Summer Flowers

Just sharing a few late spring/early summer flowers before the season is over and I forget to share them.

My pots of Petunias that sit on either side of our front door.  They've done real well this year.

I had a yellow one as well but sadly the winter killed off most of the plant and what little that did come up died due to the heat.

Both these pots were really pretty earlier on in the season but the heat has not been kind this summer so they are looking a bit under the weather now.

The bees really like this plant.

This is a really odd lily I bought a few years ago.  I'm still not sure if I like it or not.

The hydrangea has been beautiful this year.  Last year it did not have a single bloom.

I took this view looking down the driveway while the lilies there were still in bloom along with my Clematis, pot of petunias, hydrangea.

Hope you've enjoy a little from my summer garden.

Willy Nilly Friday Five - February 1, 2019

Welcome!

Finally finding some time to post on the blog again.

Before I get started I want to thank each and everyone who sent such wonderful messages on the loss of our cat, Ghost.  It meant a lot to us to know people understood and cared.  We were able to bring his ashes home yesterday and have a nice photo of him to join the "memorial shelf" of our furry family members that have crossed the rainbow bridge.

So let's get started on WILLY-NILLY FRIDAY FIVE hosted by Tom, (The Backroads Traveller).

It seems like January went by far to quickly.  Of course that's because it's usually a very busy month for us. What with New Years celebrations and then the take down of all the holiday decorations it keeps us quite busy.

Plus we have back-to-back Birthday celebrations.

1.  First up my mom's 90th birthday

Had almost all the family over for her party.  She had a great birthday.

Followed up the next night with Coleen's 14th birthday.  Just the immediate family for her event.   We both bowled in a Junior/Adult tournament on her birthday.

She had a friend spend the night with her on Sunday and this happened.

2.  Our very first snowfall of the winter.

That's suppose to be a Goblin that they created. - The snow was melted and gone by the 2nd day.

3. Took a drive the day after and the sun was out.  The mountains looked so pretty all covered in snow.

4.  Mom got an Amarylis plant for Christmas and it bloomed this week.  So pretty.

5.  Finally a new edition to the family....

I just felt so bad after Ghost passed away and had nightmares about finding him dead like I did.  I know we didn't need another cat but you all know me by now.  We have a lot of love in our hearts for our animals and I'd like to introduce you to....

                                                       Gidget Ghost
Yes we gave her Ghost for a middle name. - It seemed fitting.  We started out calling her Gizmo but that just didn't seem to fit her personality so we decided on Gidget instead.

Her she is laying with Caramel - They look like they could be related don't they.

She is fitting in quite nicely already.  Only 1 of the cats (Speedy G) seems upset about her being here.  He'll get use to her though.

She's a real sweet heart and has the best purr.  We love her already.

Thanks for your visit and I hope to get by and visit a few blogs this week.

Willy-Nilly Friday Five - December 1, 2017

Welcome - I hope everyone had a good week and for those in the US who celebrated Thanksgiving I hope it was pleasant one.  Ours was quiet but nice.

Hard to believe but Christmas will be here in just 24 days now...so much to do yet.  We have the outside lights up and I'm working on inside decorations this week.  Our tree won't go up for at least a week yet.  We are waiting on a doorway gate to keep the cats out of the room so they won't destroy the tree.

Now let's join Tanya (Around Roanoke) for WILLY-NILLY FRIDAY FIVE.

1.  Spotted in a field while out for a drive this past week.

2.  Flowers my youngest brother, (Roger) sent our mom for Thanksgiving.

Aren't they pretty.

3.  Sitting Pretty - Our oldest cat, Miss Dottie

She's been jumping up on shelves, counters & people this week.  Seems she has a new spring to her step. Not bad for an almost 18 year old cat.

4.  Coleen reading (hah, hah) a book for school homework.

5.  Saw this while driving down the street.

Couldn't resist this musical selection this week.

Have a great weekend everyone! - Thanks for stopping by.

Good Fences #111 - Good Fences, Good Flowers

It's time for some GOOD FENCES hosted by Theresa from The Run-a-round Ranch Report.

It's been another super busy week here.  I had company on Monday, Bowling on Tuesday, Planted Flowers and watered flowers, did laundry, etc...yesterday so there hasn't been much time for blogging.  - I hope to pop in and check out your blogs over the weekend.

Today I have a trio of different fences which feature flowers as well.  Don't fences make lovely backdrops for the flowers?

A lovely Dogwood Bloom graced this fence.

Silver Dollar Plants adorn this fence.

These colorful tulips brightened up this "wonky" looking white fence quite nicely.

Hope you've enjoyed these Good Fences and Good Flowers.

Don't forget to check out all the other Good Fences and Have a Great Day!

Friday Fun - June 19, 2015

Welcome! - Okay let's get started on the fun.  Make not that there are several Memes featured here so if you don't see the one you are looking for keep scroll down.

CAPTION THIS -  This is my own little "thing" that I've started doing.  Each week I post a photo and ask people to give it a Caption (you do this in the comment section) - Then next week I post the name of the person who gave the best caption.  At the end of the month those 4 winner go into a Poll to pick the winning caption for that month.  That person will receive a prize from me.

Here is last weeks winner:  MessyMimi's Meanderings caption won.

I had a hard time picking a winner so I ended up cutting up the captions and picking a winner by having someone draw one of the captions out.  They were all so good this time (way to go people).

So here is this weeks Caption This photo:

You have until 12:00 am on Thursday (25th) to leave your caption.  Have fun.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Let's join Tanya (Around Roanoke) now for WILLY-NILLY FRIDAY FIVE.

Today will be a bit different for me.  I generally include links about the stuff I post but that will not be the case today for all the photos. Instead I have a little "theme" going on with the photos.  You get to see if you can guess what it is. (No prize though for the correct guess) :o(

1.

The neighbors house across the street - Yes I (spy) on people.  Just kidding.

2.
Feathers from one of the colorful Phesant in our Parks Aviary.

3.

Green maples leaves

4.

Clematis vines in a neighbors yard (Yep, I'm spying again.)

5.

Power pole lines in front of my mom's house.

6. - Bonus photo - Same theme though.

Another neighbors trees.

Okay what do you think I was going for with these photos?

Time now for FELINE ART

The original photo:

The Artistic Version:  I edited this using a photo frame found on Pho.to

I love how this turned out.

That's it for today.  Coleen has a little friend staying over and we are going to go do something fun.  I'll visit your blogs when I can.
