This one survived and my mom still has it at her house.  I brought it over for a little photo shoot and did a bit of creative editing on it as well.

Again I've got 2 photo's for the next prompt because I just couldn't decide which one to use.

This "itsy bitsy" spider has made a web out in my front flower bed.  I was so excited about finally getting a decent Macro shot of this small little spider.  It looks pretty big in this picture but size wise it's probably not much larger then this letter, O.

I spotted this tiny little purple flower/weed in our yard and decided it need to be photographed and have it's moment in the spotlight.

I just love all the vibrant color in this shot.  This salad is a recipe from the Barefoot Contessa, Ina Garten.  It's called, Guacamole Salad and can be found here:
It's best to make this early in the day so the flavors have a chance to blend together.
I use Walla Walla Sweet Onions (when in season here) in place of the Red Onion called for in the recipe and add 2 cans of Black Beans.

Don't forget to stop in at Sarah's blog and check out the other entries in the hunt.
