Feline Friday - July 21, 2023

Well I haven't joined in on Feline Friday for awhile so I thought today I would share our feline's with you all.

This is our oldest cat,  Harley J - He turned 15 in May of this year.

Next up is our cat, Bandit - He turned 8 in May of this year.

Next in line is my sweet, Caramel who will be 7 in September.

Continuing on with Speedy G - Who will be 6 in October.

Next up is Gidget who turned 4 in February of this year.

Followed next by,  Rowdy who turns 2 in September.

Bringing up the rear (last but not least) is, Rascal (not to be confused with Bandit) - He turned 1 in April of this year.

That rounds out the furry kitty family here.  They do keep us busy!

Feel free to participate in the hop.

Seasons - Recent Happenings

Welcome! - It's been crazy busy here the last couple of weeks.  Summer has arrived!

We've had record heat this past week with temps in the 100's already.  Thankfully it is supposed to cool down later this week.

So for today I'm joining, Jesh (St. Germains) for SEASONS

My dad would have been 96 on May 27th and is our tradition we always take flowers out to his grave on his birthday anniversary and then refresh the bouquet again for Memorial Day.  This is the birthday bouquet we took.  Flowers from my mom's & my gardens.

We took a trip up on Saturday the 28th to my brother's cabin for a family gathering and BBQ.

This is the view they have from their cabin. - Isn't it gorgeous.

Two of my brothers, Richard (L) and Russell (R) - Getting ready to grill the hamburgers.

Coleen entered her school's talent show and sang, Hurricane.   She did a really nice job with the song.  I'm so proud of her.  I would have been scared to death at that age to stand up and sing in front of other people.

This week has been filled with lots of activities related to her end of Elementary school days.  One more to go with tomorrows Recognition Ceremony for the 5th graders moving on to middle school in the fall.

On other news I got a new camera!!! - A Canon 70D - I've been spending time trying to learn how to use it.  The above shot was taken the first day I got the camera.  There's a lot of different things to learn as the buttons are all different from my old one but I'm having fun with it.  Cats here are Harley and Callie-Jo.

I've been busy watering and weeding and taking care of flower beds.  I shot this pretty photo of the Hibiscus plant that Greta gave me for May Day.  It's really been blooming up a storm.

With summer comes an abundance of fresh fruit and produce in our area.  Here are the summer's first Bing Cherries that we've been enjoying.

Hope you've enjoyed a little glimpse into the Seasons around here.

Willy Nilly Friday 5, Feline Art/Friday.

 Happy Friday!

Tanya (Around Roanoke) is back with WILLY-NILLY FRIDAY FIVE again!

1.  That 1st Day of School must have been tiring.  I found Coleen asleep in my chair about an hour after she got home from school. - I think getting up earlier took it's toll.

2.  We spotted this Bumble Bee drying out it's wings on the bird feeder and Coleen wanted me to take it's picture.  I love how "fuzzy" it is.

3.  One of the last fun things we did before school started was the Mentos and Coke experiment.  Coleen and her friend, Emily had a lot of fun watching the coke explosion after they dropped the Mentos in the bottle.

4.  I've spotted these deer several times in recent weeks.  I sent copies of these photos into our local paper.  They published the first two.  I wanted to share the doe as I think she's just as pretty.  I thought it was neat to have my photos published but they spelt my last name wrong which sort of bummed me out.

5.  Our new little kitten Pepper is getting along great now with all the other cats.  I caught this sweet photo of her sleeping next to our oldest male cat, Harley the other night.

I tell you with 8 cats in the house now we sure go through a lot of cat food!

Scavenger Hunt Sunday - January 13, 2013

Click HERE for my Photo Art Friday entry.

A hunting we will go, a hunting we will go...Off now to join Ashley for
Scavenger Hunt Sunday

The prompts for this weeks hunt are:  Outside, Backside, Little Things, A Cup of... and
Reflect.

OUTSIDE:

Captured this little guy outside enjoying some of the bird/squirrel food I leave out.

BACKSIDE:

Our cat, Harley's backside.  He has a very long tail.

LITTLE THINGS:

Little things like chocolate covered cherries make me happy!

A Cup of....

Cocoa for Coleen.  She just love hot chocolate with mini marshmallows (come to think of it, so do I!)

REFLECT:

Our dog, Cricket (actually sitting still long enough for a picture) seems to have a reflective look in her face and her eyes also reflect her surroundings.

So does anyone notice anything different about my photo's this week?  Tell me what you think is different.
