Easter Part 1

Welcome!  - I'm up and running again with a brand new computer system.  It may take me awhile to get use to this as I accidentally published this post to the wrong blog and then deleted it so I had to start all over.

Every year the Exchange club puts on an Easter Egg Hunt at Pioneer Park.  This is the banner that was on the Gazebo.

Jojo (Joelle) waiting for the hunt to start.

The large duck from the upcoming Ducky Derby (May 18, 2024) was there.

Both the Easter bunny and the duck were available for photos but with such a huge crowd it was almost impossible to get one.

Candy, eggs and rubber ducks were all over the place.

Jojo wasn't afraid at all of heading out into the crowd to gather eggs.

Big sister followed her out along with her mom while I tried to keep up and get pictures.

This was just a small section of the huge crowd of people that were there. - I forgot to get a picture of Jojo with her basket of eggs but she had a great time and that's what matters.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you enjoyed this little slice of our life.

Willy Nilly Friday Five (a little late) and a salute to Veteran's.

Yep, It's Sunday folks and I'm just getting around to posting for:
WILLY NILLY FRIDAY FIVE (hosted by Tom, The Backroads Traveller). What can I say, it's been that kind of a week.

So let's get started:
1. Spotted this at the Wedding Fountain in Pioneer Park one afternoon.

2.  Spotted in the Parking Lot at the Grocery store.  - Okay now you might think, Zebra car, yes it is but what you don't realize is that I accidentally took the shot in Black and White.....

Here is the car as it actually looked:

3.   Last weeks shot for 52 Frames, Macro theme.  This is my granddaughter's Leopard Gecko, Speedy.  Isn't she a beauty.

 4.  Fall is still pretty here.  Most of the trees have lost there leaves but a few still remain.  Here are some fall shots to enjoy.

                                            Vines on a chimney

                                                Golden Carpet

                                              Beauty in the Park
5.  Spotted while out on a drive yesterday:

Bonus:  In Honor of our Veterans:

                                           Liberty Bell Balloon

                                 Community College Campus

Musical Selection:

Thanks for your Service and Sacrifice to keep us safe.  God Bless You and America.

Willly Nilly Friday Five and Feline Friday

Welcome!

Wow summer is almost officially over since Fall starts in 2 weeks.  Where did the time go?

Joining Tom (The Backroads Traveller) today for:
WILLY NILLY FRIDAY FIVE

1.  The last time I posted for WNFF - I posted the photo below and promised to share a closer view of the sculpture so as promised below is a better view.

I really like this sculpture.  There was another one across the street that I'll share another time (got to keep you anticipating)

2.  We took a drive over the the Tri-Cities (Pasco, Kennewick, Richland) to a music store last month.  On the way back I spotted a bunch of birds sitting on some rocks on the riverbank.  I spotted a Pelican perched on a large rock and asked hubby to stop so I could get a photo.  It was posing so nicely.  Well just as I got down to where I thought I could get a decent photo the birds all flew off and this is all I got.  (No Pelicans here, just Seagulls).

It still turned out pretty cool.  The reason the birds flew.....

Someone let their dog out...oh that made me mad.

3.  I love the area we live in.  Lots of mountains and fields to visit.  Took this shot of a plowed field while drive up Scenic Loop last week.

I found the patterns rather fascinating.

4.  I participate in a group called 52 Frames and last week my Purple Cow was chosed as one of the 52 Committee Picks for the weekly theme.  The theme was,  "Purple."  -  Coleen helped me by making me an Oragami Cow.  I was inspired by the little poem:

The Purple Cow

I never saw a Purple Cow,
I never hope to see one,
But I can tell you, anyhow,
I’d rather see than be one!

 5.  More deer sightings.  Look at the impressive rack on the Buck.  I sure hope he makes it through hunting season.

 Bonus shot:

A black and white of part of the Wedding Fountain in Pioneer Park.

My music selection today isn't my typical music style.  I was just surprised to learn that one of my favorite Hallmark Actresses (Alicia Witt) is also an accomplished pianist and singer.  I actually like her voice so may have to purchase some of her albums.

Something funny for FELINE FRIDAY:  (Comedy Plus)

Image may contain: people sitting

Can't leave without sharing one of our kitties to:

Not the clearest shot but I had to shot quickly before he sucked that little tongue back in!  -  This one is Bandit.

Wild Bird Wednesday - March 14, 2018

Joining, Stewart (Paying Reading Attention) for:
WILD BIRD WEDNESDAY

These shots were taken through the openings of a chain link fence at the local city park (Pioneer Park) aviary.

I love the colors of this duck and the fact I caught the water drip as well.

That red eye is sure "eye-catching." - The female is in front, wish I would have got a shot of her too.  Maybe another time.

Back view of the male as he swam the other direction.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday - October 5, 2014

Welcome! -  Won't you join me now as we head out with Ashley (Ramblings and Photos) for,
SCAVENGER HUNT SUNDAY.

This weeks prompts were:  Autumn, Leaves, Boots,
Hot Beverage, Game.

AUTUMN:  This is my favorite season of the year and I just love it when I find scenes like this one.

This is the spillway on Millcreek at Rooks Park.  The same place I photographed the Great Egret last week.

LEAVES:  Of course I could have gone with some fall colors for leaves but instead I found these while out on a little photo shoot around town.

Varigated leaves are some of my favorites and I like the stone pillar with the lichen that they are resting up against.

BOOTS:  You've got to love an Ox wearing boots.

This bronze statue sits in Pioneer Park. - I convereted this shot to black and white and really like how it turned out.

HOT BEVERAGE:  I so wanted something really cool for this shot but just could not get a photo I really liked and was running out of time so you have to settle for this:

Hot Apple Cider.  I wanted to include a Cinnamon stick but at $7.00 for a small bottle with about 3-4 cinnamon sticks inside I decided the cider would just go without it.

GAME:  Coleen and her new dad, Kelly like to play different games.  Here they are enjoying a game of Battleship together.

We have awful lighting in our living room so you this isn't exactly the best shot but it fits the prompt.

It was a hard week for me with a couple of the prompts.  Maybe next week will be better.

Next weeks prompts for those who want to play along are:
  • 1. Details
  • 2. Friend
  • 3. Comfort
  • 4. Above
  • 5. New

  • So that's it for this hunt.  I hope you've enjoyed your stay.  Be sure to stop by Ashley's blog and check out the other participants.  Have a great day.
