Joining in with Eileen (Viewing Nature) for Saturday's Critters and also Camera Critters.
I've had these photos in my files since May and just haven't gotten around to posting them yet.
We took a little drive (My mom, Coleen and I) one afternoon and on our way home we spotted these deer on a hillside so I pulled over and snapped a few pictures.
I love seeing deer in the wild and actually being able to photograph them.
The one on the left was really checking me out. The one on the right said, "Who cares, let's eat!"
This one showed up to join the party.
Now we are really being watched.
Finally they decided they were tired of me snapping their picture so off they went.
I hope you enjoyed seeing them as much as we did. I love the "White-Tail" deer in our part of the country. Edit: Thanks to Brian (Brian King Images) he helped identify these deer as Mule rather then White-Tail) We have both in our area. Another post here: http://wishesdreamsandotherthings.blogspot.com/2012/08/whatever-wednesday-bennington-lake.html Shows the White-Tail.
Pretty deer, what a lovely sighting.. Great photos! Thanks so much for linking up and sharing your post. Have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteOh Ida, these are just beautiful! We have Mule Deer here so it's fun to see White Tail Deer :) Thank you for sharing your wonderful pictures!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!
color me Jealous and green with envy
ReplyDeleteWe have deer everywhere here!
ReplyDeleteKinda like our backyard in Georgia.
ReplyDeleteAwesome!
Peace :)
Beautiful creatures, aren't they? When my friend and I go on our after work walk we often pass deer browsing within feet of us. I live and work near a heavily wooded area, but people encroach more on the critter habitat every year. Sad to see.
ReplyDeleteGreat observations and animals.
ReplyDeleteHi, Ida! Popping in to see what you're up to... you can come to my house and "shoot" as many deer as you want, lol! Love the little bee in your header! Have a blessed week!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful animals!
ReplyDeleteI love watching the white-tails here too! In fact, a doe and her fawn were eating the neighbor's weeds this morning...:)JP
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures of the deer.
ReplyDeleteHow cool! Nice shots of this little herd! I don't know what part of the country you're in, but I think what you may have here are Mule Deer, not Whitetails. Mule Deer backsides are predominately white with a white tail and black tip. White-tailed Deer have only a small amount of white on the rump and the topside of their tail is brown. Only the underside is white. When they are alarmed, they raise their tail exposing the white underside as a "flag" for the other deer.
ReplyDeleteI love how they flip their tails up and skedaddle away.
ReplyDeleteI never tire of seeing the wild deer.
ReplyDeleteNice series of captures :}
I love your deer pictures! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! We have a lot of white-tail deer, we don't have mule deer. Tho we saw many on our trip out West.
ReplyDeleteOh, boy, what a treat to see this many at one time.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots! I get excited every time I see deer! I was walking a meadow trail recently and two crossed right in front of me.
