Checking In

Hello everyone.  I thought I would pop in briefly today to let you all know how things are going.

Last week was such a BUSY week.

Monday - Bridal Dress Shopping
Tuesday - Bowling
Wednesday - Doctor Appt. for my mom, Registering Coleen for Swimming
Thursday - Bible Study

Friday - Early Friday morning at 3:00 am our phone rang.  It was my mom.  She had somehow lost her balance in the bathroom and fell.  Thankfully Coleen had been spending the night and was able to get the phone for her
"Granny" so she could call for help.  We got her up and calmed down and then I took her to the ER.  Thankfully nothing was broken but she was pretty bruised up.  -  Spent most of the rest of the day resting and looking in on my mom.  Coleen & Greta left in the afternoon to go pick up Kelly and then stop in to visit her other Great Grandma in Idaho.

Saturday - Mike left in the early am to ride his Harley up to visit his mom in Idaho as well.  Things didn't go so well.  His bike broke down halfway there so he spent most of the day waiting in a roadside park for Greta to bring a U-Haul trailer so they could bring the bike home.  A very long day of waiting back at home as well.  They arrived safe & sound about 8:45 that night.

Sunday - Pretty calm actually.

This week Coleen started her swimming lessons so I'm busy hauling her to lessons every morning.

Wedding plans coming along.  Helping my mom with chores she isn't up to doing yet and hoping to someday blog again on a regular basis.

Thanks for your patience and understanding.  I miss you all.

  10. ...hope all settles back into the old routine again soon for you Ida. Life is like that and I think of taking it on like 'riding the waves' when you have to. Hope your Mum is a.o.k.

  14. So glad your Mom is not too badly injured. I hope she's not sore for too long. Falls are scary thing at that age.

  16. Oh, my, what a time you're having on top of all the wedding plans. I'm glad your mom wasn't badly injured in her fall. My mom used to lose her balance like that when she got older. Never broke anything, thank goodness. Must have had good bones. I told her she had to slow down, not make any sudden moves, but it would always take her by surprise. Her feet just couldn't keep up with the rest of her. Hang in there, Ida.

  19. That sounds like rather a rough week to me! It's odd how some weeks present challenges like that, and you simply deal with each one as it comes, riding the waves and coping. But at the end, you can look back and say, "Hmm! That was rough!" You sound okay -- but life is busy when you're handling/juggling 3 generations! (or more!) Hang in there.

  20. Some weeks seem to have a few too many things to deal with, it seems. I hope things calm down for you. I'm glad the fall wasn't more serious.

  22. Hi Ida. Thanks for coming by My Sweet Saturday wishin' for a view post. Yes it is a beautiful place. We are praying it all works out. I figure since I have to be in an apartment and can't have a great house and horses and gardens. Why not a great view and ample space! We are about to leave for our tour. More pics to come! Thanks again for coming by.
    Have a great weekend.

  23. Oh my goodness, what a week! Glad you made it through the craziness, and I hope things are settling down now. Well, as much as things can settle down when there's a wedding to plan!

  24. Hi Ida, thanks for the peek into what's been happening. Sounds like you're a busy gal. Glad your mom's fall wasn't worse than it could be. Seems Murphy's Law was at play with your family with the bike trip. Disappointment for sure when you're excited for a trip and visit. Have a great week.
