It's Friday and time to join Tanya (Around Roanoke) for some
WILLY-NILLY FRIDAY FIVE randoms.
2. Huh? - Coleen and I spotted this graffiti on our walk yesterday. Does anyone have a clue what kind of a statement they were trying to make?
For some fun check out this link (Art Crimes:City Walls) which will take you to various links for Graffiti around the world.
3. I took another walk around the Whitman College campus the other day and happened upon another sculpture that I was not familiar with. I snapped this photo of it. It's called "Moongate" and you can read more about it by clicking on the link.
They certainly have some interesting pieces of art on the campus.
4. We've had some really nice days lately with temps in the mid-60's. The sun was shining through the kitchen window the other day and I happened to snap this cute shot of our cat, Bandit enjoying the sunshine.
So for fun I decided to do a little editing and share with FELINE ART FRIDAY
Here is the edited version:
5. Finally since spring is just around the corner (16 more days) I thought I'd share a fun little Fairy that Coleen and I spotted hanging from a tree while on one of our walks.
Have a beautiful day! Thanks for stopping by.
interesting place for a pot. i would be afraid someone would steal it. no idea what the graffiti means, can't even come up with a guess. i love to find large pieces of art like that moongate...
ReplyDeleteLove both photos of Bandit, great capture. Interesting about A. Capone. I have no idea for the wall art, I am a big fan-love that it is done on the sly and often superb designs. Neat moon art too...so only 16 days until we can say the Spring word 😊
ReplyDelete#1 in such a wealth national, it's sad that soup litchens ar necessary
ReplyDelete#2 thanks for the graffiti link
#3 a great nation needs great art

Oh, Ida, I love the poem and the photo of Bandit...such a cutie. And like that sculpture, too. Have not clue about the one photo and what it means. Hope I can remember to come back here and see if anyone knows.
ReplyDeleteSomebody will miss that kettle! I don't get the graffiti message, sorry!
ReplyDeleteBut I love the picture of your kitty enjoying the warmth! Love the artwork also!

One word for Bandit - content!!
ReplyDeleteSpring on the calendar may be in 16 days but I'm sure it won't be here yet where I live. Last year I remember we got a few inches of snow the first day of spring.
That's okay though cause we have wonderful summers. : )
Love all the shots. My favorite is the cat.
ReplyDeleteThat graffiti is interesting, but I have no idea what it means!
ReplyDeleteInteresting photos.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
Bandit looks great in both versions. I was inspired to do my own cat art. http://webcroft.blogspot.com/2016/03/random-5-friday-march-4th.html
ReplyDeleteOh Ida, the picture of your cat made me say, "Awww!" What a precious shot, my friend. Enjoy the weekend! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI love the effect of Bandit's photo-Al Capone and soup kitchens who would have thought, and I love wall art and often cannot make heads nor tails of the intended message if these is one...(i left a comment here yesterday by chance I came in again today to read the soup kitchen link)...
ReplyDeleteaw bandit really does look to be enjoying that sunshine, how cute!! you find the most interesting things on your walks! thank you for linking and have a great weekend...now to check out the links!
ReplyDeleteOh, Ida. I love these captures! The sidewalk graffiti is very forensic-looking. I like fairies, so that is also nice. Of course, I cannot resist Bandit!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend. Hugs!
You are full of fresh ideas and information. Love your "just because" pictures and your sun worshiping cat ... Was a pleasure it has been to come here.

The man's face should be laughing on the graffiti...looks like the hand is tickling him! :-) Love that sweet cat. Joy in the warmth of the sun! :-)
ReplyDeletewhat a great cat Love from Poland
ReplyDeleteFascinating that one of the most notorious crime bosses of our times, still new how to provide for the less fortunate.
ReplyDeleteI cannot even imagine what that graffiti art might be...??? The fingerprint makes me think it might be related to identity perhaps. Interesting though. I remember visiting NYC and seeing the same graffiti tag all over the place, and eventually learning it was a gang tag placed on areas that were their "turf."
Our cat wants outside so bad too, because the sun is really shining, but it's still quite cold out. Better safe indoors for a few more weeks kitty.
I love the interesting stories you have included in your post. As far as what the person is trying to say with the graffiti? I have NO IDEA lol. I love the picture of your kitty.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos, Ida. Especially your edited photo of Bandit. It looks like a piece of art. Yes, I've got my fingers crossed for spring here too. All the best, Bonny
ReplyDeleteA lovely series of photos Ida. My favorites were Bandit, what a pretty cat, and I also loved your fairy with the quote, but they were all great shots. Happy Sunday to you :)
ReplyDeleteYou got a great shot of your kitty! I love what you did with the editing too. Lovely little fairy. Makes me want a fairy garden.
ReplyDeleteLots of fun stuff Ida, I like the fairy, very whimsical!
ReplyDeleteBandit looks happy as can be!
