My answers:
1.  I would like to ask people in general why they feel the need to post such negative stuff on Social Media all the time.  I don't know about you but I'm so tired of reading their complaints that I could scream.

2. My favorite fast food restaurant is McDonalds, Mainly because I like their Salads & Fries.

3. If I could go to any concert of someone still performing, it would be Neil Diamond.

4.  My Winter pastime is usually Reading, because I don't have to go outside to do it.

1.  Our cats got a new Christmas Present with this awesome cat tree.  Here you can see 3 of them checking it all out.  We've moved it into the living room now that the Christmas tree is down.  Here it was in the corner of the dining room.

2.  Spotted the snow on the telphone line in December and thought it looked pretty cool.  - I went outside later and the same snow plopped on the ground right before I walked under the wire.  Whew...it missed me.

3.  Just a squirrel on the fence enjoying the peanuts I leave out for them.

4.  Another "forgotten" photo that I meant to share but never did.

Faded and peeling paint on a fence.

5.  An "Abstract" black and white shot I took last year.

It's a bench and shadows.

That's it for me this week. - Hope you've enjoyed your visit.

Friday is Fun

Welcome and Happy Friday!

Let's join Tanya (Around Roanoke) for WILLY-NILLY FRIDAY FIVE

1.  Most of my long time readers know that I am not a huge fan of winter or snow.  So it comes as no surprise that I wasn't to thrilled with yesterdays snow fall.  Coleen on the other hand loved it.  Here she is this morning enjoying a little time outside before heading off to school.

2.  A friend of mine sent me a link to where you can find out where all the gorgeous fall colors are in each of the states.  While it's too late to visit these areas now the pictures are worth looking at and it gives you a reference for next year.  Check it out here:
Here is a little of our own fall foliage and also one from today with the snow on them.

I think I prefer the warmer one for sure.

3.  If you enjoy snow you might want to make some paper snowflakes to decorate you house.  Here's a place for learning how to make paper snowflakes.  http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Paper-Snowflake .

My mom's dog, Pixie enjoying a little romp out in the snow this morning.

4.  It's now "Soup" weather and who doesn't like a nice hot bowl of soup on a cold and snowy day.  We had this soup the other night and it's delicious.  I alter the recipe though as we don't like that much tomato taste so instead I used Cream of Mushroom soup in place of the tomato.  I also added some cabbage to the vegetable mix.  - So here's a fun LINK to some silly resturant names you might enjoy.

5.  Did you ever make snow icecream when you were a kid?  I loved that stuff and would you believe there are actual recipes on how to make it.
Found this YouTubeVideo on making snow ice cream.  Enjoy if you have freshly fallen snow.

Helix enjoying a stretch in the snow this morning.  My entry  for FELINE FRIDAY.

Also sharing this one of Eric the cat for FELINE ART

Joining in with Hilary (Feeling Beachie) for FOLLOW FRIDAY FOUR FILL-IN FUN.

The statements:
  1. I just ____
  2. ___ is _____
  3. If I could, I would ________
  4. _____makes me______
My Answers:

1.  I just don't have enough time in the day to get everything done that I want to.  Anyone else have that problem?

2. Snow is not my friend I mean...snow is beautiful!

3.  If I could, I would move to a warmer climate in winter.  I say that every winter but I've lived here all my life so I doubt I'd really go through with it if I could.

4.  Melting snow makes me SMILE :o)  -  It's not melting that fast but in about a week it's suppose to be back up in the 40's and raining so it's not going to stick around that long.

See I really am trying to embrace winter weather with a more positive attitude.  I still don't like it but hey you might as well try to find something positive about it because it's that time of year.

Have a great day & a good weekend.

Random 5 Friday - The Winter Edition

If you are here for PHOTO ART FRIDAY please click on the link to be taken to the post.

It's Friday and once again time to join in the fun of Random 5 Friday hosted by the wonderful Nancy from (A Rural Journal)

So let's get started shall we...

I saw this quote and just couldn't resist posting it.

Winter is Nature's Way of saying, "Up Yours!" - Robert Byrne

1.  It "Snowed" here yesterday.

                                                     "My Hero"

Oh goodie gumdrops!  Most of you probably know I'm not a big fan of winter or snow but this year I'm trying to find it's special beauty. My friend Debbie, (It's All About Purple) is teaching me that snow makes for great photo opts and you know, she's right.

2.  Dogs like snow...

Pixie went crazy when I took her out.

Cricket had a grand time too.

3.  Crows come out to eat no matter what kind of weather you are having.

I stomped down the area around the telephone pole where I normally put out the peanuts and threw some on the freshly plowed sidewalk and within minutes there were quite a number of crows grabbing up the peanuts right and left.

4.   There is nothing more joyous then a child's smile.

5.  Sugar/Cinnamon Toast is a perfect breakfast on a cold snowy morning.

Bonus thought.... Spring will eventually arrive. - I saw Robin's earlier this week.

Edited in Pic Monkey to give it the watercolor look.

Have a great weekend.  It's supposed to snow again today and maybe tomorrow as well.  Then next week they say we may get up to nearly 50 degree's.

A Winter's Day

Well darn that Groundhog! - Look what happened here...

It started yesterday during the Super Bowl Game....Speaking of which,  Congratulations to the Seattle Seahawks!!!  What a game.

Fred the cute kitten doesn't look so happy about the snow today!

Ghost, his brother is indifferent. - Both are now resting on my mom's front porch out of the cold.  Oh how I wish we could take them in but they are managing this wintery weather with nice, fluffy coats of fur.

The Doves were out eating the bird seed I threw out for them this morning.

The Crows were out to gathering up peanuts that I leave out for them and the squirrels.

The lilac tree, I just like the way the snow is softly falling around the branches in this shot.

A Trellis leaning up against our back fence made for some fun snow patterns.

Perhaps if the snow hangs around Coleen, Greta & I may build a snowman this afternoon.
