Happy Friday! - Did you all have a Happy 1st Day of Spring!
So now it's time to join in the fun of RANDOM 5 FRIDAY hosted by Nancy from A Rural Journal.
Please click to enlarge photos.
2. For those who watched the opening season of Dancing With The Stars, (DWTS) what did you think? Did you like the new co-host, did you like the new band. who were your favorite dancers? My answers, I liked Erin Andrews, the new co-host, I did NOT like the new band or the music (to modern and noisy sounding for my taste) My favorite dancing team, Max and Meryl the Ice Dancer from the Olympics. - I also think Billy Dee Williams is out of there 1st.
(From a Garden up the street)
3. I had a great birthday and thank you to everyone who sent me birthday wishes. Got to go out for dinner; I chose to eat at Applebee's and had the Trio sampler with Steak Quessadias towers and 2 orders of Won-Ton Chicken Tacos, Yum!
4. These two are getting along a lot better now. Oh they are still tussling with each other every morning but I'm not worried now that Cuddles will hurt Spooky. Here he's holding him down giving him a bath. The poor thing was sopping wet after Cuddles got through washing his head.
(Coleen and Pixie on our afternoon walk)
5. I seriously need to lose some weight. Problem is I take Thyroid Medication and it is extremely hard to lose weight while taking thyroid meds, no matter what your thyroid doctor says. If you research it you will find many people have the same problem but their doctors will tell them it's not the medication. - Anyway I'm going to try again to start walking more and cutting back on the sweets. We'll see what happens.
Quote of the Week:
I have not watched DWTS in ages, but Meryl Davis is on...might have to watch now...but why they saddled her with Max is beyond me.
ReplyDeleteThat picture of Cuddles and Spooky-boo is too cute. How did you acquire Spooky-boo? How is Ghost?
Oh, have you blossoming trees already! With us it will take ...
ReplyDeleteThe cats are so adorable and such beautiful photos - enjoyed me in the morning.
Subsequently congratulations, all the best for a good new year :-)
Lovely shots! :)

...my heart medications do the very same thing...add weight. And on the caution label it says so, so the drs. can't deny it.
ReplyDeleteLove the photo of the kitties, and Colleen [hope I spelled her name right] by the tree on your walk.
Okay those kitties are just ADORABLE! I love all the spring photos. I too am on thyroid meds but I lost with The 100 by Jorge Cruise, counts sugar calories. Good luck. Carla
ReplyDeleteYou can do it. Just start walking and find alternatives to the sweets. It is an ongoing battle, but so worth it to feel better and have more energy.
ReplyDeleteOh Happy belated Birthday sounds like you had fun.
ReplyDeleteCuddles and Spooky are so adorable.
Coleen and Pixie are also very adorable.
Oh I think after the winter everyone needs to get out and walk more.It will be good for you enjoy that. Hugs B
Oh the cats are so sweet!
ReplyDeleteIda,
ReplyDeleteHappy Spring to you! Thanks for sharing your beautiful blooms. It will be a while before we see anything like that in our area. Yesterday, I checked the winter wheat and it is trying to pop out of the ground; I can see a few sprigs of green.
Your new header is pretty.
Lovely photos again! Your flowers really brightened my day. We have 19 degrees and light snow this morning.
ReplyDeleteOh ida! So sorry I missed wishing you a happy birthday, but here is a late HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Wonderful seeing the trees blossoming, and will have to get out this weekend and see if there are some around my house. Glad your kitties are doing well. That weight loss thing is not easy. i really have like medifast, and it definitely works with or without thyroid meds. That plus the increase in exercise. Lotsa luck on this!!! Not easy to do
ReplyDeleteOh lovely signs of spring!
ReplyDeleteLots of great photos my friend. I LOVE the kitty photo. So cute!! Happy Belated Birthday. Sounds like you had a happy one.
ReplyDeleteHugs~
They say when a cat licks/washing you (or in this case, Spooky) it is a sign of love. I hear you on the thyroid and weight loss --- doctors only look at a fraction of the issues associated with thyroids. I sometimes wonder if this disease were more prevalent in men if it were researched and addressed more seriously.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous blossom photos.
I am so glad you had a nice birthday. :)
ReplyDeleteWow! You already have spring in bloom. I still hope we will have some nice weather soon too. It is warm today, but back to cold tomorrow.
Nice pictures, Ida! :)
Such lovely spring flowers!
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated Birthday wishes, Ida. And it sure looks like Spring has arrived in your corner of the world. Happy Spring and Happy Birthday!!
ReplyDeleteYES! You've found some spring, too! So beautiful.
ReplyDeletebeautiful flowers on the tree, wish I see them where I am but thanks for sharing that shot.
ReplyDeletehave a great day.
ooohhh I love that quote and all the beautiful hints that spring has arrived!!
ReplyDeleteI don't watch dancing with the stars. Right now, I am racing around the world with Phil, The Amazing Race, I LOVE that show!!
wonderful spring photos and happy belated birthday! applebees was a good choice! have a great weekend :)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful, Ida! The flowering trees are amazing....and the photos of your loved ones--cats, dogs, children---are precious! I, too, could stand to lose even 5 lbs==all around my middle! I've taken thyroid for 33 years, and have never been able to lose weight intentionally. Sugar is a big no-no; I just bought a book that's supposed to help kick the sugar addiction.
ReplyDeletegorgeous blooms - so spring. i love spring & i am so ready for all springy moments. i think we are all there ... i think they are calling for snow this week though. but i am hoping it will fly on by. fingers crossed. ( :
ReplyDeleteLovely shots. Love your blossom shot. They are such a pretty sight no matter how many times you see them.
ReplyDeleteIda you are heralding the start of spring and here is autumn. Not a lot of autumn colour where I live on the east coast - it's not cold enough; I'll have to go look for it afar. Do stick with your plans to walk more - even if you don't pare off some weight, it will do your soul good. Use it for thinking time, and observing time - you might see some photo opportunities along the way too.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos.
ReplyDeleteHey, don't beat yourself up about the losing weight thing .... if you start stressing over it then you won't lose it ... at least that's my opinion.
Go with the flow.
Have a wonderful weekend.

I am happy for you that your Spring has Sprung ... I am still waiting, though I am seeing telltale signs. And a Happy Birthday to you ... You are a Pices like me? :) I think you have a good formula for weight loss or to just improve your health ... less sugar and more walking. Works every time. Enjoy your Spring ... it is a uplifting time.
ReplyDeleteAndrea @ From The Sol
Ida, I love this series of photos! We here in Montreal are due to get roughly 15 centimeters of snow tomorrow, and it is supposed to get really cold on Sunday. Thank you so much for sharing this beauty which I might not see in my area for a while.
ReplyDeleteYour cats look like they will be best buds! So sweet :)
ReplyDeleteYour kitties are adorable! I love those daffodils. I especially like the white ones with the yellow middle. It really is looking like spring where you live! Have a wonderful weekend, Ida.
ReplyDeleteOh, my gosh, your blog is looking like springtime! Such beautiful photos bursting into bloom! The kitty pic is sooooo sweet. Looks like Cuddles has found a friend.
ReplyDeleteAmazed at the blooms you are seeing where you are Ida -- gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteAnd a belated happy birthday. xo
It's so the medication. I'm on Thyroid too...it's a pain, especially when you go in to get your blood checked knowing you feel off, but your TSH numbers are in the "norm"...totally hate it. Love your spring blooms, hopefully we will get to see some here soon!.
ReplyDeleteoh those two kitties made me smile :)
ReplyDeleteGreat picture of Colleen. I need to lose weight, too, and it's more than cosmetic. But I am on thyroid meds and it's gotten very tough. I am walking a lot, but know I need to make it more every day and cut out sweets. My goal is five pounds by the end of April and my college mini-reunion. There will be lots of pictures and I would like to look a little thinner.
ReplyDeleteI take thyroid medication, too, and it wasn't until a new doctor changed my medication (gave me more daily thyroid replacement) that I felt like a human and had the energy to walk for any length of time. I am actually losing a bit of weight, although it's quite slow going. Talk to your doctor and try adjusting your meds up and down to see if it makes any difference.
ReplyDeleteOh, those blossoms!!! I'm still waiting for the snow to melt here - it will be nice to see the ground, never mind the flowers!
