Photo Art Friday - October 12, 2012

Happy Friday! - Another busy week here.  Bowling on Tuesday and since I forgot to post my Scores on Wednesday here they are:  162-142-136 (okay I must have been getting tired by the end of the last game).  Other activities included making an Apple Crisp for my brother and another one for our family, taking my mom to the doctor (nothing serious) going to Coleen's conference with her mom, and having my nieces over for Macaroni and Cheese to celebrate one of their birthdays and putting up the Halloween decorations.

So now it's time to join in with Bonnie (Pixel Dust Photo Art) for Photo Art Friday.

This week the optional theme was:  Liquid.  I have a couple of different pieces to share today.

Here is my first piece:

This piece is a photo I took of Coleen at a friends end of the school swimming party a couple of summer's ago.  She had just jumped off the diving board into the pool and I caught the splash of water as she entered the pool.

I decided not to use any textures with this piece.  Instead I adjusted some of the levels of brightness, contrast, etc...on PicMonkey and then used the Intrepid feature to add a bit more drama to the photo. Then added a Drop Shadow and Simple Frame.  I love how this turned out.

Next up a piece I did using a photo of one of my Rose Bushes with dewdrops of rain on the leaf.  I added Bonnie's texture:  Drips of Rainbow Overlay at 60% and added a Museum Mat frame.

Below is the finished piece.

That's it for this week.  I hope you'll pop on over to Bonnie's blog and check out the other participants art work.

  1. Both of these are great images, Ida, but I really like the water one! It definitely doesn't need any textures! Fabulous.

  9. Oh, what a momentous capture ... you should be thrilled with it. That picture will bring back the memories of that whole day every time you look at it. I love the leaf with water droplets as well. I have tried and tried to get a droplet with a reflection in it ... all for naught. Yours is beautiful.

  15. The splash photo is fun--amazing to catch the movement of the water in midair like that. But I find that your photo of the rose leaf with water drops is just beautiful!

  18. Love the splash picture! It has so much texture effect without creating it with the special tools. Looks pretty cool!
