Photo Art Friday - April 6, 2012

It's PAF time!!! - This week the theme is: feature a macro photo (or a photograph that you have cropped to highlight a close-up part of the image) that you feel qualifies as a piece of art.

I was playing around one day with my camera and spotted a container of Licorice Nibs on the table and decided to take some Macro Photos of them.  - Does anyone else find themselves taking Macro shots of weird things like that?  Anyway I liked the way the photo turned out but thought it would be fun to play around with it using some features on Picnik.

Here is my Original Licorice Nib Shot SOOC - Click to enlarge:

Up first is the Posterize feature on Picnik which I also did in Gimp but liked the Picnik version better.

Next is the Hypnotic effect (I used this a couple of weeks ago and had to try it out again)

Lastly (this one is my favorite) - Infrared - Heat Map 30% and text added.

Be sure to stop by Bonnie's Blog HERE and check out the other entries.

  1. Hi Ida, I like your addition of the word sweet and how you ended up with blue and orange. Very cool. I could sit and edit for hours, it is so much fun. PS: I haven't even opened up my book about GIMP yet...but I will!!

  5. clever of you to use the licorice as your subject matter this week. Remind me - how did you do the hypnotic version - in Piknik? Anyway, it's really neat!
