My answers:

1.  I would like to ask people in general why they feel the need to post such negative stuff on Social Media all the time.  I don't know about you but I'm so tired of reading their complaints that I could scream. 

 

2. My favorite fast food restaurant is McDonalds, Mainly because I like their Salads & Fries.

 

3. If I could go to any concert of someone still performing, it would be Neil Diamond.

 

4.  My Winter pastime is usually Reading, because I don't have to go outside to do it.

WILLY-NILLY FRIDAY FIVE

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

1.  Our cats got a new Christmas Present with this awesome cat tree.  Here you can see 3 of them checking it all out.  We've moved it into the living room now that the Christmas tree is down.  Here it was in the corner of the dining room.

 

2.  Spotted the snow on the telphone line in December and thought it looked pretty cool.  - I went outside later and the same snow plopped on the ground right before I walked under the wire.  Whew...it missed me.

 

 

 

3.  Just a squirrel on the fence enjoying the peanuts I leave out for them.

 

 



 

4.  Another "forgotten" photo that I meant to share but never did.

Photo Art Friday - Abstract Flowers

Welcome and Happy Friday!

PHOTO ART FRIDAY  is hosted by Bonnie (Pixel Dust Photo Art).  This month's "optional" theme was Abstract Flowers.

Here is my submission:

I did a couple of other's as well which I'll share but since we are voting on people's favorites.  This is the one that you'll be voting on.

   The Original photo is below:

For my abstract version I used Bonnie's texture:  (Splash of Gold) twice, moving it over the 2nd time I added it.  I also used some special effects from Pic Monkey and a Frame from Pixlr-o-matic.


Here are my others:

Added Bonnie's texture (Fanciful) in Screen mode to the original photo, erasing most of it off the flowers.  Then used the Posterize feature on Pic Monkey and also the Orton effect to get this final version.

For this version all I did was use the Posterize feature on Pic Monkey.

Photo Art Friday - March 8, 2013

Hello & welcome!  It's time to join me over at Bonnie's blog, Pixel Dust Photo Art

for this weeks edition of Photo Art Friday    The theme this week was Abstract using Bonnie's textures.  She also stated that we could add one of our own images if we wanted to.  I decided that I was going to try and figure out something using Gimp just using her textures first before I added a photo.

I started with a mix of 4 of her textures:

Dreams of Spring was my starting point.

Now I'm going to say that from here on out I have no record of the steps that I took to get to my final result.  I know what textures I used and I can tell you that I fiddled with Inverting the color on some of them, changing the hue/saturation on some and most were layered using Hardlight at various percentages.  I also fiddled with the Artistic Filters but I didn't write down what I did as I went along.  I also added a frame from Pixlr to this piece.
The other textures I used on this 1st piece were:

and Berry Merry Xmas.

The end result of these four textures and my fiddling....

For my 2nd piece I chose 3 textures:  Blank Page, Dropped Petal, Heart Ache by the Number.

Again I did not write down my steps.  I rotated the Dropped Petal texture.  Used the Blank Page texture twice, rotating once.  Colors were inverted etc...and finally I added an inverted picture of the same grapes that I used last week.  I rescaled the image to fit the textures.

Here is the end result.  This one is my favorite of the two.  Which is yours?

Photo Art Friday - February 8, 2013

It's Friday and time to join me on a photo art journey over at Pixel Dust Photo Art.
This weeks PAF theme is: Abstract.  Bonnie provided a texture and a "recipe" of sorts for putting our pieces together.  Now I must tell you I was totally baffled by this theme and scared to post anything because I don't understand how to edit photo's in programs very well.  I'm more of a (hands-on) learner and have no one here that can show me how to do photo editing so I kind of experiment on my own the best I can.  With that said here is what I ended up with.

For my piece I used the texture Bonnie provided,

Dropped Petals along with

Blue Me Away

Now here is where the fun part comes in.  I started out using the Gimp program.  I know a little tiny bit about using this program.  I started with the Dropped Petals Texture and added the photo of the bars using Difference @70% - Then I saved the photo and used Auto Correct in my Windows program which brightened it up a little.  Next up went to PicMonkey and added the Blue Me Away texture, Hardlight at 25%.  Then I added the photo of the Violets and erased out Coleen's hand.

I ended up with this:

Since I like to add quotes I found one and added it to the piece coming up with version #2

Finally I took this photo and went to Pixlr and used the Polar Coordinates filter, Polar to Rect. and came up with Version #3 - I think this is pretty abstract looking and I like how it turned out.

This was a tough assignment but I think it turned out okay.
