It is with a very sad heart that I have to say we lost our sweet Ghost kitty tonight. - I'm not entirely sure what happened. I went up to his room to let him out and found him dead in the litter box. My heart is broken right now. I just wanted to let you all know. I'll post a better memorial later this week.

Willy Nilly Friday Five and 1000 Posts
Welcome! - Today is a "milestone" day for this blog. This is my 1000th Post. I started this blog back in September of 2007. My first real post was this one: featuring a Tortellini recipe.
Alot has changed since then but I'm still blogging (when I can) and enjoying sharing with those of you who continue to follow my blog.
Up today for WILLY-NILLY FRIDAY FIVE:
1. Wild Elderberries. - Now I've heard of people making Elderberry Wine but I've never tried it.
Found this website with several recipes to use Elderberries with. Maybe I should give them a try sometime. http://www.twineagles.org/elderberry-recipes.html
2. Spotted this while out on a drive one afternoon:
4. Another view of wheat fields after harvest. That machine looks so tiny but I was high up on Scenic Loop shooting down into the valley.
Featured Cat of the week: Ghost - Isn't he a handsome cat.

Zebra or Horse or perhaps Zeborse! Also there seems to be a photo bomber peeking over the top of this critter.
3. Last weeks 52 Frame shot (Texture - was the theme) - This is Eliza a handmade doll that Coleen made all by herself. She's such a creative person. I hesitate to call her a child anymore since she's 13 now.
This weeks theme was (Beautiful Chaos) and here is the photo I used:

Sparks 8 - Expectancy
Welcome! - Well Thanksgiving is offically in the books for 2017 - Quite a busy week here. Thankfully "Turkey Day" was fairly calm and we had a nice meal with the family that was here. - Spent the day after getting the outside Christmas decorations put up. Always fun to see all the pretty lights, even though it's a lot of work getting them up.
So this week for SPARKS I'm sharing...
You never know where your next miracle will come from.
Now for AWWW MONDAYS....
Ghost decided to play peek-a-boo from the top of the stairs this morning. It made me smile & I hope it makes you smile too.
Have a great day!

Six Word Fridays and Willy Nilly Friday Five.
Memes I'm joining today: Six Word Fridays, Willy Nilly Friday Five,
This first set is both part of (SIX WORD FRIDAYS and WILLY NILLY FRIDAY FIVE)
Catching my breath, Making me sigh.
2. We took a short day trip on Saturday last weekend and visited the Tamastslikt Cultural Center. Sadly they would not allow photography inside the museum but I did get this picture of some Indians inside the lobby.
Grandpa and Coleen hamming it up for the camera.
3. As we were heading back home we happened to spot something really unusual on the side of the road so hubby turned around and drove back so I could photograph it.
A "Shoe Tree" - How many pairs do you see?
4. Hubby likes to read the arrest reports and such in the paper. He found this listed in the Police Reports:
"Patio chair seat cushions, packages of cigarettes and several pieces of barbecue chicken were stolen from the 500 block of Edith street on Tuesday."
That must have been a hungry thief! Funnier yet is who reports stolen pieces of chicken!
Our neighbors chickens, Bella (L) and Blondie (R) eating seeds & grain in our driveway.
5. We spotted this lovely little fountain in Weston, OR and I had to take a picture of it. This is only the top portion but I like how the shot turned out.
Finally an update on Ghost. He started limping on his paw again a couple of days ago so yesterday we had an appointment for him to see the Vet about his paw. We made sure to tell them that we were "claiming ownership of Ghost" and that the neighbor had been informed of that.
They couldn't find anything wrong with his paw other then he had been in a cat fight and he might have a bit of arthritis in his joints. - We had him updated on all his shots, he got medication for tape worms and he's now been neutered! He's in our basement for a few days while he heals and not happy about it but it's whats best for him. He's doing great though and while it cost us quite a bit for all that work we feel we did the right thing by him.
This shot was taken of Ghost about a week ago playing with a toy that I have where you shoot that orange disk into the air.
That's it for this week. - Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.
This first set is both part of (SIX WORD FRIDAYS and WILLY NILLY FRIDAY FIVE)
1. Fall is one of my favorite seasons and it's just around the corner. In fact there have already been signs of it showing up with cooler temperatures and the changing colors of the leaves. - This weeks theme word for Six Word Fridays was: Red
Red glowing
brightly against Autumn
skies.
Catching my breath, Making me sigh.

Friday Randoms and More - September 11, 2015
Welcome!
There will be a lot going on in this post today. Be sure to read the entire post for the different memes. (Feline Art, Feline Friday, Six Word Fridays and Willy Nilly Friday Five) - I promise you they are all here. I do this so as not to have to create several posts.
Joinging Tanya (Around Roanoke) for WILLY-NILLY FRIDAY FIVE.
1.Today is a day that will forever be etched in my memory. To all who died that day & to all who serve to protect our rights and freedom I thank you.
2. Thought I would share a cute photo of this baby tiger that they had on display at the Fair last week. It was part of an exhibit from the Walk on The Wild Side animal rescue in Oregon. Click on the link to read more about this place. Coleen loved this exhibit and adores animals of all kinds. She would like someday to work with helping to save animals.
This made me think of the line from Mary Poppins - Raindrops on Roses and Whiskers on Kittens. - These ARE a few of my favorite things.
4. I walked out the front door the other day and was scared by a really shrill cry of a bird. Looking around I spotted this woodpecker sitting on the telephone wires. I'm not sure what type of a woodpecker this is so those of you who know can help me identify it. - I've seen it a few times eating some of the seeds/corn we leave out for the birds and squirrels but it always flies off before I can get a picture. This time I got lucky.
5. Sharing a piece of carnival art. The side of one of the rides at the fair. Don't they look like a fun loving bunch!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Joining Adrienne (My Memory Art) for SIX WORD FRIDAYS. - The prompt this week was, Green.
I'm not very poetic at times so today I searched for a quote that would fit the (6) word theme and found a photo in my archives that I really liked and paired them together. Below is the result.
I am also including this You Tube Video of my favorite song about the color green.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Also Joining FELINE ART & FELINE FRIDAY with the following:
This is our neighbors cat, Ghost whom we've sort of adopted and taken under our wing. We feed him and recently took him to the vet because he had an abcess on one of his paws. Oddly our Vet will not allow us to have him neutered even though the owners signed a paper stating we could. They said we'd have to claim ownership of the cat and tell our neighbors etc....which is so stupid. We've been taking care of him since he was a kitten basically feeding him and such so he's pretty much our cat. We'll find another way to have him neutered because he needs to be as it helps to control the unwanted pet population.
Have a fantastic weekend and thank you for stopping by.

6 Word Fridays and 5 Random Photos
Happy Friday! - Remember to Click to Enlarge Photos for better detail.
Joining in with Adrienne (My Memory Art) for SIX WORD FRIDAYS and once again showcasing 5 Random Photos (never seen on my blog) with Quotes I found to go with them.
The word for this week was Move (or in my interpretation, Movement.)
First up for 6 Word Fridays (boy was it hard to find a 6 word quote dealing with Movement) - You'll notice this is the only photo with a 6 word quote but I've also include 6 Word Descriptions for the other photos.
Spotted this cat, running swiftly past
Sunday morning, what a mad dash.
Piercing Green Eyes, Melting one's soul
Thoughts Ever Hidden, Always in control.
Enchanting flowering bush, oh so colorful
Giving Pleasure to all who view.
Artistic Mural, Painted on a Wall,
Sounds of music, I now recall.
Something silly to make you laugh
Carpet Cleaning really can be fun.
(Just a word of explanation on that last photo. I was spraying carpet cleaning foam to get out some spots and when I looked the spray had formed this silly face. I just had to take a picture of it.)
