Photo Art Friday - June 1, 2012

Please note that my Flower Art Friday post is one post below or you can click on the link.

Hi, It's Friday and time for Photo Art Friday on Bonnie's blog, Pixel Dust Photo Art.  This weeks theme/s:  Any piece of Photo Art or a piece using Bokeh.  Bonnie even provided some Bokeh Backgrounds to use if we chose to do so.

Since the sun hasn't been out much this week I didn't get any shots with Bokeh in them so I decided to use one of her Free Bokeh textures for my piece.

I chose, Golden Bokeh Overlay for my piece.

Here is what I created:

I started with this picture of some Trillium flower in my flower garden, Thanks to Janet of Snapendipity I now know that my flower is actually a member of the Spiderwort family.  Although I don't care much for spiders but the flower plant is certainly pretty.

After uploading it on PicMonkey I did some color adjustments there, soften the photo a little and then added the texture on Hardlight at around 50% (I can't remember the exact percentage I used).  Then I earased the texture off the flowers.  After that I added another texture layer using Bonnie's texture: Sweet Thoughts.
I thought it added just a little bit more to the piece and I was happy with the end result.  Be sure to hop on over to Bonnie's blog and check out the other entries.  It's always amazing to see what everyone has created and also very inspiring.

Have a Great Weekend!

  6. I love what you have done with this photo Ida!
As a relatively new convert to gardening, I have been trying to find out the names of flowers that I like in my garden so that I can plant more. That plant, I believe, is known as Spiderwort. Some would say it is a weed but I think it is an awesome perennial that flowers for the better part of the summer once established!
