Willy Nilly Friday Five - July 9, 2021

Welcome!  Well summer is moving along quickly.  We broke some records in our area for heat recently with a temp of 116.  So far I'm surviving the heat mainly because I stay inside where it's cool.

Anyway time to join Tom (The Backroads Traveller) for:

1.  Summer Clouds

2. Purple Bells. - One of the new perennials I bought this year.

3. Munch mouth.  The heat hasn't stopped them from coming to the feeders everyday.

4.  Rock Camp - Coleen participated in the (Rock Camp) last month.  They were unable to hold it last year.  The first year she participated she played drums.  This year she played a Bass Guitar and sang.

5.  Baby Fix

 6. Cat Nap - Caramel & Bandit usually don't sleep together so this was a rare sight.

 7.  My heart bleeds for you (or me).  - Caramel got scared when I tried to pick her up and she cut my hand.  I used a paper towel to wipe the blood and when I looked at the towel I saw this:

That's it for this edition. - Hope you are enjoying your summer. - I ended up getting (Shingles) last week. - I'm doing very well though and healing quickly.  No photo of that though as it's not a pretty sight.

Willy Nilly Friday Five - Two Weeks worth

Thank you to everyone who wished me well on my Cataract surgery this week. - I am happy to report it was a HUGE success.

Now on to WILLY NILLY FRIDAY FIVE  hosted by Tom The Backroads Traveller.  - I'm doing last week & this week in this post.

1. Spotted this bush out on a walk. - You could almost call it a, Burning Bush.

2. Saw some deer on a drive recently.  The one in the front had a hurt leg.  You can see she's holding it up off the ground.

3. Squirrel leftovers? - Maybe someone picked it and was doing the loves me, loves me not routine.  Who knows but it caught my attention.

4. Brightly colored oak leaves.  Both are from the same tree.

5. These ducks were out and about for a little swim in a creek near the oak tree.

6.  A little train graffiti

7.  Some cheery daisies on a drizzly day.

 8.  Pumpkins for the kids

9.  Mushroom - They seem to be popping up all over the place.
10.  My mom loved to put up little decorative flags so after she passed away & my daughter moved into the house she is carrying on the tradition and bought this little flag to display.

That's it for me this week. - Leaving you with a song that is fitting for me this week.

Willy Nilly Friday Five - July 31, 2020

Hello everyone.  Thank you so much for all the nice comments about my being back blogging again.  Still not up to speed yet but doing better at posting a little more often.

Time for WILLY NILLY FRIDAY FIVE hosted by Tom the Backroads Traveller. - Apparently not many have been participating lately so let's hope you all get in and join the fun.

Today it's Birds, Blooms & a Butterfly for me.
 1. Earlier this spring I spotted a few duck sitting on top of the neighbors fence across the street.  She sat there for quite awhile.  I snapped a bunch of shots of her.

Shortly after this shot some people were walking past and a little girl stopped to look at the duck.
She stayed right there and then after they past by she finally flew off.
 2.  Missed sharing these from earlier in spring when the dogwoods were in bloom here.  These were taken the night after my mom passed away.  I went for a walk around the block and the sunset was so pretty so I snapped a couple of shots of the white dogwoods with the sunset in the background.

3.  Also from earlier in the spring a lovely Norther Flicker Woodpecker visited our driveway to eat ants.

4. This rose bush use to be in my flower bed but it had problems and wasn't blooming very well so I was going to dig it up and throw it away.  A lady renting the house next door at the time wanted to plant it on her side of the fence.  Wouldn't you know it the darn thing took off and blooms like crazy now.  Thank goodness I still get to enjoy it.

5.  Remember last weeks Pelican shot (Yakety Yak) - Well here are some more of a group of 2 Pelicans that I spotted another day in June. - Be sure to click on them to enlarge.

Lastly a bloom and a butterfly (for you mom).

For your musical selection I leave you with this Eagles song which I think should be played over loud speakers every day, every where.

Have a great weekend.
