Willy Nilly Friday Five

Joining Tom (The backroads traveller) for WILLY NILLY FRIDAY FIVE

 1.  I have (no clue) what type of a plant this is.  Saw it in the garden at the grade school and liked the shape of the pods.

2.  Peeling tree bark.  I always think this looks really cool.

3.  Just a cheery little sunflower to brighten your day.

4. Met this little cutie while out on a walk.  I ask his owner if I could take his picture and he said, sure.  His name....Crusher!

5.  Birthday girl enjoying her cake

6. Bonus Shot: Watusi cattle
Leaving you with a video of a song that speaks volume.  It isn't your Political Views or your Social Platforms that matter.  How will you choose to be remembered? Nothing else matters.

Just in case the video doesn't play for you here are the lyrics.

Trouble, we have known trouble
In our struggle just to get by
Many times the burden's been heavy
Still we carried on side by side
And when we're gone, long gone
The only thing that will have mattered
Is the love that we shared
And the way that we cared
When we're gone, long gone
And when we're walking together in glory
Hand in hand through eternity
It's the love that will be remembered
Not wealth, not poverty
And when we're gone, long gone
The only thing that will have mattered
Is the love that we've shared
And the way that we cared
When we're gone, long gone
When we're gone, long gone
The only thing that will have mattered
Is the love that we shared
And the way that we cared
When we're gone, long gone

New Family Member

Today I have the great pleasure to introduce you to our newest family member.

After several weeks of searching we finally found our little puppy.
There were a couple of others that we came close to adopting but somebody always beat us to them.

Yesterday I happened to check the Humane Societies website again and found this little guy up for adoption so I called and got an appointment set up to meet him last night.

He and his sibling sister were found as strays about 2 months ago.  At that time they were very malnourished and almost hairless.  The people at BMHS don't really know much about what breed of dog he is other then they think he might have some chihuahua in him.

His hair has grown back for the most part but he does have a few bare spots still and one of his eyes appears to be slightly smaller then the other one.

He's very sweet though and gets along with our Pug, Cricket and he's really a cuddly fellow.  So without further ado let me introduce you to:

Darby Joe Krause - He's 2 months old currently.

We look forward to many adventures together.

Willy Nilly Friday Five - June 7, 2019

Hey I'm posting again!  Wow 2 weeks in a row.  -  It's been a fairly easy week without to much stress for which I'm very thankful.

So let's join Tom (The Backroads Traveller) for:
WILLY NILLY FRIDAY FIVE

I'm behind on sharing some of the photo's I've taken this year so I'll sharing a few of them today.

1.  One night while waiting for the "Blue Hour" to arrive I captured this wonderful rainbow shot.

followed by this sunset shot.

2.  While out for a walk around the block one day I spotted this little fellow in someone's yard and had to snap a photo.

3.  Spotted in a Parking Lot - Coleen snapped this for me.

4.  On a drive one day we followed this:

Hubby drove around the block so I could get a better shot.

5.  Missed sharing some photos of the Magnolia's in bloom.

6.  On a drive up Mill Creek with my mom one evening we spotted this:

7.  Who remembers this post from last year?   -  Guess what?  I won again this year.  This time it was 3rd Place which was a 50 pack of $5 tickets.  I didn't win big but I came away with $160.00 which wasn't bad.  I'll enter again next year.

8.  Finally it's that time of year.  Klicker Strawberries are here!!!   I'll be making Strawberry Shortcake today.

In honor of the season:

Have a fantastic weekend everyone!

Willy Nilly Friday Five - April 12, 2019

Hello and Welcome!

Spring has arrived and here we are experiencing the old saying of, "April Showers" bring May flowers.  - It's rained & rained and rained.  But it beats the snow so I won't complain (to much).

Joining Tom (The Backroads Traveller) for:
WILLY-NILLY FRIDAY FIVE

1.  Took another drive up in the mountains and along the way we spotted several deer in a field.  I pulled over and snapped a few shots.  After about 5 shots I realized that the camera was on Black/White mode so I switched it to color.  This shot however is in Black and White but I like it anyway.

 2.  On the same drive and in the same filed as the deer there were a bunch of Wild Turkeys - Yep you get turkeys again.  This fellow was strutting around and if you look in the brush you will spot several other turkeys.

3.   A recent drive out to shot the new wheat surrounded by the Blue Mountains in the background.

4.  I like to try new recipes and the salad on this plate of food is one of them.  It's Macaroni Coleslaw and can be found by clicking on the link.  It was yummy but makes a ton of salad.

5.  After one of the rainstorms this week we had a huge double rainbow.  I couldn't get a complete shot of the entire rainbow but I liked how this shot turned out.

6.  A nearby Tulip or Magnolia Tree in full bloom.

7.  My daughter's dog, Baylie anticipating being able to eat that bone balanced on her nose.  This shot was for 52 Frames this past week under the theme of, Food.

Can't leave out the cats so here's one of them as well.

A collage featuring Harley, Bandit and Gidget

First Photo - Harley and Bandit (his favorite cat to take a nap with)
Second Photo -  Harley and Gidget (our newest furry family member) and Third Photo - Harley and Pepper.  A rare shot indeed because he can't stand Pepper and rarely spends any time near her unless it's to chase her around.  Good thing he was asleep and didn't realize she was next to him.

That's it for this week.  Thanks for visiting.  Have a great weekend.

1.  The last time I posted for WNFF - I posted the photo below and promised to share a closer view of the sculpture so as promised below is a better view.

I really like this sculpture.  There was another one across the street that I'll share another time (got to keep you anticipating)

2.  We took a drive over the the Tri-Cities (Pasco, Kennewick, Richland) to a music store last month.  On the way back I spotted a bunch of birds sitting on some rocks on the riverbank.  I spotted a Pelican perched on a large rock and asked hubby to stop so I could get a photo.  It was posing so nicely.  Well just as I got down to where I thought I could get a decent photo the birds all flew off and this is all I got.  (No Pelicans here, just Seagulls).

It still turned out pretty cool.  The reason the birds flew.....

Someone let their dog out...oh that made me mad.

3.  I love the area we live in.  Lots of mountains and fields to visit.  Took this shot of a plowed field while drive up Scenic Loop last week.

I found the patterns rather fascinating.

4.  I participate in a group called 52 Frames and last week my Purple Cow was chosed as one of the 52 Committee Picks for the weekly theme.  The theme was,  "Purple."  -  Coleen helped me by making me an Oragami Cow.  I was inspired by the little poem:

The Purple Cow

I never saw a Purple Cow,
I never hope to see one,
But I can tell you, anyhow,
I’d rather see than be one!

 5.  More deer sightings.  Look at the impressive rack on the Buck.  I sure hope he makes it through hunting season.

 Bonus shot:

A black and white of part of the Wedding Fountain in Pioneer Park.

My music selection today isn't my typical music style.  I was just surprised to learn that one of my favorite Hallmark Actresses (Alicia Witt) is also an accomplished pianist and singer.  I actually like her voice so may have to purchase some of her albums.

Something funny for FELINE FRIDAY:  (Comedy Plus)

Image may contain: people sitting

Can't leave without sharing one of our kitties to:

Not the clearest shot but I had to shot quickly before he sucked that little tongue back in!  -  This one is Bandit.

Willy-Nilly Friday Five - June 17, 2016

Happy Friday!

Joining Tanya (Around Roanoke) today for,
WILLY-NILLY FRIDAY FIVE

1.  I haven't shared this photo yet for the 52 Frames project that I've been participating in.  This one is for the challenge, DOF (Depth of Field).

The link above takes you to that album where you can see some amazing photos.

2. Sharing this photo taken last month of one of the Indian dancers costumes at the Return to the River Salmon festival that Coleen and I attended.

3.  Yesterday's Good Fences post was all about cats & fences.  Coleen complained that I hardly ever share photos of dogs so while we were out walking I snapped a photo of this little dog in someone's yard.  Love that crooked smile it has.

4.  Also while out on that same walk I snapped some Yellow Yarrow growing in someone's garden.  It's another of the DOF shots that I was practicing on.

5.  Last night Coleen and I took a short walk down to the school as I wanted a clear view (no power lines) of the pretty pink clouds that were in the sky.  This is one of them.

6. Bonus Shot - Another of the 52 Frames challenges that I haven't shared.  This one was for: Negative Space.  My hubby was doing some welding and I decided to capture the sparks from the gun.  I love how it turned out although as far as the "negative space" it could have been a bit better.

Have a great day and enjoy the weekend.

Willy Nilly Friday Five

Hi! - I've been absent from participating in
WILLY-NILLY FRIDAY FIVE for a few weeks and thought I'd join in again today.  WNFF is hosted by Tanya (Around Roanoke).

Here are 5 Things and some photos that I'm thankful for today.

1.   I'm thankful that when I slipped last night trying to "herd" cats to the bedroom and fell into our dishwasher I only bruised my hand and didn't break anything.  I'm also thankful no one (especially my hubby) saw what happened.  I'm sure it was pretty comical as I had one cat in my arms and was trying to move one with my foot when I accidentally stepped on her tail, she yowled, I dropped the cat I was carrying, slipped on the floor and banged hard into the kitchen counter and dishwasher.  Cats went running every direction.  I bet it was quite the sight.

2.  Speaking of cats....I'm thankful to enjoy cuteness like this every day.

Bandit & Pepper on the Left - Bandit and Spooky-boo on the Right.

3.  I'm thankful for this sweet girl.  She's a joy (most of the time) to have around.

Recovering after her surgery last week.

4.  I'm thankful for this little dog, and a halfway decent photo of myself.  You will notice Coleen is the photographer for this photo.  This was taken during one of our nature/photo walks a few weeks ago.

Me & Pixie (my mom's dog)

5.  I'm thankful for time to relax, time to work, time to play, time to reflect...well you get the picture.

The "Tick-Tock" balloon that was at the Balloon Stampede in October.

Bonus Photo since I mentioned being thankful for colorful fall foliage yesterday.   I spotted 3 very different and yet colorful leaves in our driveway.  I picked them up and arranged them on the sidewalk for a little photo shoot so I could enjoy their color a little longer.

Have a beautiful weekend.
