Black and White Wednesday - Scenes from Bennington Lake

Today I'm joining Adrienne (My Memory Art) for:
BLACK & WHITE WEDNESDAYS

We took a quick drive up to Bennington Lake the other day & I snapped a few photos while we were there.  I'm sharing them today.  I've converted them to BW but I'll include the colored versions too.

Be sure to click to enlarge:

Spotted this Falcon (correct me if this is a Hawk)  I was quite please at how close I was able to get with the 75-300mm lense that came with my new camera. - Although this has been cropped.

Queen Anne's Lace in bloom.  One of the shots I took while practicing Depth of Field (DOF) shots.

A Dragon Fly we spotted - Coleen pointed it out to me.  Loving the shimmering wings.

Fencing and grass near one of the trails that you can walk on around the lake area.

Seasons & BW Wednesday

Today I'm joining Jesh (St. Germains) & Adrienne (My Memory Art) for their memes:

SEASONS  and BLACK & WHITE WEDNESDAY

Saturday there were 2 festivals going on at once.  One was the Return to the River Salmon Festival.  Featured here are some of the Native American Dancers that performed during the event.

Some pretty grass that I decided to photograph on our walk up to where the ducks (rubber ones) were released for the Ducky Derby.

Izzy The Camel is a popular attraction at the Ducky Derby

A view of a farm across the creek from where the festivals were held.  It was a cloudy day but only a "sprinkling" of rain fell so while it was windy & cold the rain held off to everyone's relief.

A sea of colorful ducks floating down towards the finishing line.

A lone duck that drifted away from the pack.

Hooray because the first Klicker Strawberries of the Season were ready on Saturday so we had our first shortcake of the summer.  Yum!

Just because he's too cute not so share,  Bandit enjoying the sun streaming into the living room.

Black and White Wednesday - The Ride of Your Life

Hello & Welcome!

I'm joining Adrienne (My Memory Art) today for Black & White Wednesdays.

Life is just a never ending carnival ride. - Ups, Downs, Twists and Turns,

You'll never know if it is going to come to a Stop or if the Ride has just begun.; so buckle your seat belt

because you're about to take the ride of your life!

I found that quote this morning and thought it fit these pictures perfectly.  And life really is like a carnival ride at times.

Below are the same photos in color for those who like to see the originals.

It's been a "carnival ride" type of week here so I'm a bit behind with catching up on your blogs.  Be patient, I'll get there eventually.

Black and White Wednesdays - Eye of the Tiger

Joining Adrienne from (My Memory Art) for:

It's strange how sometimes when you are looking for a certain thing to photograph you often end up finding something totally unexpected.  That is just the case here today.  I was out on a walk one day in search of some new fences to share for another meme and just happened to look up as I was walking down the alley and spotted the photo below.  I knew it would be perfect to use for Black and White Wednesdays.

It's the eye of the tiger
It's the thrill of the fight
Rising up to the challenge of our rival
And the last known survivor
Stalks his prey in the night
And he's watching us all with the eye of the tiger

This photo was converted to Black and White and edited on Pic Monkey.

Below is the colored version of the same photo for those who enjoy seeing the original as well.

Black and White Wednesday

These are Moon Flowers. - Several of you have mentioned that these resemble other plants by the name of Datura or Angel Trumpets.  Turns out they are all one and the same plant.   Just a lot of different names for them.  Apparently they are also poisonous plants.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's fun to see how different things look in Black and White compared to Color.  Hope you've enjoyed these lovely blooms.

Now for the colored versions:
