This is my 2nd post today. It's a good day to stay inside. For the second day in a row here school has been delayed 2 hours due to icy road conditions. It's so not fun being out in this weather. I did manage to get Coleen to school yesterday and take my mom to her doctor's appointment as the roads had cleared up enough to drive on them safely. But enough about the weather.
Let's join Theresa (The Run-a-round Ranch Report) for GOOD FENCES.
My fence today is one that I was actually photographing when the squirrel from last weeks fence caught my attention. After I snapped the shots of the squirrel I went back and took these photos of this lovely concrete block fence. It bordered the property of an Apartment complex.
These photos were taken about a month ago (Nov. 6th) and the fall foliage was still evident as you can see by the lovely trees behind the concrete wall. Don't you just love the pretty red roses that were outside the wall and still blooming. - (They aren't now).
A peek through one of the patterns on the wall at a Hydrangea that was still blooming. I like the pretty greenery paired with that blue flower.
Another view facing the other direction. Again you can see the fall trees, the roses, the lamp posts and the pattern withing the blocks.
Finally while this isn't a fence I thought it worthy of sharing.
The sign outside the Apartment Complex had this wonderful leaf pattern painted on it. I didn't take a photo of the entire sign since the address of the complex was also on the sign. I just thought it was neat and hope you do as well.
Don't forget to join in on the fun and check out the other great fences.
Please excuse my lack of visiting blogs this week. I was sick Monday and it's just been a very hectic week trying to keep up with everything. I will do my best to check out your blogs and comment as time allows.
Have a great day.
that concrete fence is beautiful with the fall colors and blooms around it! i like the leaf pattern on the sign, too. thanks, ida!
ReplyDeleteI like this see-through fence with glimpses of the garden beyond.
ReplyDeleteThat is a neat looking stone wall. I love how there are designs cut out. Also I loved the leaf pattern also. Great shots Ida!
ReplyDeleteWhat a couple of cool and unique fences!
ReplyDeletethat concrete fence has so much 'character', just beautiful. i love the lamppost on it and the see through the holes shot is super.. beautiful find. love the etched leaves to
ReplyDeleteIt may not be a fence, but it does the same job as a fence. But it is much more beautiful to look at :)
ReplyDeleteAnd, there was a little bit of a fence in the first picture I think :D

Very nice. Looks like they do a nice job tending the gardens.
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful fences. Very creative with the open parts being used for a design. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is my first time participating in Good Fences and I am really enjoying seeing all the different kind of fences there are.
ReplyDeletelol, that´s a saturdy fence for sure. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI am happy to say that I bribed my daughter to make any cookies for us this year. She is much more patient with the process than I am at this point. So no cookie pics from me. That's a beautiful fence and I love the leaf painting on that sign. Nice!
ReplyDeleteReally pretty fence with those cheerful roses! The same around here, all the color is gone day by day and the view is turning grayish. I think many of us tend to neglect our blog these days that are so full of activities, maybe after New Years we get back to it full time. I'm sorry you've been sick! I hope you feel better by now.
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised at how much color there is from just a few weeks ago. That's an interesting way to construct a fence, I like that you can see through it.
ReplyDeleteThat's the prettiest concrete block wall I've ever seen!
ReplyDelete~
That's a different fence! I like the way they made the openings.
ReplyDeleteThat's an interesting use of cinder blocks..I've seen them used as underpinning, but I don't think I have ever seen an entire fence. I hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great find for a fence!
ReplyDeleteHello Ida, lovely photos.. The roses are pretty. Great fence shots.
ReplyDeleteI love it, especially because you can peek through and see what is on the other side. I like the leaf pattern too! Sorry about the cold. It was sunny and 81 here today, but just last week we had temps in the 20's. That's north Florida for you!
ReplyDeleteLove this fence...your photos are great.
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming by to see our new great-grandson....:)
Really nice photos of a great fence!
ReplyDeleteI like the openings in the wall! It is nice to look through and see the greenery.
ReplyDeleteThis was just so much fun to see! :) I really need to go photograph some local fences one of these days and join in :) What you manage to capture is amazing.
ReplyDeleteAt first you would think that a fence made of concrete blocks would be boring. But then, looking at the one you found and show us here, I have to say 'no'. This is pretty neat. Well seen, Ida.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen a cinder block fence before.
ReplyDeleteLove the leave prints on the fence.
Lovely images of the concrete block wall!!
ReplyDeleteAnd I really like the leaf pattern from the apartment complex, very clever and artsy!!
Love peeking through at the pretty Hydrangea.
ReplyDeleteHope that you are feeling better. I too have had a nasty cold that just keeps hanging on!
I love how you captured the flowers through the holes of the fence. Great shots.
ReplyDeleteOh, cool! I like how you photographed the open pattern in the concrete wall. Yes, those roses are pretty. Love the leaves on the weathered wood, too. It's been wet here, but normal. I'd be happy if it rained all winter. These last two dry winters we've had were starting to worry me. Stay safe in those trecherous driving conditions.
ReplyDeleteThat is a very sturdy fence and I like the squares made in it. Also the leaves are very pretty on that sign
ReplyDeletegreat shots!
ReplyDeleteWow, that wall is creatively constructed from profane elements!
ReplyDeleteAnd: when you haven't leaves, you can them paint ... ;-) (you can do it with other things too, what you need - )
You wouldn't think a concrete block fence would be attractive necessarily ...but this one is! Great shots!
ReplyDeleteI think this still counts as a fence, and it's pretty. I like that it is not a blank brick wall but has a nice pattern in it. The view through that pattern with the blue hydrangea is really pretty. As is the sign with the leaves on it.
ReplyDeleteThe happy colorful leaves in your blog header brought a big smile on my face this morning! Thank you.
These cement walls are near enough to be counted as "fences' in my opinion. A fine series. I like how sturdy the walls appear...and they make as regret the passing of summer.
ReplyDeletewonderful! it's the perfect blend of urban with the concrete and Nature with all that lovely vine. very unique
ReplyDeleteThe red roses really dress up the concrete fence.
ReplyDeleteLove the fence! I like that they included a the open pattern. Most times a block wall fence is just so plain. This one is well done. The plantings soften it just enough.
ReplyDeleteNice photos, I love these leaves on the fence !!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful wall! You got some lovely shots of it with the roses and fall color! Love that falling leaves design on the last fence as well!
ReplyDeleteGreat fence shots! I love the third one. And I love the roses!
ReplyDeleteIt is such a gloomy icy day here, so your pictures with the lovely flowers were a welcome sight.
