Songography - Signs Edition

Hi,  Welcome to my blog.  I hope you enjoy your stay.

I'm participating this week in SONGOGRAPHY hosted by Kathy, (You'll Shoot Your Eye Out).

This weeks song,  -Signs (Five Man Electrical Band)

                                Sign, sign, everywhere a sign
Blockin' out the scenery, breakin' my mind
Do this, don't do that, can't you read the sign?

This sign was put up down the road a few blocks from our house.  The street we live on is already in need of major repairs but the winter caused even further damage to the street in places.  This is one sign you want to make sure you read especially if the shocks on your car don't work that great!

I had hoped to have something way more profound because this song is one of those "makes you think about it" type songs from the 70's but this was the only thing that came to mind today when I went out looking for signs.

I'm thinking though that LIFE can be a "rough road" at times and it's how we deal with it that makes the difference in whether or not we make it through the rough patches.

I have found this to be helpful in navigating through the rough roads of life:

Isaiah 7:14 ESV
Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

(Immanuel) means....God is with us.

Trusting and believing in this sign is all I need to ensure my life is on the correct pathway.

Be sure to stop by Kathy's blog and check out the other interpretations of this song.

  4. Yes, there are some signs I am appreciative of - but far too many I find redundant and un-necessary.

  8. Kinda wish life gave us warnings of rough roads ahead with a sign like this. It's helpful to realize that it's only a part of the road and we will reach the other end! Great sign for this prompt!

  9. Great post, Ida! God with us is the most important "sign" for life, I agree. Hoping you don't have any rough roads today. Have a wonderful week.

  10. Love your interpretation of how signs can be positive and showing us direction rather than a forbidding presence.

  12. Well, your photo may (or may not) go along with the song's theme, but it sure does with this year's winter here. Boy, do we have a lot (!) of awful potholes. Can you imagine all the roadwork to be done once it is getting warmer?!

  14. Life can be one long rough road, but I suppose it's how you navigate it that determines how well your shocks hold up.
