Six Word Fridays and Willy Nilly Friday Five.

Memes I'm joining today: Six Word Fridays, Willy Nilly Friday Five,

This first set is both part of (SIX WORD FRIDAYS and WILLY NILLY FRIDAY FIVE)

1.  Fall is one of my favorite seasons and it's just around the corner.  In fact there have already been signs of it showing up with cooler temperatures and the changing colors of the leaves. - This weeks theme word for Six Word Fridays was:  Red

Red glowing brightly against Autumn skies.

Catching my breath, Making me sigh.

Summer’s soon over, Autumn beauty begins.

2.  We took a short day trip on Saturday last weekend and visited the Tamastslikt Cultural Center.  Sadly they would not allow photography inside the museum but I did get this picture of some Indians inside the lobby.

Grandpa and Coleen hamming it up for the camera.

3.  As we were heading back home we happened to spot something really unusual on the side of the road so hubby turned around and drove back so I could photograph it.

A "Shoe Tree" - How many pairs do you see?

4.  Hubby likes to read the arrest reports and such in the paper.  He found this listed in the Police Reports:

"Patio chair seat cushions, packages of cigarettes and several pieces of barbecue chicken were stolen from the 500 block of Edith street on Tuesday."

That must have been a hungry thief!  Funnier yet is who reports stolen pieces of chicken!

Our neighbors chickens, Bella (L) and Blondie (R) eating seeds & grain in our driveway.

5.  We spotted this lovely little fountain in Weston, OR and I had to take a picture of it.  This is only the top portion but I like how the shot turned out.

Finally an update on Ghost.  He started limping on his paw again a couple of days ago so yesterday we had an appointment for him to see the Vet about his paw.  We made sure to tell them that we were "claiming ownership of Ghost" and that the neighbor had been informed of that.

They couldn't find anything wrong with his paw other then he had been in a cat fight and he might have a bit of arthritis in his joints. - We had him updated on all his shots, he got medication for tape worms and he's now been neutered!  He's in our basement for a few days while he heals and not happy about it but it's whats best for him.  He's doing great though and while it cost us quite a bit for all that work we feel we did the right thing by him.
This shot was taken of Ghost about a week ago playing with a toy that I have where you shoot that orange disk into the air.

That's it for this week. - Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

SIX WORD FRIDAYS

WILLY-NILLY FRIDAY 5

FELINE ART & FELINE FRIDAY

Let's get started:  Adrienne (My Memory Art) hosts this meme.  This weeks word was:

LIMIT.  Here is what I came up with.

The Original SOOC (Straight Out of Camera Shot) is first.

A plain tulip has been transformed.......

I did not limit my creativity.

Tanya from (Around Roankoke) hosts: Willy-Nilly Friday Five.

1.  My hubby has been working on a job project where an apartment complex is being built.  He told me the other day that the job site was the former sight of an hisotric school that use to be located on the property.  The school is long gone now but they have erected a sign telling about it's history.  I went down today and took pictures of the sign.

It's fun to learn more about the history of our town.

2.  I shared a photo earlier this week of my mom's Lilac Tree.  I couldn't resist sharing another photo today.  Even though the scent of the tree makes me sneeze I still think it's stunning.

3.  Something I spotted on a lawn while walking around the neighborhood.  This one is for the guys (although girls like them too).  My hubby owns one, just got it fixed but hasn't been able to ride yet due to the broken finger on his hand.

4.  I found this on a photo drive this morning.

What a neat little water wheel.  I looked up waterwheels and found this You Tube Video that is super cool.

It's lengthy but fascinating.

5. Another of my mom's flowers.  This one is an Azalea bush.  I was surprised when I uploaded the photo to discover something in the middle of the flower.  Can you spot it?

Yep there's a ladybug there.  Do you like bugs?  How about some of these:

God's creation is fantastic don't you think.

Eric (the cat) as Pop Art.

The Orignal:

Isn't he a handsome kitty.

Now for some information.  I am moving my CAPTION THIS to Monday.  Very few put a caption to last weeks photo so I'm extending the deadline.  Visit on Monday for more details.

Have a great weekend.

Willy-Nilly Friday Five, Cats & Captions, Six Words & some Fill-In Fun.

Joining several memes here today. (Feline Friday, Follow Friday For Fill In Fun, Six Word Friday, Willy Nilly Friday FivePlease read the whole post to find the meme your are looking for.

Happy Friday! - It made me feel happy to know that Tanya (Around Roanoke) was back this week for Willy-Nilly Friday Five.

So let's get started....

1.  While out and about on one of our walks Coleen & I spotted this man with his dog delivering the newspaper.  - I asked him if I could take their photo and he said yes.  I wish I could recall what his name & his dog's name are but the memory isn't what it use to be.  I just thought it was fun that he took his dog along to deliver the paper.

2. My mom & I went for a short walk around the block earlier this week.  On the way I spotted some Shaggy Mane Mushrooms in a neighbor's flower bed.  Thankfully she only lives 2 houses from us so I was able to go back and get the camera to snap a picture.  These are pretty tasty mushrooms.

3. We woke up to this on Tuesday.  Thank goodness it was only on the foothills and higher elevations of the mountains.  I drove out in the afternoon to get this shot.  I love how it shows the green fields and the snow covered mountains together.  Plus apparently someone is building a new home there in the valley.

4.  My hubby has the weirdest sense of humor.  I discovered something on the kitchen counter the other morning.  Due to bad lighting I took it outside to get a better photograph.  So what did I find?.....

A Yam that had sprouted on the counter.  He got artistic with it.  Speaking of artistic....Check out this artist and what he does with a typewriter.

Now that is amazing!

5.  It's time for my weekly feature I'm calling Caption This.

Before I show this weeks photo here is last weeks photo with the winning caption contributed by Theresa (aka TexWiseGirl) from The Run-a-round Ranch Report.

Thanks Theresa for playing along.

Here is this weeks photo:  Please play along and have fun with this.  You have until midnight PST on Thursday the 23rd to leave a caption for this photo.

So for Feline Friday and Six Word Friday (This weeks word was, Collect) I give you this photo:

                                    Collect Your Thoughts.....Take a Nap!

Shot this little fur ball at the Humane Society taking a nap last week.

Also joining Hilary (Feeling Beachie) For some Fill-In Fun.
The statements:
  1. If I _______________I’d change ____________
  2. I’d rather __________ some where than ___________
  3. Seeing_____ makes me_______.
  4. Could you still______ after______
My Answers:

1.  If I could turn back time I'd change probably nothing because God has had a purpose for everything that has happened in my life.
So that's it for this week. I hope you've enjoyed stopping by.

2.  I'd rather read a good book somewhere than a boring book anywhere.

3.  Seeing flowers in spring makes me happy and tired as I have to start yard work to keep them looking nice.

4.  Could you still eat something after it made you sick once?  My hubby won't eat fudge after eating a lot of it as a kid and getting sick on it.

That's it for today. I hope you've enjoyed all the fun and will visit each of the memes to check out the other participants.

It's Friday and time for some fun!

Welcome.  There is a lot going on in this post today.  I hope you enjoy it and have fun.

WILLY NILLY FRIDAY FIVE

1. It was nice out this week so Coleen and I took a walk to the park.  We spotted these on one of the trees....

I feel the arrival of spring is a little closer now.

2.  Since it was nice out this week I decided to do a little yard work.  I cleared a bunch of leaves from my front flower bed and my mom's.  We don't have trees but we get all the leaves from a neighbor down the street who "never" rakes their leaves in the fall.  Anyway my muscles were so sore yesterday from bending over and squatting down picking up the leaves. It even hurt to sit in a chair.

Flowers from someone's yard while we were on our walk.  Looks like they need to do some yard work too.

3.  Well I've decided not to send in my camera for repairs after all.  Last week the USB port broke on it and I contacted a company about repairing it.  I can't afford the cost of the repairs and I realized I could just take the memory card out and put it in another camera and download my photos that way.  Works for me!

4.  Our cat Snickers likes to drink water from a dripping faucet, usually the sink but sometimes the bathtub.  I turned the spout of the bathtub on yesterday and after she started drinking I called her name and snapped this drippy shot of her.  She loves drinking this way and doesn't seem to mind being soppy wet afterwards.

This shot is also joining in on FELINE FRIDAY hosted by Steve from the Burnt Food Dude.

5.  I bought a new coffee mug this week.  I was looking for a mug to send to someone for a Mug Exchange and found one that I just couldn't resist gettting for myself.

Isn't that owl cute!  I love the colors, the owl and well just how whimsical this mug is.

One more photo as I've been the last few weeks sharing a "creepy" photo from something I've spotted while out and about.

I think a Chinese Dragon stalking a Quail is a bit creepy, what do you think?

So now for more fun with memes.  Let's join Adrienne from My Memory Art for SIX WORD FRIDAYS  This week the word was,  Wing.

More cat fun can be found on FELINE ART over at Kittypartay.

Coleen enjoying a Garfield Cookie - Cartoonized on BeFunky.

Finally I am participating in Hillary's Meme: FOLLOW FRIDAY FOUR FILL-IN FUN.

The statements:
  1. ___is the ____
  2. Do you ___ on the weekends?
  3. ___ is my ____ comfort food
  4. ______ always makes me happy.
My Answers:

1.  Growing older is the "pits" at times.
2.  Do you stay in your pajamas on weekends?  I don't often do it but on occasion I have been known to spend all day Saturday in my robe.
3. Cheesecake (or any dessert) is my guilty comfort food.  I feel guilty only because I know I shouldn't be indulging but it tastes so good I don't care.
4. Petting my cats always makes me happy.
