Willly Nilly Friday Five and Feline Friday

Welcome!

Wow summer is almost officially over since Fall starts in 2 weeks.  Where did the time go?

Joining Tom (The Backroads Traveller) today for:
WILLY NILLY FRIDAY FIVE

1.  The last time I posted for WNFF - I posted the photo below and promised to share a closer view of the sculpture so as promised below is a better view.

I really like this sculpture.  There was another one across the street that I'll share another time (got to keep you anticipating)

2.  We took a drive over the the Tri-Cities (Pasco, Kennewick, Richland) to a music store last month.  On the way back I spotted a bunch of birds sitting on some rocks on the riverbank.  I spotted a Pelican perched on a large rock and asked hubby to stop so I could get a photo.  It was posing so nicely.  Well just as I got down to where I thought I could get a decent photo the birds all flew off and this is all I got.  (No Pelicans here, just Seagulls).

It still turned out pretty cool.  The reason the birds flew.....

Someone let their dog out...oh that made me mad.

3.  I love the area we live in.  Lots of mountains and fields to visit.  Took this shot of a plowed field while drive up Scenic Loop last week.

I found the patterns rather fascinating.

4.  I participate in a group called 52 Frames and last week my Purple Cow was chosed as one of the 52 Committee Picks for the weekly theme.  The theme was,  "Purple."  -  Coleen helped me by making me an Oragami Cow.  I was inspired by the little poem:

The Purple Cow

I never saw a Purple Cow,
I never hope to see one,
But I can tell you, anyhow,
I’d rather see than be one!

 5.  More deer sightings.  Look at the impressive rack on the Buck.  I sure hope he makes it through hunting season.

 Bonus shot:

A black and white of part of the Wedding Fountain in Pioneer Park.

My music selection today isn't my typical music style.  I was just surprised to learn that one of my favorite Hallmark Actresses (Alicia Witt) is also an accomplished pianist and singer.  I actually like her voice so may have to purchase some of her albums.

Something funny for FELINE FRIDAY:  (Comedy Plus)

Can't leave without sharing one of our kitties to:

Not the clearest shot but I had to shot quickly before he sucked that little tongue back in!  -  This one is Bandit.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday - September 21, 2014

Hello!  -  It's time to go on a "hunt" or rather a Scavenger Hunt.  Let's join Ashley (Ramblings and Photos) for SCAVENGER HUNT SUNDAY.

This weeks prompts are:  WINDOW, SQUARE, PICTURE IN PICTURE, CURVE and PATTERN.

Let's get started:

WINDOW:  This is my one and only "archive" shot this week.

My favorite car from the car show I went to a few weekends ago is this 1956 T-Bird and my favorite feature on the car are those adorable round windows.

SQUARE:  Out and about today on a drive I spotted some baled hay and thought it would work for the Square prompt.

They aren't really square but there is a square within the bales.

PICTURE IN PICTURE:  This one sort of stumped me.  Then I remembered a scene from the movie,  The Electric Horseman starring, Robert Redford and Jane Fonda.

(That's a picture of our TV with the scene from the movie).
The dialog for this picture from the movie:

Ampco Industries PR Man: Grace, why don't you stand in front of that poster with Sonny, and Steve can take your picture to bring home.

Sonny Steele: Oh, no, why don't you just take a picture of Grace in front of that picture of me with that box with the picture of me on the box holding the picture of me with the picture of me? Then you've got Grace, and you've got a whole bunch of pictures of me.

CURVE:

A curve in the road where we stopped to take some pictures of some wild turkeys.

PATTERN:

A pattern created in a farmer's plowed field.

Random 5 Friday

It's Friday!!! - Hopefully for those of you who live in areas where the (Polar Vortex) took place you've warmed up a bit.

Are you ready for some "randomness"?

Yes,  Well then let's join Nancy (A Rural Journal) and have some fun with Random 5 Friday!

1.  On Monday I took my mom out to look for a new recliner chair.  Which she found but of course they had to order so it's not here yet.  -  But that's not really what I wanted to talk about.  -  On the way home we spotted a hawk and I just happened to have my camera with me.  I've been dying to see if I could get a decent picture of one with my new lens.

This isn't the best of shots because my camera settings weren't on what they should have been so I had to work with this photo a little to get it to look halfway decent but I like it.

2.  It snowed here on Tuesday evening.  - Nope I didn't take any photo's.  Besides people are probably getting tired of snow photos by now and let's face it 1 inch of snow that melted by the end of the next day is not something to get to excited about.

3.  I had a Root Canal done yesterday.  Oh goodie! - I hate going to the dentist and am always a nervous wreck until it's over and done with.  My mouth hurts today and my gums look like they've been ran over by a Mack truck but I survived and if it get's rid of the problem with the sore on my gums then it will be worth it.

4.  Hey the bull-riding I mentioned last week went great.  My favorite cowboy (Mike Lee)  finished in 5th place  in the event, which isn't bad for a guy that's 30 now and one of the "older" cowboys competing still.  What a tough sport that is.  There is one guy (Pistol Robinson) who just came back after a year off due to breaking both of his legs at an event.  Talk about loving what you do, to come back after that and keep on riding, truly amazing.

5.  Well tonight is the long awaited Piano Recital for Coleen.  For those who weren't aware the one that was scheduled for Dec. 20th was cancelled due to bad weather that night.  She's excited though about finally getting the chance to play her pieces.  -  I'll post pictures for sure.

That's it for this week.  - I included my very first "decent" picture of the moon for you this week, a random shot of some leaves and seed pods, and a random photo (see below) taken last November and never shown on the blog of a farmer's field with the sun shining on it.
