Friday Fun - July 24, 2015

It's Friday and since Tanya is on break from Willy-Nilly Friday Five I thought I'd go ahead and post my Five Things anyway for you to enjoy.  Plus I'll join in on a few other fun memes.

I have another "theme" post here today.  See if you can guess what the theme is.
1.
Bees Flying into a bee box

 2.
P-17 Flying Fortress - Wings of Freedom Tour - We went to the airport to see the planes but I captured this shot as the planes were leaving.  This was over my mom's house.

3.
Tiger Swallow Tail on Thistle - Mill Creek Drive  (I've been waiting all summer to capture a butterfly photo and finally got one.)

4.

Pelicans Flying over Mill Creek - I've got more photos of these amazing birds that I need to share.

5.

Dragonfly on Rocks - I'm not familiar with the name of this dragonfly though.

6. - Bonus as it still fits the theme. - Joining (Life's Sweets and Spices) here for Orange You Glad It's Friday.

I spotted this Food Truck while heading out on a drive and had to stop and take a picture of it.  It's not often you see a bright orange truck like this one.

So did you all guess my theme?  (Things With Wings)

Also joining Hilary for Follow Friday for Fill-In Fun.

The statements:
  1. I love the _____
  2. ___ isn’t my favorite _____
  3. I always cry____ .
  4. I used to ____ but I ____
My Answers:

1.  I love the time I spend visiting so many wonderful blogs and learning new things from them.

2. Summer isn't my favorite season.  - It's way to HOT here for my taste.

3.  I always cry at things like Parade's or Weddings or Graduations.  I'm very sentimental.

4.  I used to enjoy making handmade cards but I rarely take the time now to stamp and make cards.   I should get back into it though as it's fun and relaxing.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday - November 2, 2014

Welcome!  -  Hope your week has been a good one.  It seems anymore I can hardly find time to fit everything in that I want or need to do.  -  Thank you all for visiting and commenting.  I truly appreciate it.

So let's get started on this weeks SCAVENGER HUNT SUNDAY hosted by Ashley (Ramblings and Photos).  This weeks prompts were:
Dress Up, Candy, Fall Colors, Trick or Treat and Photographers Choice.

DRESS UP:

Coleen decided to "dress up" Spooky-boo in a Halloween costume.  He doesn't seem to be enjoying it but oh does he look cute.

CANDY:  We like to have a good selection of "candy" at our house on Halloween even though we don't get many trick-or-treaters coming by . I think we managed about 30 this year.

FALL COLORS:

While out for a photo drive we spotted this bush and vine and had to stop to get a picture.  I think these "fall colors" are really beautiful.

TRICK or TREAT:

Do you think this candy Coleen is eating was a "trick or a treat?"

PHOTOGRAPHERS CHOICE:

Coleen picked up one of the neighborhood cats (Helix) the other day and he was just soaking up the attention.  They looked so sweet together that I had to get a picture and it's my "photographers choice" this week.

I hope you've enjoyed my interpretations of the hunt.  Do check out the other participants.

NEXT WEEKS prompts are:  My View, In My Bag, Warm, Sleeping and Part of the Body.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday - October 26, 2014

Welcome.  -  Won't you join me on a little hunt...
Yes it's time for SCAVENGER HUNT SUNDAY hosted by the wonderful and talented Ashley from, (Ramblings and Photos).

This weeks prompts were:  Paint, Pumpkin, Family, Looking Cute and Photographers Choice.

PAINT:

We have a house in our neighborhood that is being repainted.  This house is sort of the "odd" house in the neighborhood to start out with since it's size is so much larger then any of the other homes so it looks a bit out of place.   Changing the color scheme didn't help any.  What do you think of this color combo together?

I should add though that the fancy emblem in the middle has now been painted white which helps a little but for me the pale soft yellow and the bright turquoise just don't jive.

PUMPKIN:  Or in this case.....Pumpkins.

Yes you've seen this truck before as I photograph it every year when we go to the pumpkin patch.  I liked how they had the one lone pumpkin sitting on the fender of the truck.

FAMILY:

Coleen is of course family and so is our sweet cat, Spooky-Boo and for Coleen all of her stuffed animals are "family" too.

LOOKING CUTE:  - The above photo could fit this prompt but I thought I'd give you this instead:

Spooky-Boo peeking at me from the stair landing.  I think he's looking pretty cute.

PHOTOGRAPHERS CHOICE:

I spotted these leaves on a tree this week while walking around the block.  I loved the colors and the way the branch looks.  Fall is so fleeting but the memories will last when you capture them this way. So this is my choice to share for the prompt.

That's it for this weeks hunt.  I hope you've enjoyed your stay.

Here is the list of prompts for next week if you want to participate.
  • 1. Dress Up
  • 2. Candy
  • 3. Fall Colors
  • 4. Trick or Treat
  • 5. Photographer’s Choice

  • Don't forget to stop in at Ashley's blog and check out the other participants links.  -  Have a great day.

    Scavenger Hunt Sunday - August 31, 2014

Hello & Welcome.  -  I'm back today to join Ashley (Ramblings and Photos) for her wonderful Meme,  SCAVENGER HUNT SUNDAY.

I've been absent for a few months and really wanted to
join in on the fun again so let's get started.

The prompts this week were:  Back to School, Family, Books, Portrait and Detail.

BACK TO SCHOOL:  School doesn't start here until Tuesday so I didn't get any photo's of Coleen heading back to school for this prompt.  Instead....

The fresh painted SCHOOL crossing sign on the street.

FAMILY:  I took this at the concert the other night.

Coleen,  Kelly (my new Son-in-law) and my hubby, Mike.  They all seem to have that (huh? glazed look on their faces.)  That's my FAMILY!

BOOKS:  This one stumped me a little but here is my interpretation...

Most of these Movies were at one time BOOKS.

    PORTRAIT:

I took this PORTRAIT photo of Spooky-boo the other day and added a frame so it would look more like an actual portrait.

    DETAIL:

I love how the Black and White processing really brought out the DETAIL

on this spent flower head.  I was trying out some Black and White photography today and this was one of the photos that I took.

    Introducing...

Yesterday we stopped in to check out a kitten we'd seen advertised by the local Humane Society....and the rest is history.

Please welcome the newest edition to our home:  Spooky-Boo Krause.  Hubby doesn't like the "Boo" part of his name so we are just mainly calling him Spooky.  He's a real sweetie, about 3 1/2 months old.   He can really purr up a storm, loves to lick you and is just so gentle and loving.
Right now  he's a bit shy around all the other cats so he spends most of his time in Greta's room but that will eventually change as they all adjust to each other.

The teal coloring around his one ear was from where them marked his ear.  We have no idea why they do this but it's dye and will eventually was off.

He's going to fit in quite nicely around here.  I'll post most pictures later on but again he's a bit camera shy as well so I haven't gotten many pictures of him yet.
