Whatever Wednesday - Christmas Edition

Well it's been some time since I've done a "Whatever Wednesday" post so I thought I would try to get back in the swing of things this week with some photo's from Christmas.

My mom with her new Bible Cover. She really liked the new Bible and the cover because now she can carry it to church.

Greta opening one of her gifts from her dad & I. It was a T-Shirt with a Black Pugs face on it. She loved it.

Mike, Erick and Lukas (Erick is Mike's son) His family came down on the 27th and spent a couple of days with us. Their family photo follows.

Erick, Elaine, Lukas and Sahvana We had a great Christmas. Christmas morning we always get up early (around 5:30 am) to open our gifts at our house. Then later in the morning around 8:30 the family all gathers next door at our mom's for breakfast. We had 22 present this year all crowded into her little house. Makes for a noisy but fun time. - Sadly most of my pictures of the morning were rather blurred so I'm not showing any of them. Since Blogger is still acting up I am not able to change the size of the photos. If you click on them you'll get full sized photo's but until they get this problem fixed I'm uploading using the HTML feature and it doesn't size the photo's as large as I would like them to be.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday - Jan. 6, 2013

Welcome! - It's time to join Ashley (Ramblings and Photos) for the very 1st Scavenger Hunt Sunday of 2013. 

It's good to be back and now that things have settled in to a somewhat quieter and normal routine I was ready to have some fun with the prompts.  The funny thing was that I couldn't seem to locate them anywhere until early today.  Needless to say I had to hurry to find photo's for the prompts.  They aren't my best work but they do fit the prompts.  So let's get started.

The prompts this week are:  Breakfast, Multi-Colored, Starts with the letter C, Roll and Future.

BREAKFAST:  Considering I had already eaten breakfast today before I discovered what the prompts were I had to think fast about what to use.  Coleen had eaten a Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich for her breakfast and the containers were still on the counter so I snapped a quick photo before putting them away.

MULTI-COLORED:  After searching around my craft room for something multi-colored besides my Copic markers I discovered this rainbow colored notepad.  

 STARTS WITH THE LETTER C:

for:  Contentment...and you thought it was for Cat.  Gottcha!

ROLL:  This one was the toughest one for me.  I finally came up with this:

FUTURE:

Photo Art Friday - January 4, 2012

Today marks the 15th Anniversary of my dad's passing.  It's a day that I will never forget but as time has passed the "why's" of his sudden passing have lessened and I've learned to accept that he is gone and in a better place.  I will be placing flowers with my mom on his grave today in his memory.  Love you always dad.

It's also time to join Bonnie (Pixel Dust Photo Art) for the very first Photo Art Friday of 2013. - I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season.

For the first PAF Bonnie gave us the "optional" theme:  This week you have the option of showcasing a piece of photo art that features a word you have chosen to guide or inspire you for the year 2013.


I thought about this a lot and one thing kept popping into my head was about seeking,
"Seek Ye First the Kingdom of God" came to mind right away.  I looked up the word,
SEEK which used as an Intransitive Verb means:

My goal for 2013 is to seek more in all walks of my life.  In my faith to grow stronger and closer to God, in my family life to be more understanding, in my photography to grow and seek more knowledge of how to become a better photographer.  To discover new things and to be bold in that search.

Best of 2012

Hello! - I thought I would post 12 of my favorite photo's from 2012.  They are in no particular order or date.

I love this BW photo I took of our dog, Cricket. It's so hard to get a decent picture of her because she generally never sits still long enough to take a picture. She turned 2 years old on December 27th

I just loved the way the sunlight was shining on these fluffy clouds.

This shot of the huge duck (showcased during the Ducky Derby) perched on top of the bank just seems so fun and whimsical to me.

For me this shot of Bennington Lake is made even more special by the wonderful quote that I found to go along with it.

This shot of Piglet laying in my window box is one of my favorite because he just has that totally "laid-back" attitude that is so much a part of his personality.

The very first of my Photo Art that I had printed on Canvas.  I love it.

This shot of my husband playing his guitar is very special and sentimental to me.

My all time favorite photo of our cat, Snickers.  I just love how sweet she looks in this picture.

This SOOC (Straight out of the Camera) shot of a Wasp peeking over one of the rose leaves in my garden caught me by surprise when I downloaded my photos.  I love the expression on it's face.

My favorite of all the flower shots I took in 2012. 

This is my favorite shot of Coleen from 2012.  I love the vibrant colors of the leaves and her wonderful smile and beautiful eyes.

This last shot is my one of my favorites from the (Scavenger Hunt Sunday) meme.  It was for the prompt, Toys and my "sick" sense of humor got the better of me that day.  I had a lot of fun with this photo and that is why it got showcased in the best of 2012 photos.
