"Whatever" Wednesday - Autumn Beauty Edition

Hallelujah the Election is over!!! - No more political ads on TV every 5 minutes, no more annoying political phone calls at all hours of the day, no more signs plastered all over the place urging you to vote for this canidate or issue.    I look forward to Peace and Quiet now.

So today instead of voicing my opinion about the outcome of the election I'm giving you Autumn Beauty!  Our fall has been spectacular after a slow start and would you believe it was 71 here on Monday.  Of course (_ _ _ _) is expected this weekend.  You can fill in the blanks.  I'm hoping that maybe if I don't type the word or say it that it will not happen.  I'm so not ready for it, that's for sure.

       Took this shot while waiting at the stop light the other day.  Look at all that color!

 

I love the way the leaves carpet the ground.

I spotted this lovely autumn drenched stream the other day and had to take a photo.

                   I love the lacey look of these green leaves edged in yellow with those little tips of red.

Spotted these beauties in a parkling lot of a local church and popped in to take their picture.

I liked this vining plant and the rain soaked leaves that had fallen on top of it just added to it's charm.

These pretty leaves had drops of rain just hovering near the edge waiting to fall to the earth.  Such delicate beauty.

Finally the sun was out on this day and just made this tree alive with gorgeous color.

          Today these same trees are completely bare of all that stunning color.




I drove around yesterday afternoon and took a few shots of some of the Fall color here  in town.  Here are some of my photo's.

I loved this tree. - So much that I took a couple of close-ups as well.

Just look at the "Rainbow" of colors on this tree.  - These trees are located in the parking lot of the Grocery store that I shop at.

Same type of tree but this one had more orange and yellow colors of leaves.

Love the dramatic looks of this bush against the white house.

It had been raining yesterday off and on and I just though the drops of rain on this little bush were so lovely.

Discovered these "Christmas Colors" on an Oregon Grape bush.  - Next shot, Same bush but look at the difference in the color of the leaves.

No wonder Fall is one of my favorite seasons when I get to enjoy God's marvelous handiwork in the stunning fall foliage.

"Whatever Wednesday" - Pumpkin Patch and Autumn Edition

Oh goodness last week completely zipped by and I just didn't get around to uploading my Whatever Wednesday photos.  I apologize and hope that you will enjoy today's edition.

About a week ago I took Coleen out one afternoon and took some pictures of her in some trees (Flame Maples) just around the block from where we live.  I'm sharing a couple of those shots here today.

The wonderful thing about these trees is that the leaves can be, Orange, Yellow and Brilliant Red all on the same tree at the same time.  They are so beautiful.  Sadly the colors only last about a week and then the leaves fall off the tree almost over night.  About 2 days after these pictures were taken the trees were almost totally bare of leaves.

We made our annual trip to the Pumpkin Patch so here are a few of the photo that I took there.

They have this great slide there for the kids and Coleen enjoys sliding down it.

Finally a Bowling League update.  Last week Mike & I joined a Sunday night league which meets every other Sunday.  I probably won't be updating scores from that league unless I feel the need to do so.

However this week on the Tuesday morning league I bowl on with my mom I had this:

My name is the top bowler:  IPK - and my last game was a 202!!!  - My first 200+ of the season.  The other scores:  163-143 and my 202 for a 508 series for the day.

Orange You Glad It's Friday - August 31, 2012

           
                                                                      There is a new Meme out now over on Sarah's blog (Hood Photos) called, "Orange You Glad It's Friday" where you can feature Sarah's favorite color....ORANGE!  - I missed last week which was the very first week but I'm in today with this photo of some pre-Autumn foliage that I took up at Bennington Lake last week.

I love Autumn and the changing of the colors on the trees so I had to snap this photo.  I love the play of sun on the leaf and the muted background.  I thought about adding a "texture" to the photo and then decided to just leave it as it was SOOC.

While I love fall I'm a bit sad this year to see summer starting to come to an end.  Can't quite put my finger on it yet but I think it's due to the fact that I really dread what follows fall (winter) and I'm so not looking forward to that.  I'm just not a lover of cold, ice and snow.
