Random 5 Friday

Happy Friday!  It's time for some "Randomness" so join me and the host of RANDOM 5 FRIDAY, the wonderful Nancy from (A Rural Journal) for some random thoughts.

1.  Signs of spring are on the way!!! - I got to spend some time outside this week and even managed to clear some of the leaves and weeds out of my flower beds.  Look what I saw yesterday.

2.  Why is it when you have a day off from school like Coleen does today that it rains?  Yes, yesterday it was beautiful outside (64 degrees) and today it's raining. I always hated that when I was a kid.  The week before spring break it would be gorgeous and then you would have your break and it would rain the entire week and clear off the day you had to head back to school.

3.  So now that the "Bachelor" show is over and might I add ("good riddance" to Juan Pablo and his, "I like you a lot" winner) it's time to move on to Dancing With The Stars.  Promises to be an interesting season with all the new changes.  - Yes I love so called (reality) TV shows but only certain ones.

4.  Had a fun lunch out on Monday with a bunch of ladies from our church who all have birthday in the month of March.  We ate at a Chinese Buffet place and just had a fun time getting to know each other better.

5. We got a new neighbor in the house next door to us (not my mom's place).  The house has been vacant since last October.  The last neighbors weren't bad but they did get into shouting matches with lots of 4-letter words and the cops were there a lot because their son was always in trouble with the law (drugs, domestic violence) so it's a relief to have a nice, quiet, middle-aged, single woman living there now.

So now I leave you with my "Quote of the Week" photo.

Off to get more coffee so I can browse your blogs, first though I have to go separate fighting cats (Spooky-boo and Cuddles) and then feed the birds and squirrels.  I hate going out in the rain.

  3. You are so right about raining on spring break and nice weather about the time to head back to school! Seems it always happens.
I love Coleen and the violets. So happy you have a nice, new neighbor. I'm sure the other folks caused you a lot of stress.
Best wishes with the kitty cats and enjoy your coffee.

  4. Isn't that how it always goes. You get rain on your days off.. I lived in the desert where it never rained. So I do enjoy the rain.. Loved reading your blog this morning. And I love all your wonderful photos. That ladybug look amazing. And I love the one of your daughter.

Hope you have a nice weekend.

  11. there's something kind of magic about sighting a lady-beetle .. I've always felt that, I wonder why? Rain happens, it's the same for the working week-day, employees are looking forward to a clear weekend. I love the little viola, will definately get some punnets of those for the winter months ahead still. Oh, I
've never seen the blue flower following it, a little bulb no doubt; beautiful, and the crocuses after that. Good idea celebrating the same month birthdays in one hit. Good one, on the new neighbour (she sounds like me :). And violets too, very nostalgic, you rarely see them anymore.

  22. So many beautiful purples today, gorgeous blooms, drenched in sun!!

Juan P was such a disappointment, poor Niccki, she sure seemed like a smart girl!!

  23. Isn't it wonderful to see spring erupting from the earth, and to view the delicate blooms? I'm glad you're digging in your flower beds and starting the new season. It feels so good after a long winter!

  24. Your shots give me spring fever something terrible! And that last shot is all sorts of cuteness. Fantastic finds this week. I'm curious as to whether Juan will ever commit to Nickie. I hope she doesn't waste a lot of time waiting on him. I've been watching The Voice and discovered I really like it!

  25. Oh, I especially love the first shot with the ladybug and the last one with Coleen! We've been having some beautiful days, too, but the last couple have been a little breezy and chilly. I kind of like going out in the rain as long as I'm dressed for it, and I love getting all dry and cozy when I come home. However, I don't like the rain when I have to run from my car in the lower parking lot at work. Sometimes I'm soaked by the time I get in the building!
