Next let's visit Tanya (Around Roanoke) for Willy-Nilly Friday Five.

1.  I have been spotting unusual things when I set out on little photo hunts around the town.  I discovered these one day last week.

                                                        Aren't they fun!

2. Anyone watch the new season of DWTS? -  Is it just me or is this bunch just not all that exciting to watch.  Normally I recognize a lot of the people they get as the "Stars" but this time around I had no clue to about half of them.  I mean an "Internet Vlogger/Blogger" is a Star?

3.  Browsing around for something different to write about I discovered some funny and interesting facts.  Here are a couple of them I liked:

In a study of 200,000 ostriches over a period of 80 years, no one reported a single case where an ostrich buried its head in the sand.

 In every episode of Seinfeld there is a Superman somewhere. Now I'm going to have to watch old reruns and look for that Superman.

23% of all photocopier faults worldwide are caused by people sitting on them and photocopying their butts.  Why would anyone want to do that!

4.  Another of my attempts at Black and White Photography.  This one is different.  It's a shadow of a plant on the sidewalk.  What do you think about the composition etc...feedback is appreciated.

5.  Of course we can't have Friday go by without a cat photo so once again here is some "Cat Art" shared with Feline Art.

1.  During my growing up years,  I wanted to be an Actress.

2.  While I like the ocean, I wouldn't want to live there (bad for Asthma)

3.   Reading while riding in a car,  is hard for me now.  I get car sick.  I didn't as a child though so I wonder why I do now.

4.  Why would anyone read my blog? - Okay I couldn't think of anything for this one and that's the first thing that popped into my head.

Friday Fun - September 19, 2014

Hooray for Friday!

Joining in on WILLY-NILLY FRIDAY FIVE



1.  My camera is home!!! - Of course I had to test out a sky shot to see if they had cleared up the "spots" I was getting whenever I took photo's of the sky.

No spots but this was a rather neat looking night sky shot.  I like the wispy look of the clouds and the dark smoky cloud.

2.  Signs of Autumn are showing up now.  You see those trees in the middle of the above photo.  Here is a view of them during the day.

I love fall and all the colors of the trees as they change seasons.  I can't wait to get out and capture more of their beauty.

3.  You know I just can't pass up a chance to share a "cat" photo with you.
This morning (Ghost) was out and about and decided to climb my mom's lilac tree.  I snapped this quick shot of him before he jumped back down.

4.  It's fun to find something unexpected to take photos of like this lovely Morning Glory that I happened upon this morning while taking a little photo walk after dropping Coleen off at school.

Of course when I saw it I was immediately reminded of Debbie (It's All About Purple)  since we all know what her favorite color is.

5. A friend sent me a link this week with BW pictures that have been colorized.  I found it really fascinating to see how different history looks in color.  You can check it out HERE:  One of my favorites was the one of Joan Crawford - It's #18 in the list.

My answers: 1. I am tired already today.  Hubby wasn't feeling well (bad cold) so he sort of kept me up coughing and such during the night.

2.  I don't like to watch scary movies alone.  I watched Fatal Attraction by myself once and vowed never again to watch a suspense or scary movie alone again. 

3.  Would you like to be younger again if you could?  I don't know as if I want to be younger again but perhaps older with less signs of aging.  Like "arthritis".

4.  Cooking with strange ingredients is something to be avoided.  I like to try new stuff but sometimes it doesn't always work out.  Once I tried Chorizo in a recipe and I thought it was horrible (really greasy) and another time I tried Okra and it looked so slimy that I couldn't even taste it and threw the stuff out.

So that's it for this week.  It always takes me forever to get my Friday posts ready.  I actually wanted to write a poem for 6 Word Friday today.  I hope you liked what I came up with.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday - March 3, 2013

Welcome!  It's time to join in on the fun of Scavenger Hunt Sunday.  You know the drill if you've been by for the hunt at some point.  If not the idea is that we are give 5 prompts that we take pictures of and then post them on Sunday on Ashley's blog, Ramblings and Photos.

This weeks prompts were colors:  Red, Orange, Yellow, Green & Blue.

RED:

Coleen asked me to hold on to her apple while she was swinging and I set it down on the bench.  I thought the RED of the apple looked great on the RED bench that I was sitting on.  Originally I was going to use a picture of the playground equipment that was red and white but I think I'll save that for another time.

                                                                                                                                    
ORANGE: 

Not much ORANGE left on these old Chinese lantern plants but there's just enough to qualify them for the prompt.

YELLOW:

My YELLOW daffodils are starting to bloom!  Yeah, spring is on the way!!!

GREEN:  Couldn't make up my mind on this prompts so you get 2 photos.

The neighbors cat, Fluffy (now known as Fluffy the Floozy, it's a long story) has lovely GREEN eyes.

Coleen in her GREEN shirt, GREEN jacket and a lot of GREEN leaves and moss.

BLUE:  This one is an Archived photo and not because I couldn't find anything blue to take a picture of.  I took this last summer and just hadn't had a chance to post and it's just to pretty not to share.

I spotted these gorgeous BLUE Morning Glory flowers one day on the way home from the library.  I had to stop and take a picture of them.  There was an entire cascade of these lovely blue flowers but I love this close-up shot of them.
