Mosaic Monday mixed with The Good, The Random and The Fun

Happy Monday! -  I'm joining in today for Mosaic Monday and The Good The Random The Fun.

First up:

THE GOOD:  This is also my entry for Mosaic Monday.

I discovered these berries on a tree down by the school Coleen attends and just had to stop by and take some pictures of them.  The berries combined with the colorful leaves just screams out fall to me.  It's all "good" when it comes to scenes like this.

THE RANDOM:

I spotted this old car sitting in a driveway on my way home from photographing the berries/leaves.

THE FUN:

It's always fun to see Romeo when his owners have him out for a walk.  He's such a cute dog and I just love that he always has a stuffed toy in his mouth.

Be sure to stop by Tamar's blog (Random-osity) for The Good The Random The Fun.  and pop over to Judith's blog (Lavender Cottage) for Mosaic Monday.

Thanks for your visit.  Have a great day.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday - Mosaic Monday

Welcome! -  I hope you have all had a wonderful week.  It was a nice one here.   Plenty to do and yet not overwhelming.  -  So now it's time to join Ashley from,
Ramblings and Photos for SCAVENGER HUNT SUNDAY. -  The object is to use the 5 "Prompts' given each week and find photos that match them and then post your photos.

This week the prompts were:  KEY, TRIANGLE, FAVORITE WORD, CELEBRATION and BEST.

KEY:  I have been dying to have a reason to use this photo.  Yes it was taken really early this year way back in January on one of the walks Coleen and I went on.  She spotted it and I took the photo.

Hanging above one of the Fraternity Houses on Whitman College Campus.

TRIANGLE:  (This will also be linked to MOSAIC MONDAY) over at Lavender Cottage.

I had so much fun walking around the neighborhood looking for triangles.

FAVORITE WORD:  -  This isn't necessarily my favorite word but it certainly is my favorite animal.

This is, Helix (not to be mixed up with Felix the Cat). He's another of the neighborhood cats that has adopted us.  Here he is climbing in my mom's Lilac tree.

CELEBRATION:

The bright colored costumes of these dancers who preformed at the School Carnival this week always remind me of a Celebration.

BEST:  I think Coleen is the "best" and this is one of the best swing photo's I've ever taken of her.

Thanks for joining me and if you are so inclined to try this out here are next weeks prompts:

  • 1. Autumn
  • 2. Leaves
  • 3. Boots
  • 4. Hot Beverage
  • 5. Game

  • Take care and have a wonderful day.

Mosaic Monday and Macro Monday - Signs of Autumn

Happy start to a new week! -  Things here are going okay.  Still worried about my mom. She's still having issues with her BP and now I'm trying to learn to cook low sodium menus which is not as easy as it sounds.  Do you know how much Sodium is in foods.  Far to much!  But you didn't come here to read about that so lets move along to something more pleasant.

I thought for a change I join in on Mosaic Monday on Mary's Blog, Little Red House.  This is my 1st time participating but I love the idea of putting together collages/mosaics of different subjects.  For my Mosaic I chosse, Autumn as my theme.  I went out last Friday with my Granddaughter, Coleen on a walk and took a bunch of pictures of different things.  Here is the mosaic I created:

I used Picnik to upload and collage my photo, then did a little editing with the Orton technique and Vigenette.

It's also Macro Monday over on Lisa's blog, Lisa's Chaos.  Now all of the above photo's were shot using the Macro feature on my little Canon Power Shot camera but I am going to share another photo not in the collage that I took the same day.

These are the seed pods of what I believe to be a Maple tree of some type but I am not positive.  ETA - Thanks to Stewart of Paying Ready Attention I have since learned this tree is a type of Sweet Gum ( Liquid Amber (Liquidambar styraciflua)) - If you do a Google search you can learn more about this tree.
You can see one of the leaves in the mosaic above.  Aren't they cool looking!

Be sure to check out both links for other fabulous mosaic and macro shots.  You won't be disappointed.  Have a great week.
