There will be a lot going on in this post today. Be sure to read the entire post for the different memes. (Feline Art, Feline Friday, Six Word Fridays and Willy Nilly Friday Five) - I promise you they are all here. I do this so as not to have to create several posts.
Joinging Tanya (Around Roanoke) for WILLY-NILLY FRIDAY FIVE.
1.Today is a day that will forever be etched in my memory. To all who died that day & to all who serve to protect our rights and freedom I thank you.
2. Thought I would share a cute photo of this baby tiger that they had on display at the Fair last week. It was part of an exhibit from the Walk on The Wild Side animal rescue in Oregon. Click on the link to read more about this place. Coleen loved this exhibit and adores animals of all kinds. She would like someday to work with helping to save animals.
3. We had rain last week and it was wonderful. I took a shot of the raindrops on one of my roses and just wanted to share it with you.
This made me think of the line from Mary Poppins - Raindrops on Roses and Whiskers on Kittens. - These ARE a few of my favorite things.
4. I walked out the front door the other day and was scared by a really shrill cry of a bird. Looking around I spotted this woodpecker sitting on the telephone wires. I'm not sure what type of a woodpecker this is so those of you who know can help me identify it. - I've seen it a few times eating some of the seeds/corn we leave out for the birds and squirrels but it always flies off before I can get a picture. This time I got lucky.
5. Sharing a piece of carnival art. The side of one of the rides at the fair. Don't they look like a fun loving bunch!

Joining Adrienne (My Memory Art) for SIX WORD FRIDAYS. - The prompt this week was, Green.
I'm not very poetic at times so today I searched for a quote that would fit the (6) word theme and found a photo in my archives that I really liked and paired them together. Below is the result.
I am also including this You Tube Video of my favorite song about the color green.

Also Joining FELINE ART & FELINE FRIDAY with the following:
This is our neighbors cat, Ghost whom we've sort of adopted and taken under our wing. We feed him and recently took him to the vet because he had an abcess on one of his paws. Oddly our Vet will not allow us to have him neutered even though the owners signed a paper stating we could. They said we'd have to claim ownership of the cat and tell our neighbors etc....which is so stupid. We've been taking care of him since he was a kitten basically feeding him and such so he's pretty much our cat. We'll find another way to have him neutered because he needs to be as it helps to control the unwanted pet population.
Have a fantastic weekend and thank you for stopping by.
Enjoyed all your photos today.
ReplyDeleteI think it's silly for the vet to not do what you want with your cat....
First, before I forget, that looks like a Northern Flicker. You would think the vet would be happy that someone wants to take responsible action for the cat...and just do it. I do like that picture of it.
ReplyDeletelove that carnival and the paws on that baby tiger...love the kitty on the roof and am listening to Johnny, have not heard this one before. great post and you touched on every single meme
ReplyDeleteNice variety of images. I really enjoyed hearing Johnny Cash singing a song for your theme.
ReplyDeleteGreat thoughts and photos.
ReplyDeleteThat is a nice verse and pic :-)
ReplyDeleteTake him to a different vet if possible quite a strange decision for a vet to make considering :-(
Have a tanfastic week and thanks for waltzing by :-)
#1 Amen!
ReplyDelete#2 Nice little kitty.
#3 I can see why!
#4 Now this one reminds me of the song "Bird On The Wire" by Leonard Cohen.
#5 A barrel monkeys.
Great to hear John and June!

I wondered how Ghost has been doing. Sorry about the paw. Years ago my cat had one in his paw too. That is a fun carnival painting-Curious George meets Tarzan is what I thought when I saw it. Wonderful close up of the tiger kitten. We had a lot of rain last week.
ReplyDeleteWhat nice photos today. What a lovely cat. That is silly I guess. When you take him to the vet anyway.
ReplyDeleteI love that picture of the sleeping tiger. I also really like photographing raindrops on roses too and I loved the song as well.
Have a lovely weekend.
That looks like a cat on a mission. Too bad your vet won't let you get him neutered. Maybe you'll have to go with the neighbor and just pay for it.
ReplyDeleteThis cat we have was a neighborhood stray and I took him in to get him neutered, and then he adopted us.
Terrific and varied collection today.
ReplyDeleteThe baby tiger is so cute.
ReplyDeleteThat's pretty stupid that the vet won't neuter the cat especially since you're neighbors have signed a paper. So long as his bill is payed what's it matter.
lovely post.. so rich and beautiful.. I adore your green landscape :) there I pause and breath the memories of my oceans of green.. felt great to revisit it.. have an awesome weekend dear friend.. I answered your questions in 'wonderland' (thank you so much for keeping in touch) xxo
ReplyDeleteThe droplets are stunning!
ReplyDeletethe bird is a Flicker! Great photos ! Happy weekend to you.
ReplyDeleteSweet baby tiger. And beautiful rose, and field of green! A sad day today.
ReplyDeleteGee, I wonder where Coleen gets her desire to work with animals? These are all beautiful photos. Look at that beautiful green landscape. Especially love the photo of Ghost. Dumb rules, especially considering the owners signed a paper.
ReplyDeleteI only see a local woodpecker every once in a blue moon here so that was a nice capture!
ReplyDeleteSweet little tiger...hard to believe something so cute can grow up to be ferocious! :)
Great photos, I went to our 14th annual Minnesota 9-11 Tribute Concert last night, it's always such a bittersweet program but so very worthy for all. I say when it comes to my pets, I follow my heart, always, no matter what.
ReplyDeleteVery sad he wouldn't do what you asked. You'll find a way.
ReplyDeleteHave a terrific day. ☺
Could the owners go to the vets with you if they are able to? Love the photo of the cute tiger cub.
ReplyDeleteThe World will never forget September 11, 2001.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos!
Have a happy Sunday!
I would have guessed flicker - (the bird) - But, it would be a guess . . and, can you imagine? A visiting tiger???
ReplyDeleteHow fun
I will probably be humming "Favorite Things" the rest of the night! That song always makes me smile :)
ReplyDeleteyour 9-11 memorial image is just stunning. it is shameful that i did nothing like it on 9-11. i really love your green image also, well done!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe cutest picture of the tiger! :)
ReplyDeleteFabulous images and I love your memes! I think that woodpecker is a Northern Flicker.
ReplyDeleteI see you already have responses as to what kind of bird that is. There are a lot of them here in Oregon.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing Forty Shades of Green. Such a beautiful song.
I see you have linked up to a lot of different blog hops. I came over to your site after seeing your link up at Six Word Fridays.
