Mug Reveal Day!
It's time for the Tea Cup/Mug Exchange Reveal.
This event is hosted by Stephanie, The Enchanting Rose Blog .
It's always a lot of fun to participate in this great event. You get to send stuff to someone and meet them and then get a package from a different person and get to meet them too. So you make 2 new friends that way.
I signed my mom up to participate this year. She's 88 and loves getting mail. She really isn't able to write much any more though but she sure had fun getting her package in the mail. Her partner that she received from was,
Patti Boyd. Patti doesn't have a blog.
This is what Patti sent my mom.
This really pretty mug which was a tea infuser. It was packaged in a really cute matching box.
Mom doesn't drink tea/coffee anymore but she liked the Tang and the Cocoa that she received. There was cookies and jams which were enjoyed as well and a pretty book mark.
Also a lovely embroidered tea towel, some scissors, a pretty little tatted decoration. Such delicate work on that., Somre pretty butterfly clips which mom used to decorate with. Plus a Swinging butterfly decoration. Mom loves butterflies.
A closer view of the tea towel and tatted ornament.
Thank you so much Patti for making my mom's day a little brighter with your wonderful package and sweet note.
Mom sent to: Shelly Kaunzner. - She doesn't have a blog.
Next up: My partner who had my name was: Bev Kirk - Bev does not have a blog.
Here is what I received:
This really cute mug, some salted caramel cocoa (Yum), Chamomile Tea, French Vanilla Coffee and a Chocolate Mint candy. - I liked them all.
Hand Lotion and Some Flower Seeds. - I love flowers.
A coloring journal and pencils. - This has some great designs in it.
A super neat pot scrubbing pad. We really like this pad for doing dishes.
Thank you so much Bev for all the wonderful items.
My partner that I sent to was:
Stacy Duncan. She blogs here: http://www.intentionalmommyhood.com/
Thanks again Stephanie for hosting this event. It really is a lot of fun to participate in.

Friday Fun
Happy Friday!
Posting Today for:
FELINE FRIDAY - See #6
WILLY-NILLY FRIDAY FIVE
TEN THINGS OF THANKFUL
1. I'm thankful for bacon - Everything always seems to taste better with bacon. I love BLT sandwiches.
Yes bacon is awesome but did you know you can use it for, Art? Check out this bacon art.
2. I'm thankful for walks around our neighborhood where I can see things like this.
3. I'm thankful for being able to drive around and find different things to share and for people who dare to be different.
Not your typical color for a door but I like it. Here are some other unusual doors.
4. I'm thankful for Food Bloggers. There you can find great recipes for food like this: Beef Tips and Gravy (Found HERE)
5. I'm thankful for Nature and Beautiful Trees like these Magnolia's or Tulip Trees as we call them.
Did you know they come in other colors beside's pink?
How about a Yellow one...
6. I'm thankful for having a sense of humor because you need one when you see things like this...
7. I'm thankful my mom taught me how to cook or rather let me learn to cook by allowing me into the kitchen to try out recipes on my own. I finally have mastered a flaky pie crust and oh my Apple Pie never tasted better.
8. I'm thankful for music. This week I started listening to a Bob Seger album (Ride Out) that I have and really haven't listened to all that often. It has some great songs on it. I wanted to play a song called, Listen from the album but YouTube doesn't have it. So how about California Stars instead.
Towards the end of the drive down it the road was super "rutty" and I had to really drive slow so as not to drive off into one of the ruts and get stuck.
10. I'm thankful that I can see things that I would never get to see if it were not for bloggers like Jackie (Junkboat Travels). Check out this POST, It's pretty awesome. Thanks Jackie for sharing.
That's it for today. Thanks for stopping by. Have a very Happy Easter.

Good Fences - A Wind Damaged Fence
Joining Gosia (Looking for Identity) today for GOOD FENCES AROUND THE WORLD
So last week I posted a photo of some fallen trees that we saw after some strong winds went through the area:
Here you can see the large pine tree that first toppled over. On it's way down it broke off a large branch of the birch tree behind it.
You can see in this shot the broken branch and some of the power lines that came down as well.
This was the mess laying in the street until crews could come and clean it up.
A day later we walked down to get pictures of the fence after everything had been cleaned up.
It sure mangled up that section of the fence.
A closer look at the twisted metal.
Popped it right out of the other section of the fence.
The opposite side where it popped out of the brick pillar.
Thankfully it only took out just a small section of their fence but still it will be costly to repair.
Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check out the other Fence participants. - Have a great day.

Willy Nilly Friday Five
Happy Friday!
Joining Tanya (Around Roanoke) for WILLY-NILLY FRIDAY FIVE
1. My mom & I took a drive up a back road the other day so I could get some pictures of the valley but it was so overcast you really couldn't see it that well. We did spot more deer in the same field we did last year so I had to take pictures of them. Yes they were quite far off and even with my zoom you can't seem them that well. Can you tell how many are in the shot?
Be sure to click to enlarge for a better view. - The answer is at the end of the post.
2. We had a beautiful sunset the other night. I walked down to the school (about 2 blocks) to get this shot so it would be free of power lines.
3. I was on my way to the store the other day when I noticed this house was getting some new roofing. Of course it's been pretty rainy here lately so they haven't exactly started on the roof yet but all the shingles are up there. I just happened to think it was unusual to see them wrapped in purple plastic. Naturally I had to get a picture. This is for you Debbie (It's All About Purple)
4. Coming back from the bowling alley on Wednesday I saw something running across someone's lawn and thought, "What is that?" I managed to pull over and get my camera out and snapped a couple of pictures. Sadly they weren't the best of pictures but you'll get the general idea. It was a squirrel...so what's so unusual about that you might ask?
Well this one was a mutated squirrel. Instead of it being brown it was a pale tan color with white splotches and a white face. It was over cast and I was parked where I shouldn't have been parked so you'll just have to make do with the shot that turned out the best. - Believe me it was one "weird" looking squirrel.
5. Finally today the wind has been blowing at a steady pace. Coleen and I drove to Safeway to get lunch and on the way we noticed a street closed sign. Now around here that usually means they are working on the streets but in this case it meant this....
A large fir tree blew over and took out a branch of a birch tree as well. We walked up, being careful of the downed power lines and snap a few shots. I'm just sharing this one for now.
Answer for the number of deer in photo: (14).
Finally to join Steve (BF Dude) for FELINE FRIDAY...
