Good Fences #125 - Twin Sisters Fences

Welcome! - It's time to join Theresa (The Run-a-round Ranch Report) for:
GOOD FENCES.

In yesterday's post  I showed you photos of the Twin Sister's Rock formation and promised to share some fence shots today so without further ado here they are:

The grass was very "dry" in the area as you can see from this shot.

The barbed wire fencing in this shot beminds me of "patchwork" quilt with the way it's bent into different shapes.  Notice the wild Sunflowers blooming in the background.

Finally a close up of the fence post.

This fence was very "rustic" but I liked it.  I hope you do as well.

Please if you are a "praying" person say one for me today as I take our old cat, Snickers to the Vet this morning.  She's been having some issues the last few days and we aren't sure exactly what the outcome will be.  At 16 1/2 we know her time is limited but I'm just not ready yet to say good-bye to her.

Good Fences #79 - Sunflower Delight

Welcome! - It's time for GOOD FENCES hosted by Theresa (The Run-a-round Ranch Report).

While out on a walk one morning I spotted these lovely sunflowers and the weathered fence they were growing near & through.  I just had to get pictures for Good Fences to share.  I hope you enjoy them.

I'm not sure what they had growing by the shed that required those strings you see but who cares when you have pretty sunflowers to look at.

I love that one growing through the fence. - I thought I'd show a crop of it from the other direction.

Finally a view looking up at the sunflowers over the fence.

Don't forget to check out the other great fences by visiting Theresa's blog.

Have a "sunny sunflower" day.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday - September 14, 2014

Hello.  I hope you all had a great week.  It was a nice one here.  Enjoying some late summer weather with temps expected to be back in the 90's for a few days.

So this week I'm joining in with Ashley (Ramblings and Photos) for SCAVENGER HUNT SUNDAY .  The prompts were:  Stripes, Packed, Travel, Too Cute and Favorite.

Since my camera was off for repairs I had to do the hunt through my Archieved Photos this week.

STRIPES:

How about "Stars and Stripes" - I took this shot when we attended the Charlie Daniel's concert.  Those weird black spots you see are crows flying past.

PACKED:

This was one of the old cars in the Car Show we attended last weekend.  I loved all the bags and such packed on top the van.

TRAVEL:

We don't often get to travel during the summer but on occasion we take a short drive (that counts as travel doesn't it) someplace close by.  Early in May of this year Coleen, my mom & I drove up to Tollgate one day.  We were surprised to find that the lake was still iced over.  What was even weirder was that it was only 50 degrees up there but down in the valley which is only about 1/2 hours drive away it was in the 70's.

TOO CUTE:

Watching our newest cat, Spooky-boo playing with a spinning top of Coleen's was just too cute.

FAVORITE:

I recently took pictures of sunflowers at Coleen's school (see my Good Fences entry this past week) and this was my favorite photo of the sunflowers.

So that's it for this hunt. -  I hope you enjoyed your stay and will check out the other participants as well.

Good News:  My camera has been repaired and is on it's way back home!!!

Good Fences - Sept. 11, 2014

Welcome.  Won't you join me as we link up with Theresa from (The Run-a-Round Ranch Report) for
GOOD FENCES

I am so glad that I went out last week and got some fence shots because with my camera off for repairs I wouldn't have been able to particpate.

The school Coleen attends has a little Vegetable/Flower Garden plot in front of the school.  The kids plant different things in the plot each year and use the produce for various school projects.

Surrounding the garden plot is a wooden picket fence and growing near the fence were these lovely sunflowers.  I hope you enjoy them.

Be sure to visit Theresa's blog and check out the other great fences.

Let us pause for a moment today to remember those who gave their lives on 9-11-2001 and for those still fighting today for our Freedom.  God Bless America.

Sunflower Delight - FAF, PAF, OYGIF

It's Friday and time for some of my favorite Memes:  Flower Art Friday, Photo Art Friday and Orange You Glad It's Friday.

FLOWER ART FRIDAY  This is posted on LeAnne's Blog usually midday on Thursdays.

I added a layer of Bonnie's (Pixed Dust Photo Art) Abstract Scratches texture, Overlay 70% Opacity and eared it off the bee only.  Then the Grunge Frame was added on Be Funky.

PHOTO ART FRIDAY  This is posted on Bonnie's blog, (Pixel Dust Photo Art) later afternoon on Thursdays.
This week was a bit of a "challenge" as Bonnie gave us the optional theme:
You can use the prompt to compose a seven word sentence that describes your life or experience or process as an artist (be it a photographer, painter, mixed media artist, digital artists, whatever ...) and marry your sentence to a piece of photo art that somehow illustrates your sentence.

I did a lot of thinking about that and decided upon my 7 Word Sentence before I found a photograph that I wanted to use it on.  I think this describes me pretty well.

For me my Photography, Photo Art, Stamping/Crafting etc...are all ways for me to express my feelings and the joy that I get out of life in general.  I'm not a real flashy sort of person and my life is pretty simple but I plan to enjoy it to the fullest that I can.

ORANGE YOU GLAD IT'S FRIDAY      This is posted on Sarah's blog:  (Hood Photo) on Friday mornings.

Don't forget to stop by the different blogs and check out all the great entries from the other participants.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Two For The Price of One (Flower Art and Photo Art Friday)

Happy Friday everyone! - Thanks for stopping by.  Today I'm sharing not one but two photo's with you.

Friday is home to several Memes which I enjoy participating in.  Sometimes that means creating several different posts which all go up on Friday or early Thursday.  This week I decided to do two of them in one post.

First up:  Flower Art Friday: Click to Enlarge Photos.

photosbyleanne

I absolutely love how this turned out.  I started with the photo below (SOOC)

The photo was cropped and then I applied Bonnie Zieman's (Pixel Dust Photo Art) texture:  Vintage Craquelure, Hardlight at 80%.  Then I uploaded the photo to BeFunky and used there Watercolor Effect.  Next I reuploaded the photo on PicMonkey and used the Boost Feature (10%) just to up the color a little.  I then added the Quote there added some dark edges and another Simple Frame.

I really love finding quotes for photos.  This one fits the theme for Photo Art Friday but I decided to do another photo for that.  You'll see that below.

Don't forget to stop by LeAnne's Blog for Flower Art Friday  and then head on over to Bonnie's blog for some wonderful photo art.  The theme there this week is, Movement.

Photo Art Friday:  Hi,  Welcome again.  It's time for some wonderful Photo Art which you'll find at Bonnie's blog,  Pixel Dust Photo Art.

Here is my submission for Photo Art Friday:

For this edit  I uploaded the original photo on Pic Monkey and used Boost at 10% to give the original a little extra oomph.  Then I used Bonnie's texture:  Scratches , Hardlight at 70%.    Then I added the quote and a simple frame.

Below is the original photo (SOOC) so you can see how I edited it.

Thanks for dropping by and I hope you've enjoy both pieces of Art this week.
