September Events - Day 1 (Birthday Girl)

Someone turned 4 in September and today I'm sharing a few photos from her birthday celebration.  These first 2 were taken the morning of her birthday.  The rest are from her birthday party later that day.

Some of the many (Under the Sea) decorations that her mom and sister set up for the party.

Waiting to open presents and opening them.  There were lots more but I figured these 2 would be enough to share.

The cupcakes, blowing out the candle and enjoying the cupcake.

Grandma and Grandpa playing along with some of the props that were available for everyone to wear and have fun with.

It was 94 out that afternoon so I didn't get many pictures of the kids playing on the playground equipment.  They had fun, we did too but boy was it HOT.  Maybe next year she can have an indoor party.

The Good. The Random. The Fun - Sept. 9, 2024

Well it's been awhile since I've joined in at Tamar's blog for:
The Good. The Random. The Fun. - Shame on me.  Anyway here goes:

The Good:

My nephew (Richie) got married on the 3rd.  Snapped this shot of him and his bride (Courtney) at the ceremony.  More photos of the wedding to follow in another post.

The Random:

Sometimes I take random photos of things that catch my eye.  This is a piece of tubing laying outside on the concrete by our back door.  Which do you prefer, Colored or Black and White?

The Fun:
Someone had a birthday on the 1st.  Her she is having some fun with her cupcakes and decorations.

and one more having some fun in a bouncy house at another event this week (Wheelin' Walla Walla Car Parade)

Be sure to stop by Tamar's blog and check out some of the other participants.

Birthday Celebration #3

Hello  - Remember me? - Yes I seem to have a hard time finding time to post here even though I have a bunch of stuff I could post about.

So today we are doing a post to celebrate (Red's) aka JoJo or Joelle's 3rd birthday.

The birthday girl and her balloons.

Telling everyone how old she is.

They gave her a birthday crown at Day Care so she had to wear it.

Posing next to her presents.  She likes to say, "Cheese" before a   picture gets taken.

Opening up one of her presents.

Blowing out the candles on her cake.

Enjoying that cake and her birthday.

Funniest thing that happened...On her very last present she opened it was wrapped in a box.  After she tore the paper off she held it up and very excitedly said,   "I got a box!" -  Everyone laughed and then we told her she had to open the box to see what was inside.  Pulls out a pair of pants,  say, "Pants" tosses them on the ground and then pulls out a sweatshirt with a Butterfly on it and gets all excited again,  "I got a butterfly!".  Kids are so funny.

Willy Nilly Friday Five

Joining Tom (The backroads traveller) for WILLY NILLY FRIDAY FIVE

 1.  I have (no clue) what type of a plant this is.  Saw it in the garden at the grade school and liked the shape of the pods.

2.  Peeling tree bark.  I always think this looks really cool.

3.  Just a cheery little sunflower to brighten your day.

4. Met this little cutie while out on a walk.  I ask his owner if I could take his picture and he said, sure.  His name....Crusher!

5.  Birthday girl enjoying her cake

6. Bonus Shot: Watusi cattle
Leaving you with a video of a song that speaks volume.  It isn't your Political Views or your Social Platforms that matter.  How will you choose to be remembered? Nothing else matters.

Just in case the video doesn't play for you here are the lyrics.

Trouble, we have known trouble
In our struggle just to get by
Many times the burden's been heavy
Still we carried on side by side
And when we're gone, long gone
The only thing that will have mattered
Is the love that we shared
And the way that we cared
When we're gone, long gone
And when we're walking together in glory
Hand in hand through eternity
It's the love that will be remembered
Not wealth, not poverty
And when we're gone, long gone
The only thing that will have mattered
Is the love that we've shared
And the way that we cared
When we're gone, long gone
When we're gone, long gone
The only thing that will have mattered
Is the love that we shared
And the way that we cared
When we're gone, long gone

Willy Nilly Friday Five - February 1, 2019

Welcome!

Finally finding some time to post on the blog again.

Before I get started I want to thank each and everyone who sent such wonderful messages on the loss of our cat, Ghost.  It meant a lot to us to know people understood and cared.  We were able to bring his ashes home yesterday and have a nice photo of him to join the "memorial shelf" of our furry family members that have crossed the rainbow bridge.

So let's get started on WILLY-NILLY FRIDAY FIVE hosted by Tom, (The Backroads Traveller).

It seems like January went by far to quickly.  Of course that's because it's usually a very busy month for us. What with New Years celebrations and then the take down of all the holiday decorations it keeps us quite busy.

Plus we have back-to-back Birthday celebrations.

1.  First up my mom's 90th birthday

Had almost all the family over for her party.  She had a great birthday.

Followed up the next night with Coleen's 14th birthday.  Just the immediate family for her event.   We both bowled in a Junior/Adult tournament on her birthday.

She had a friend spend the night with her on Sunday and this happened.

2.  Our very first snowfall of the winter.

That's suppose to be a Goblin that they created. - The snow was melted and gone by the 2nd day.

3. Took a drive the day after and the sun was out.  The mountains looked so pretty all covered in snow.

4.  Mom got an Amarylis plant for Christmas and it bloomed this week.  So pretty.

5.  Finally a new edition to the family....

I just felt so bad after Ghost passed away and had nightmares about finding him dead like I did.  I know we didn't need another cat but you all know me by now.  We have a lot of love in our hearts for our animals and I'd like to introduce you to....

                                                       Gidget Ghost
Yes we gave her Ghost for a middle name. - It seemed fitting.  We started out calling her Gizmo but that just didn't seem to fit her personality so we decided on Gidget instead.

Her she is laying with Caramel - They look like they could be related don't they.

She is fitting in quite nicely already.  Only 1 of the cats (Speedy G) seems upset about her being here.  He'll get use to her though.

She's a real sweet heart and has the best purr.  We love her already.

Thanks for your visit and I hope to get by and visit a few blogs this week.

Willy Nilly Friday Five, 10 Things of Thankful

Welcome & Happy Friday.

Today I'm joining Tanya for Willy-Nilly Friday Five and Josie for Ten Things of Thankful.

This is my first time joining in this meme but I think it's a good one to participate in.

TEN THINGS OF THANKFUL

The first 5 things are also part of WILLY-NILLY FRIDAY FIVE

1. Last week while dealing with our computer issues I was driving out to WalMart to try and find a DSL Modem to replace the one we had that had gone bad due to a "power surge" earlier in the week.  So I am stopped at a traffice light when I hear a loud pop followed by another pop and a jolt to our van. - We had been rear ended because the car behind us had been rear ended and it threw them into the back of our van.  - I got out and looked at the damage to the van and told the driver of the car behind me I wasn't even going to worry about it and he could deal with the car that hit him.  So I'm thankful that we weren't hurt and that this was the only damage to our van.

2. I'm thankful for my Granddaughter, Coleen and the fact that she wants to share fun little things with her Grandma.  Her teacher showed the kids a website the other day at school and Coleen had to show it to me. - Warning it's addictive.  It's called: Quick Draw - Just click on the link and have fun.

3.  We've had so much rain this month we've almost needed row boats to get around (well it seems that way) so I'm thankful that today it's not raining and my daffodils look like this...

Instead of this:

4.  I'm thankful for being able to see this yesterday on a short little drive I took with my mom.

It's always fun to spot this group of deer that hang out in a residential area.

5.  I'm thankful for cute birthday gifts like this solar flower that I got from my daughter & granddaughter for my birthday last week & for everyone that has wished me a Happy B-Day recently.

It's pretty during the day just as it is and at night that little ball in the center changed colors.  So pretty.

6. I'm thankful for:  Peanut Butter...yes, it's my go to breakfast when we are short on grocery money and I can even eat it right out of the jar for a snack too.  Yum!

7.  I'm thankful for Casper The Friendly Squirrel...that's what I've named this little fellow who is always willing to come and take peanuts from my hand. - Coleen was able to get a picture of him yesterday taking peanuts from me.

Coleen asked me how I knew which squirrel it was and I can tell you this little fellow has a stubby tail and I know it's him by his tail and the fact he isn't afraid to take the peanuts out of my hand like most of the other squirrels are.

8.  I'm thankful that my husband has been able to find jobs to help keep money coming in as it's been really "tight" budget wise since he retired and now has to depend on finding work on his own.

9.  I'm thankful for all our kitties (Miss Dottie, Callie-Jo, Harley, Captain Cuddles, Ghost, Spooky-Boo, Bandit, Pepper, and Caramel Honeybun) as they always make me smile. Like Miss Dottie here cramming herself into a cardboard box that was way to small but she managed to fit inside it.

10. I'm thankful for everyone who stops by my blog and leaves a comment or just stops in because it makes me feel goo to know you've been by.  - I hope you've enjoyed your stay here today.

Have a great weekend.
