"Whatever" Wednesday - Green Metallic Bee Edition

Hello! Well we're half-way through another week and so far this one has been a bit hectic.  Monday we had to take one of our cats to the Vet.  She apparently developed a UTI and was put on medication.  Exams and Medications...$354, Yikes!!! I am happy to report though she is doing much, much better.

I've had these photos for a few months just waiting around for some challenge to use them and then I thought why not just post them for my Whatever Wednesday feature.

I spotted these 2 little Green Metallic Bees on my Evening Primrose plant one afternoon and snapped a bunch of photo's of them.

Notice the bee on the left.  Look at the Pollen on his leg.

You'll see just how much in the next couple of photos.

See what  I mean and how he was even able to balance on the edge of the petal with all that weight is beyond my comprehension.

It wasn't just one leg ethier, both were pretty loaded with pollen.  Makes you wonder how he could fly with a load like that.

Finally I like this next shot because of the detail on the bee's face.  It's like he's looking at me and saying, "What are you lookin at!"

Don't you just love the wonderful shiny metallic green of their bodies next to the bright yellow of the Primrose flower.

Have a wonderful day.

  1. Those are cool bugs! I don't think I've ever seen one before. BTW, glad your cat is feeling better.

  2. What good photos. These Sweat Bees are really small, so I know how difficult it is to photograph them. Also, they usually forage singularly, so two is a real bonus. Great captures, Ida.
