1. It "Snowed" here yesterday.
"My Hero"
Oh goodie gumdrops! Most of you probably know I'm not a big fan of winter or snow but this year I'm trying to find it's special beauty. My friend Debbie, (It's All About Purple) is teaching me that snow makes for great photo opts and you know, she's right.
2. Dogs like snow...
Pixie went crazy when I took her out.
Cricket had a grand time too.
3. Crows come out to eat no matter what kind of weather you are having.
I stomped down the area around the telephone pole where I normally put out the peanuts and threw some on the freshly plowed sidewalk and within minutes there were quite a number of crows grabbing up the peanuts right and left.
4. There is nothing more joyous then a child's smile.
5. Sugar/Cinnamon Toast is a perfect breakfast on a cold snowy morning.
Bonus thought.... Spring will eventually arrive. - I saw Robin's earlier this week.
Edited in Pic Monkey to give it the watercolor look.
Have a great weekend. It's supposed to snow again today and maybe tomorrow as well. Then next week they say we may get up to nearly 50 degree's.
Awe great shots!! What breed is Cricket? Pug? I almost thought french bulldog until I noticed her ears were not erect. I absolutely love snow and wish we would get more than what we do.
ReplyDeleteYep, we got snow in Portland yesterday and I'm lovin' it!
ReplyDeletePixie and Cricket are beyond cute, it's so fun to watch dogs playing, running around and having a good time.
ReplyDeleteAnd Cinnamon toast (with a mug of hot chocolate) on a cold snowy day sounds perfect.
Love all your snow photos! I'm not really a big fan of winter, either (missin' my flip flops), but it does make for some pretty pictures!
ReplyDeleteoh ida, i just love that i inspire you. ya' know what....i can feel your joy in these images, much like the pups!!
ReplyDeletewhat a great image of colleen, with her million dollar smile!!
i forgot to say that my yard is loaded with robins as well. even though i love winter, if i had wings, i'd be outta' here!!
ReplyDeleteIt takes some heart to learn to appreciate all the snow and cold this year. The photo of the robin is really special.
ReplyDeletePixie sure does look happy. Great shot of Colleen as well.
ReplyDeleteWhere I used to live the crows annoyed me as they would gobble up all the food meant for the smaller birds! They do look well against snow, I admit.
I know I am in the minority when I say I really do like snow, but you made the most of your snowfall. Terrific pics! I, being a pug lover, like the one of Cricket the best. Our Olive hasn't got a problem with the snow as long as it's not over her head. We're getting close now.
ReplyDeleteYes, snow creates a beautiful backdrop for wonderful photos. But so do flowers and green grass. I may be just a little bitter about our record breaking cold winter.
ReplyDeleteOn a positive note, your photos are stunning, especially the ones with the birds.
Andrea
snow and dogs - great combination for photos. I read today that it's only 42 days until spring, can't wait.
ReplyDeletehave a great day.
i am loving "Cricket" - so cute!! love it ... snow & dogs ... i never have met a dog that loves snow .. most i know are either scared or no likey. ( :
ReplyDeleteBeautiful snow images. It's snowing here as I write. We may get a couple of inches by morning. Colleen looks like she's enjoying the snow...love her coat! I'm with you, cinnamon toast is a favorite breakfast to me or a late night snack! Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteI love the joyful dogs in the snow! Those are great action shots. And Coleen looks so happy. You caught the light just right on her face. I hope you're enjoying the winter more, thinking of it as an opportunity for photos. You are getting some really wonderful images!
ReplyDeleteYou received a lot of snow!
ReplyDeleteColeen has such a pretty smile. Hope you all will enjoy the weekend. I love the photo effects on the robin pic.
Funny pictures , yes, I like to see those dogs having a good time , nice shots !
ReplyDeleteGlad to see the dogs, and the girl, enjoying the snow!
ReplyDeleteDogs like snow until it is deeper than they are tall. Our problem this year even with two golden retrievers.
ReplyDeleteOh, you have snow! The picture with the crows is the best...
ReplyDeleteI wish you that winter is ending soon - one week winter - for the beauty - that's enough, I think ...
That poor robin is going to freeze! I find I only enjoy winter if there is a photo to take. This is the time of year when I have a tendency to be a hermit.
ReplyDeleteI love the dogs in the snow and the precious child smile. Innocence is bliss!!
ReplyDeleteYou've found lots of things to love about winter! That bright smile is pretty wonderful and I like the playfulness of the dogs.
ReplyDeleteKaren
hi Ida...I saw a robin this week also!!! Spring must be on its way!!
ReplyDeleteI saw a robin this week also...spring must be on its way!! Love your robin photo...
ReplyDeleteI think the robins are as confused by this weather as we are! I saw one this week and thought "whoa" -- it's way too early! :)
ReplyDeleteLove these snow pictures. We don't get it often so this is like a fantasy to me. I know it can be a hardship, but it's so pretty. I really love how you included the cinnamon toast in this winter line up. I grew up loving cinnamon toast and cocoa on a cold day. Beautiful bird photo, too!
ReplyDeleteEveryone looks happy in the snow! :)
ReplyDeleteI normally like some snow, however, I am ready to be done with it. We are supposed to get some warmer days later in the week...I hope a lot of this stuff leaves then!
ReplyDeleteYour doggies do look like they are having a blast.
Your dogs totally made me smile. Love the crow shot! that's sure a lot of snow to melt. Hope it's soon for ya. Glad your feeling better too
ReplyDeleteI love the Byrne quote. (Nature must really hate Manitoba!)But I agree that snow makes for some wonderful photo opps.
ReplyDeleteThese shots are all great, but I think my favourite is the one of Coleen. That cinnamon toast looks awfully good, too!
I love the Byrne quote. (Nature really must hate Manitoba!)Snow does make for some beautiful photos, though, and you've obviously proved that!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite is the one of Coleen. But that cinnamon toast looks awfully good, too!
I do love the dogs romping! Glad you found some beauty in the snow.
