Willy Nilly Friday 5 - May 28, 2021

 Happy Friday!

It's been awhile since I've posted for WILLY NILLY FRIDAY FIVE
so today I'm going to join in.  Although Tom doesn't run the blog hop anymore you can still post photos for it.

1.  May Day flowers - This is just one of the two May Day baskets that I was lucky enough to receive.  This one my sweet hubby gave me.

2.
I've always thought it was fun to see birds sitting on wires.  -  Check out the video below of what one man did with birds sitting on wires.

3.Just a stray kitty that shows up occasionally to eat the cat food we leave out.  This one is very skittish so I took this shot through the window as it was leaving the front porch.

4. Dragon Lily -
Dracunculus vulgaris

My granddaughters boyfriend told me about this plant that grows near where he lives and I waited patiently until it bloomed.  He described what the flowers would look like and I google (stinky purple flowers) and eventually found out what this plant is.  It's Dracunculus Vulgaris - It apparently smells bad and attracts flies, it's also toxic so in handling it you should wear gloves.  I think it's pretty cool looking though.

5. Goosey Lucy - Spotted peaking out front a fence on.

6.  Bonus shot:  Haven't shared much about our newest family member, Darby the dog.  So here is a picture of him and Coleen.

He's going to start some training next Friday and hopefully he will learn some manners.  He's the sweetest dog but needs help learning what is good behavior and what is bad behavior.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend.

Willy Nilly Friday Five and Friendly Fill-Ins

Welcome!

It's time for some Friday Fun.  Joining Friendly Fill-Ins & Willy-Nilly Friday Five today.  Scroll down for WNFF.

Let's start out with FRIENDLY FILL-INS hosted by Annie on McGuffy's Reader.

Here are the questions:

1. I would like to ask                   why                         ?

2. My favorite fast food restaurant is                          .

3. If I could go to any concert of someone still performing, it would be                        .

4. My Winter pastime is usually                           , because                        .

My answers:
1.  I would like to ask people in general why they feel the need to post such negative stuff on Social Media all the time.  I don't know about you but I'm so tired of reading their complaints that I could scream.

2. My favorite fast food restaurant is McDonalds, Mainly because I like their Salads & Fries.

3. If I could go to any concert of someone still performing, it would be Neil Diamond.

4.  My Winter pastime is usually Reading, because I don't have to go outside to do it.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1.  Our cats got a new Christmas Present with this awesome cat tree.  Here you can see 3 of them checking it all out.  We've moved it into the living room now that the Christmas tree is down.  Here it was in the corner of the dining room.

2.  Spotted the snow on the telphone line in December and thought it looked pretty cool.  - I went outside later and the same snow plopped on the ground right before I walked under the wire.  Whew...it missed me.

3.  Just a squirrel on the fence enjoying the peanuts I leave out for them.

4.  Another "forgotten" photo that I meant to share but never did.

Faded and peeling paint on a fence.

5.  An "Abstract" black and white shot I took last year.

It's a bench and shadows.

That's it for me this week. - Hope you've enjoyed your visit.

Black and White Wednesday - Scenes from Bennington Lake

Today I'm joining Adrienne (My Memory Art) for:
BLACK & WHITE WEDNESDAYS

We took a quick drive up to Bennington Lake the other day & I snapped a few photos while we were there.  I'm sharing them today.  I've converted them to BW but I'll include the colored versions too.

Be sure to click to enlarge:

Spotted this Falcon (correct me if this is a Hawk)  I was quite please at how close I was able to get with the 75-300mm lense that came with my new camera. - Although this has been cropped.

Queen Anne's Lace in bloom.  One of the shots I took while practicing Depth of Field (DOF) shots.

A Dragon Fly we spotted - Coleen pointed it out to me.  Loving the shimmering wings.

Fencing and grass near one of the trails that you can walk on around the lake area.
