2017 certainly had it's challenges but it also had blessings. I'm sure 2018 will be the same way. Each "New Year" has it's, (Up's and Down's) and it's up to each one of us to deal with them the best we can.
We always close out the old year by eating a bunch of snack foods, watching movies, setting off fireworks and toasting the new year at midnight
This is some of what we ate.
Poor Greta had to work and didn't get home until around 10:00 pm. She was hungry as you can see by her plate of food and not amused that I was taking pictures!
Another of our "Goofy" New Year's photo's. Front Row: L-R, Greta, Ida (that's me). Back Row: L-R, Coleen, Mike & my mom, (Marian).
One of our cats, Harley watching us outside as we got ready to set off the fireworks. - That first big bang though scared him and he was out of that window in a flash! Those things were loud! - Scared Mike, scared me & everyone laughed.
Coleen and Grandpa setting some of the fireworks off.
Finally for SPARKS:
Don't you just love that you get to start "fresh" each year. - Here's to a great 2018!
You had a much more festive evening than we did. We fell asleep on the couch watching tv before 9 I think. Happy New Year

I LOVE your goofy family pic...just makes me smile from ear to ear. Great shots of the fireworks, too.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun New Year celebration. We don't do much anymore and sometimes aren't even up for the countdown, but this year made it past midnight. The granddaughter was here (she's 5) and she made it only until 5 minutes before midnight and that was it so she missed it. Would have been her first. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year and all the blessings for a New Year to you and family.
