Good Fences #108 - Vines Revisited

Welcome! - It's a lovely morning here (the sun is shining!) and I'm excited to share some GOOD FENCES with you.
Let's join Theresa from The Run-a-round Ranch Report and have a great time together.

Way back in February I featured the fence and vine pictured below.  See full post HERE

At that time I had no idea what that vine was.  Someone said it reminded them of a Eucalyptus Gum vine but I had no clue whether they were right or not.  However I recently was driving past the same property and noticed that the vines were in bloom!

I knew after checking the flowers that it wasn't a Eucalyptus Gum Vine and that Leslie Miller (Running With Scissors) had correctly guessed what that vine actually is.

Turns out this vine is a Clematis! - I couldn't identify the exact type although it looks very much like one called an, Clematis Armandii.

Thankfully I happened to have my camera with me when I spotted that the vine was blooming and I quickly pulled over and snapped a few shots to share with you all.

Enjoy:

They sure dress up that fence nicely!

Have a wonderful day.

  16. Very pretty! I love Clematis, I used to see them on all the old iron fences in German Village, Columbus, Ohio.

Most of those were the big purple petal variety.
