Willy-Nilly Friday Five - December 1, 2017

Welcome - I hope everyone had a good week and for those in the US who celebrated Thanksgiving I hope it was pleasant one.  Ours was quiet but nice.

Hard to believe but Christmas will be here in just 24 days now...so much to do yet.  We have the outside lights up and I'm working on inside decorations this week.  Our tree won't go up for at least a week yet.  We are waiting on a doorway gate to keep the cats out of the room so they won't destroy the tree.

Now let's join Tanya (Around Roanoke) for WILLY-NILLY FRIDAY FIVE.

1.  Spotted in a field while out for a drive this past week.

2.  Flowers my youngest brother, (Roger) sent our mom for Thanksgiving.

Aren't they pretty.

3.  Sitting Pretty - Our oldest cat, Miss Dottie

She's been jumping up on shelves, counters & people this week.  Seems she has a new spring to her step. Not bad for an almost 18 year old cat.

4.  Coleen reading (hah, hah) a book for school homework.

5.  Saw this while driving down the street.

Couldn't resist this musical selection this week.

Have a great weekend everyone! - Thanks for stopping by.

Sparks 8 - Expectancy

Welcome! - Well Thanksgiving is offically in the books for 2017 - Quite a busy week here.  Thankfully "Turkey Day" was fairly calm and we had a nice meal with the family that was here. - Spent the day after getting the outside Christmas decorations put up.  Always fun to see all the pretty lights, even though it's a lot of work getting them up.

So this week for SPARKS I'm sharing...

You never know where your next miracle will come from.

Now for AWWW MONDAYS....

Ghost decided to play peek-a-boo from the top of the stairs this morning.  It made me smile & I hope it makes you smile too.

Have a great day!

Awww Monday & Sparks

Hello & Welcome - I'm so glad you stopped in and I hope you enjoy your visit.

First up for AWWW...MONDAYS hosted by Sandee at Comedy Plus

Couldn't resist sharing this picture of Speedy G relaxing on the couch last night. - Cats can sure sleep in the weirdest positions.

Next up for SPARKS hosted by Annie at McGuffy's Reader

I received just such an act of thougtfulness & kindness this past week.  A package arrived in the mail from a good friend.  I was so not expecting anything from her and this is what I found inside the package.

It's one of her "Mixed Media" art pieces.  She does such an amazing job with her art, It's fun, colorful and whimsical. - Just for me she did a piece with a "cat" in it.  This one is titled:  Full Moon Sluething and it's just so cute.  I love it.  The picture doesn't do it justice as you can't see all the little details she adds to make her work so much fun. -  It meant a lot to me that she shared this art piece with me.

I hope you will take time this week to do a Kindness for someone.  It can be someone you know or even someone you don't know.  It can be "random" or on purpose, just do it.  You never know who's live you will brighten by your thoughtfulness.

11th Tea Cup / Mug Exchange

It's "Reveal Day" for the 11th Tea Cup & Mug Exchange hosted by the awesome Stephanie from the Enchanting Rose Blog.

This event is always so much fun to participate in.  Not only do you get a fun package in the mail but you also get to meet new people and become friends with them.

My partner that I sent to was Sharon who blogs at Tales From Twisty Lane
You can click on the link to see what I sent her.  It was so much fun picking out the various items.  She & I both love Owls so I had fun finding some fun owl items to include in her package.  She has a great blog so be sure to check it out.

Next up the partner who had my name is Donna Gabbard.  She has a blog at Paper & Fabric & Books...Oh My

It was so much fun opening her package.  She had wrapped everything in lovely tissue paper.

Here is what I received:

Check out that gorgeous Fall Mug - It's so pretty and has been used a lot already this fall.  There was also some great tasting Black Chai Tea, which I love.  -  Then there was this beautiful little box decorated with an embossed leaf - Which is now hanging on my office cabinet wall, so pretty.  Inside the box...

Yummy Chocolate Candies - They didn't last long :o)

Check out this selection of Tea, Cocoa, Coffee & a delicious cookie wafer.  I actually shared the wafer with my granddaughter, Coleen who had eaten one on a trip and said they were yummy,  She was right. - That Pecan coffee smells so good.

Inside the lovely box with the tea pots was some pretty napkins, a daily planner for next year, some Washi Tape, and Ink Pad and a cool looking Owl rubber stamp.  I just need to find time now to stamp something with it.

Finally there was a beautiful book of poems with flower illustrations and a cute owl journal.  Along with that a sweet and cute card with a wonderful note from Donna.

Everything was just perfect.  Thank you so much Donna.

Thanks also to Stephanie for hosting and putting this event together.  She does a fantastic job and I know everyone who participates is blessed by it.

Willy Nilly Friday Five and Feline Friday - November 3, 2017

Welcome! - Wow it's hard to believe it's November already. Time sure goes by quickly anymore.

Joining in today for WILLY-NILLY FRIDAY FIVE

Also joining in for FELINE FRIDAY

First up for Feline Friday:

This is my hubby, Miss Dottie, Caramel Honeybun & Speedy G all napping together.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now for Willy-Nilly Friday Five:

Click to enlarge photos:  - This first one is yucky so if you are squeamish don't look.

1.  A few weeks ago my hubby was working on some table tops sanding the old finish off of them so they could be refinished.  - He came inside and yelled out that I needed to take him to the hospital.  Seems he set the sander down and went to pick it up and somehow hit the switch back on....

Took that finger nail completely off!  - It's healed up now but looks pretty weird since the nail is gone.  It could have been so much worse but this still looks pretty gross.

2.  We have had a beautiful fall this year.  Here is one of my favorite trees in town.  - It turns this gorgeous red color and it's the only one right there that changes color but it looks so pretty with the other trees.

 3. I've been baking again.  Tried out this recipe for Brown Sugar Pecan Cookies and boy were there delicious.

 4.  Coleen spotted a moth on my mom's porch one morning.  We decided to put it on some flowers and while we were moving it it landed right on Coleen's chest.  We snapped a shot of it and then it landed on an old television set before finally flying off.

5.  While out shooting fall scenes a couple of weeks ago I captured this shot of our Blue Mountains with freshly fallen snow on them.  Oh how I dread winter but it sure looks pretty here.

Bonus photo:  Had to share this big spider scene that is right across the street from where we live.

In closing a musical selection for the season. Neil Young - Harvest Moon.

 Have a great weekend.

Seasons - Happy Halloween

Joining Jesh today for SEASONS - It's Halloween here in the USA so it's the season for "spooktacular" fun.

Lots of fun and semi-scary stuff here today.

My mom spotted these two while we were on a drive.

I like this pumpkin man - He's not to spooky.

These people put up quite a display in their yard.  This is just a small portion of their decorations.

Dracula was in the same yard as the Pumpkin man.  - I love his sign.

This bicycle is so funny.  There is a skelton rider, his skeleton dog and on his shoulder a skelton parrot. - Same house as the people with the scary skull featured earlier.

Lots of people were displaying stuff on their doors.  This one is a bit creepy.

Loved these cute little Halloween dogs.

Lots of ghosts & ghouls were hanging in trees.  - This is one of them.

A fun display of pumpkins we spotted.

A buzzard keeping watch on everything. Convereted to BW for a creepier effect.

                                                    Another Door find.

These people had several of these blow-ups in their yard.  I just shared the Harley rider.

Large Spiders on houses are also fun.

Finally a few webs and skulls to top off this Halloween Post.

                                            TRICK OR TREAT!
