This weeks song, Born to Run by Bruce "the Boss" Springsteen.
I must admit I was intimidated by this song and really had no clue what I was going to come up with. I haven't had much time for picture taking this summer and we don't travel much at all either so I had to find things around my home that might match the song lyrics. I hope you like what I came up with. The first one is really obvious and probably has nothing to do with the actual song lyrics but I like it none the less.
My mom's dog, Pixie running to catch her toy raccoon.
This one's a little more in tune with the song lyrics:
For some reason these lyrics reminded me of a drag race and since I couldn't or didn't have any shots of a real one I created my own with Coleen's Hot Wheels and some Pic Monkey magic.
Now won't you join me for Scavenger Hunt Sunday
This weeks prompts were: Sky, Accessory, Verb, Transparent and Tiny.
SKY: Probably the easier of the prompts.
The sky was dotted with clouds this morning and I caught this lone bird flying by.
ACCESSORY: The neighbor girl using a mirror as an accessory to help her put on make-up.
VERB: Let's see if you can guess the verb.
TRANSPARENT:
I took this shot of our cat, Dottie through our side window. She's behind the curtain in our living room and somehow the window reflected the siding of my mom's house next door into the window creating this rather odd looking shot. Makes it looks as if the cat is transparent.
TINY:
One of Coleen's gerbils, (Walnut). I love it's tiny feet, ears, nose. Isn't he a cute little thing.
That's it for this week. I hope you have enjoyed your visit.
P.S. - The verb I was going for was Dig or Excavate.
I love the idea of the dog running. They truly ARE born to run :). And believe me, I thought this song was harder than I thought it would be too...and I picked the darn thing! Haha. Thanks for joining in on Song-ography!
ReplyDeleteI like your SHchoices, i'd gone with dig for your verb, and the first one is perfect and I think Bruce would agree.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love the dog running - too cute. Well done on the scavenger hunt words as well.
ReplyDeleteLove the born to run shot - so cute!!
ReplyDeleteThe gerbil is adorable!!
I love the photo of your mom's dog running. She's so cute! And you were creative with the toy cars. Great editing!
ReplyDeleteLove your take on verb! Great photo!
ReplyDeleteWalnut is so cute! Lovely pictures, Ida!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful set this week! I really enjoyed than all, but my favorites are accessory (great perspective!), verb (nice composition), and transparent. It really does look like the cat is transparent! The tiny gerbil is cute too.
ReplyDeleteGreat selection for Scavenger Hunt! Love the mirror image and the "trasparent" cat.
ReplyDeleteAll terrific this week Ida.
ReplyDeleteLove the edit on those cars!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear I wasn't the only one intimidated by the song choice this week. I looked all over the neighborhood for a running dog but when you want one there's none to be found.
ReplyDeleteThat gerbil is so cute!
ReplyDeleteI love how you photographed accessory. Very creative.
ReplyDeletegreat shots! Love transparent and sky.
ReplyDeleteI love your running dog image. So many of our pups are truly Born to Run. I owe my little one a run thru the woods right now. She keeps reminding me.
ReplyDeletei guessed "dig", it wasn't that hard ;)
ReplyDeletei love your shs set but my favorite was born to run!!

ReplyDeleteGreat shots, Ida - I love Born to Run!
ReplyDeleteYou really got some good pictures for these words....I had a hard time with them. The gerbil is so cute. My son had one for two years and then it died. We were all heart-broken...which surprised me because I hated it when he brought the gerbil home in the first place. Love the cat. And I think that is "dig". Your shot of the cars for Born to Run is very creative....thought they were real cars ! Your mom's dog is adorable!
ReplyDeletelove the born to run
ReplyDeleteLove the Hot Wheels cars edit -- the vivid colors are super!
ReplyDeleteThese are great! Love the mirror one of your neighbor putting on make up!
ReplyDeleteThese are incredible photos, Ida. I also loved looking at your creative cards that you make. I love Pixie running and your cat, too!
ReplyDeleteI was thinking the verb would be "dig", and I was right! :)
ReplyDeleteI'll go check this fun meme.
Your collection of photos is wonderful this week!
