Life Event
Daffodils - 2014
Hello friends. This past weekend a "life event" happened here and I wasn't able to get around to your blogs to comment.
Friday morning my hubby came home for a cup of coffee and told me that he'd been having some chest pain problems at work on Thursday and woke up Thursday night with it still bothering him. He asked me to call a doctor about it and when I did they told me to get him to the ER as soon as possible.
I took him over around noon on Friday and they did an EKG and Blood Work on him. The EKG reading was pretty normal. His heart rate and blood pressure were quite high so they gave him medication for that and when the blood results came back they told us that he had had a "mild" heart attack. He was admitted to the hospital and spent the weekend there. They released him to come home yesterday and believe it or not he is back to work today.
The Echocardiogram they did on him at the hosptial showed that his heart muscles is working fine and did not show any major damage to the heart. However they want him to see a Cardiologist for further testing.
Today I have been busy making appointments for him to see a new Primary Care Doctor and the Cardiologist. Plus getting his medications for him and making sure he isn't over doing things at work by calling him to see how he is feeling.
Prayers would be appreciated as we deal with this situation. In the mean time I will post as I can and will try my best to visit and comment on your blogs as time allows. Thanks for your understanding.

Dear Ida,
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about the hiccup - We wish you and your husband the best of luck. I had a similar occurrence, personally, in December 2014, right around the time Shaggy left us. The EKG and stress tests did not show any signs of damage. Mine was/is related to anxiety - particularly around having to let go Shaggy.
My doctor has asked me to do a test called LifeTest, which looks at different aspects of the heart, in a relatively non-invasive manner. Insurance may not pay for this though, but it is not expensive. May be something to consider.
Again, best of luck with everything. We send you lots of positive vibes.
Peace :)
truly glad they did not detect damage! and hoping further testing and meds can help!
ReplyDeleteSending prayers!
ReplyDeleteYou've got them! That's amazing that he's already back at work. Probably better for him anyway! Hang in there!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear this, Ida. I'm glad you are being proactive on this and I hope your husband does well with his recovery.
ReplyDeleteTake care of yourself, too. Hugs, Lorrie
I've been there with my own hubby so I know what this is like. So glad he was able to return to work but you definitely get him checked out thoroughly. Praying all continues to go well :)
ReplyDeleteIda, sorry to hear of your husband's health issues. It is so important for all of us to be advocates for loved ones, as it seems that ER doctors are controlled by heath care regs as well as hospitals, and we need to insist on the proper treatment and testing. Hang in there.
ReplyDeletesorry to hear this, and it is good he went in early. prayers for him and you. my hubby had stints put in 2002 and open heart bipass 2007 and did fine and is fine now at age 78.. i hope yours will be just medication..
ReplyDeleteIda, you will all remain in my thoughts and prayers. I am glad he is feeling better. I hope the new doctors and healthcare for him will put this behind him. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteThat must have been scary. I hope there are no more problems. Prayers for good health for your husband!
ReplyDeleteHello Ida, I am so glad there was not major damage. This must have been very scary for all of you. Sending my prayer and well wishes..
ReplyDeleteCertainly keeping you both in my prayers!! Wishing you well!!! Cathy
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about your husband's heart event. Praying right now that he will be diagnosed well and be treated well.
ReplyDeleteIda, so sorry to hear about this. Prayers for your husband for a full recovery and prayers for you to handle all that is required of you.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your husband and I've said a prayer and will add him to my morning prayer list.
ReplyDeleteVery sorry to hear about your husband! I hope he makes a full recovery!
ReplyDeleteOh Ida....how stressful this must have been for your husband and you. Glad to know that he is home, but do follow up with those appointments. Prayers for all to be good: Thanks for sharing with us..
ReplyDeletePrayers and healing thoughts are on the way.
ReplyDeleteSo glad the heart was not damaged. Praying all goes will with the upcoming tests.
ReplyDeleteSorry about your hubby. Luckily it wasn't a serious heart attack. But still a warning! Hope you can get him healthy again.
ReplyDeletePraying for a full recovery, Ida. Blessings and peace to all the family.
ReplyDeleteThank goodness there was no damage. Scary, though, and maybe a gentle warning. I'm sorry this has happened as I'm sure it has upset you. I know you'll see that everything possible is done to keep him well. I'll be thinking of you both, Ida.
ReplyDeleteDear Ida, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
ReplyDeleteLovely daffodils!
Dear Ida, I am so sorry to hear about your husband, but so very glad that you got him to the hospital in time. He's a lucky man to have such a wonderful wife. The doctors can do amazing things these days, and I hope and pray that in his case they'll fix everything so that he can go back to being exactly as he was before. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. All the very best, Bonny
ReplyDeleteDear Ida,
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about this, but how wonderful that you are taking care of things. My husband also experienced something similar a few months ago, and we were advised to do the same tests.
Hope all goes well and may he have a speedy recovery. Take care.
Sending prayers.
Hugs,
Poppy
What a scary weekend. I'm glad it turned out the way it did. I just said a prayer.
ReplyDeletePrayers for you and husband. I hope there are doctors nearby and appointments to get (here is the biggest problem, not a doctor reach or not to get appointments, they have all to many patients).
ReplyDeleteTake your time, it's not a problem to get no visit and comment. Health is more important and to master the situation well in real life.
Best wishes.
Sorry to hear that. I'm hoping that since it was a "mild" attack, they can help him prevent any further problems for now. My husband has atrial fibrillation and has been dealing with it for some time. They have many drugs to help with such things. Good luck to you and him as you deal with this. I will keep you in my thoughts. Take care of yourself in the meantime.
ReplyDeleteOh, Ida, I'm sorry! That's a rough thing to go through. You feel scared, but at the same time you feel very thankful to have caught it and gotten it diagnosed and addressed so well. (We had a similar "event" nearly 2 years ago with my husband's outrageous blood pressure.) I'm so glad he had no muscle damage, and now that you're aware of it, you can both do a good job of caring for him, with the doctors. My husband has lost nearly 70 lbs. since his "event," and he is actually healthier now than he has been in years -- so there's hope that this will prove to be a boon :)
ReplyDeleteOh, Ida, I sure feel for you...I know just how you must be feeling. I am so glad there was no damage. And I will keep both of you in my prayers...
ReplyDeleteOh no!! I'm so sorry to hear this. I will keep you and your husband in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteBig Hugs~
Oh Ida! I am so sorry to hear this. Will most definitely keep you all in my prayers!
ReplyDeleteI am currently away from my blog too -- my dad has just come out of hip surgery today and I am visiting and helping my mom. He's doing well - already up and walking.
So thankful for His healing hand, and may it be upon your husband as well.
Oh, what a scare. I saw in your newest post that he's back at work, so that's a good thing. Best wishes to you and to him. I'll be thinking about you.
ReplyDeleteHi Ida, So very sorry to read about your husband. Praying for the new doctors to have wisdom in treating/managing him. Mildred
