Annual Lilac Post

Hello and Welcome!
Today's post is (photo heavy) but I hope you enjoy it.

So every year I post photo's of the Lilac Tree that my mom had in her yard.  We heard it was called a (French Lilac) but I can't verify the exact type of tree it is. - The blooms though are much larger than the regular variety of Lilacs you usually see. I just looked this up and I believe hers was the Congo French Lilac.

Starting off in 2025 the tree did not look well at all.  It had very few blooms and I though we might loose it. - I finally consented to start trimming off dead branches and as you will see in this side-by-side comparison the tree is looking much better.

There are still some branches that need trimming but we need to get a taller ladder to get to them.

So the next few photos are from when the tree first started budding out.

This next section will show the blooms as they start opening fuller and fuller. Yes there are lots of them.

And as usual we get a nasty rain storm just about the time the tree is in full bloom.  - I managed to snap a few photos this morning while it was just a light drizzle.

I hope you've enjoyed Lilac 2026 and hopefully the tree will flourish even more so that next year I can share the beauty of this tree again.

Lilac Tree 2024

Hello and Welcome. - Life is busy but I wanted to drop in and post my annual Lilac tree photos.  This was my mom's tree that she bought many years ago when she first moved in next door to us.  She loved that tree.

This year the blooms were heavy and plentiful and it didn't rain and ruin them right away.

They were extremely fragrant and beautiful. - I hope you've enjoyed seeing them.

Lilacs In Abundance

Hello and Welcome. - Today is my annual sharing of my mom's lilac tree photos.

I thought at first they wouldn't be as pretty this year but thankfully I was wrong.

Just look at how huge those blooms are.  They really smell too.  Unfortunately they also make me sneeze a lot!

It was my mom's favorite tree though so I never plan to cut it down as long as I live here.  I'll just enjoy their beauty and sneeze away.

Willy Nilly Friday Five - April 27, 2018

Joining in on WILLY-NILLY FRIDAY FIVE (just a bit late).

It's been a super busy and hectic week.  More on that in a minute.

1.  Remember last week's WNFF Jurrasic Park Car....see post below.  Well they invaded the fair grounds.  Here's one of them trying to eat the Education Building.

2.  Saturday we got a new bed and mattress.  Sunday Speedy the cat got sick.  He ate Easter Grass, Candy wrappers & ribbon.  Had to spend Monday at the Vets doing a $360.00 Barium Study to make sure nothing got stuck in his intestines.  He's fine but the Vet bill over $400 wasn't so much fun.

On the left, Caramel enjoying the new bed.  On the right, Speedy G recovering from his trip to the Vet.

3.  A sure sign of spring around here is when "Woody" the woodpecker returns to peck on the telephone pole next door.

4.  Another sign of spring...When my mom's French Lilac tree blooms and perfumes the air.

5.  Finally on Tuesday Coleen had her knee surgery to repair the tendon in her knee that hold your knee cap in place.  She's doing okay but mastering crutches  has been a challenge for her.

Needless to say between taking care of a sick cat, an 89 year old mother and a kid out of surgery the week hasn't exactly been a barrel of laughs but we are surviving.

Till next time...Have a great day.

SIX WORD FRIDAYS

WILLY-NILLY FRIDAY 5

FELINE ART & FELINE FRIDAY

Let's get started:  Adrienne (My Memory Art) hosts this meme.  This weeks word was:

LIMIT.  Here is what I came up with.

The Original SOOC (Straight Out of Camera Shot) is first.

A plain tulip has been transformed.......

I did not limit my creativity.

1.  My hubby has been working on a job project where an apartment complex is being built.  He told me the other day that the job site was the former sight of an hisotric school that use to be located on the property.  The school is long gone now but they have erected a sign telling about it's history.  I went down today and took pictures of the sign.

It's fun to learn more about the history of our town.

2.  I shared a photo earlier this week of my mom's Lilac Tree.  I couldn't resist sharing another photo today.  Even though the scent of the tree makes me sneeze I still think it's stunning.

3.  Something I spotted on a lawn while walking around the neighborhood.  This one is for the guys (although girls like them too).  My hubby owns one, just got it fixed but hasn't been able to ride yet due to the broken finger on his hand.

4.  I found this on a photo drive this morning.

What a neat little water wheel.  I looked up waterwheels and found this You Tube Video that is super cool.

It's lengthy but fascinating.

5. Another of my mom's flowers.  This one is an Azalea bush.  I was surprised when I uploaded the photo to discover something in the middle of the flower.  Can you spot it?

Yep there's a ladybug there.  Do you like bugs?  How about some of these:

God's creation is fantastic don't you think.

Isn't he a handsome kitty.

Now for some information.  I am moving my CAPTION THIS to Monday.  Very few put a caption to last weeks photo so I'm extending the deadline.  Visit on Monday for more details.

Have a great weekend.
