Willy Nilly Friday Five & Feline Friday - August 10, 2018

Well once again I've been absent from posting but I'm back today to join in on Willy Nilly Friday Five and Feline Friday.

Up first for WILLY-NILLY FRIDAY FIVE

1.  Every summer I try to get a photo of a butterfly but most often or not they fly off before I can get a picture of them.  I managed 2 of this lovely Swallowtail before it took off.

2.  Took a little drive earlier this month and spotted some Wild Turkeys.

A couple of the adults and some of the baby turkeys.  There were lots more but they were moving quickly and it was hard to get decent shots of them.

3. Enjoying some of the summer fruit readily available in this area.  Yummy Blackberry Pie with Vanilla Ice Cream.  Doesn't get much better!

4.  I like to do Black and White shots now & then.  This is a Cherry Orchard and wind turbine.

5.  Out on another drive.  Had to take a shot of the baled fields.

6.  I liked the way this building looked and the cool sculpture in front of it.  Will share a better shot of that at a later date. (Got to give you something to look forward too).

7.  I think I found the "Bat Cave"

Now for FELINE FRIDAY:

It's "Speedy G" showing off that magnificent belly!

  3. ...most of the time butterflies are just too fast for me.
...I haven't seen turkeys in a few months, but I share the road with them everyday.
...you folks in the northwest sure have blackberries to enjoy.
...you have some mighty big bales in your area.
    ...I'll be waiting!
...my neighbor Bill who is about 85 has a bat cave.
    ...belly up!
Thanks Ida for stopping by, I hope to see you back again soon.

  7. Speedy G's belly reminds me of our Simba's! Is that building a newspaper? I really like the sculpture in front of it. Your butterfly shots are gorgeous!!! I love the field with hay!! Around here, the bales are round. I have never seen a live wild turkey!

  10. Those are great photos, all of them. The kitty is adorable. :) I especially love the butterfly photos and the old building and its sculpture. I once broke a camera chasing a butterfly. I felt like I'd broken my leg, but I was crying over the camera. haha

    Have a blessed weekend!

  11. I have the same problem getting pictures of butterflies. You did good. Those are both beautiful shots. I love the look of the buildings with the statue in front. There is something about the old fashioned looking down town look that I just love.

  12. Speedy G is not looking very speedy!!! The tire patterns in that hay field add very interesting texture to the shot. And berries - Yum - we went to a picnic a couple of days ago, and one of the ladies made a raspberry dessert with fresh raspberries for the topping (home-grown berries). Paired with a dollop of vanilla ice cream, it was a little slice of heaven.

  13. Love your butterfly capture! They are fast little critters! The bat cave made me giggle. :-) I understand so well about being absent from the blogosphere. It seems I'm very hit and miss lately. I hope to remedy that soon! xoxo
