Good Fences 51

Good Morning! - It's time to join Theresa (The Run-a-round Ranch Report) for GOOD FENCES.

Last week I featured a fancy Wrought Iron fence and mentioned that I would post the fence bordering that property this week.  Funny thing....When I went down to get some other pictures of the fence I planned to post today I discovered that this fence is actually a block away from the fancy Wrought Iron fence.

However there will be two fences ( make that 3) here today because these two fences  actually are the ones that border each other.

In this shot you will see the Green Picket fence and another wooden fence on the other side of the yard.  What is fun here are the cute little birds that sit on top the fence posts.

I took two different shots of these birds from different angles.  This is one of them and below is the other.

Do you think it's about to peck off that bug/spider just below on the post?

So what fence is right next door to this one......

It's a green wire fence with black wrought iron posts.  Lots of overgrown weeds or brambles too.

The view from the opposite direction.

Finally a close-up of the iron posts and brambles.

I hope you've enjoyed these fences today. - Don't forget to stop in and visit Theresa's blog and check out the other great fence participants.

  3. really odd that they have the wire hooked on the old wrought iron post. i am thinking the old fence fell or came down and they needed to fence something in or out. i love the green fence with the birds..

  12. love the color of the picket fence! And the birdie post - ingenious!

  13. How can anyone NOT love the birds sitting atop each post? This truly adds a touch of country charm and likely keeps the real birds off the fence.

  14. Both fences are so different from each other. I love the little birds sitting on the fence posts - such a beautiful idea! The posts of the other fence are beautiful as well. You've found two great fences, Ida!

  15. Those are unusual birds Ida - Green Finches are they? I think if i owned that fence I would get out a few pots of different paints and some tiny brushes and then paint the birds to look more real. Imagine the fun to be had with passing bird watchers and photographers?

  41. Pleasant color for the fence and i like those fence ornaments.

  42. That's a wonderful fence Ida. The birds just make it perfect.

  43. The wood fences look well made, and I do like those little birds. I think that one would catch the bug if it could come to life for an instant there! I also like the fence posts for the wire fence. They are very pretty even though the wire isn't as nice as the wood in my opinion. When we set up our swimming pool a couple summers ago, we had a wire fence very similar around the pool to keep the animals away from it.

  44. If i had a fence, I'd want one with little birds on it :)

  45. I like the contrast between the well maintained wooden fence and its neighbour. Those little birds are a nice touch!
