Willy Nilly Friday Five - Two Weeks worth

Thank you to everyone who wished me well on my Cataract surgery this week. - I am happy to report it was a HUGE success.

Now on to WILLY NILLY FRIDAY FIVE  hosted by Tom The Backroads Traveller.  - I'm doing last week & this week in this post.

1. Spotted this bush out on a walk. - You could almost call it a, Burning Bush.

2. Saw some deer on a drive recently.  The one in the front had a hurt leg.  You can see she's holding it up off the ground.

3. Squirrel leftovers? - Maybe someone picked it and was doing the loves me, loves me not routine.  Who knows but it caught my attention.

4. Brightly colored oak leaves.  Both are from the same tree.

5. These ducks were out and about for a little swim in a creek near the oak tree.

6.  A little train graffiti

7.  Some cheery daisies on a drizzly day.

 8.  Pumpkins for the kids

9.  Mushroom - They seem to be popping up all over the place.
10.  My mom loved to put up little decorative flags so after she passed away & my daughter moved into the house she is carrying on the tradition and bought this little flag to display.

That's it for me this week. - Leaving you with a song that is fitting for me this week.

Willy Nilly Friday Five (a little late) and a salute to Veteran's.

Yep, It's Sunday folks and I'm just getting around to posting for:
WILLY NILLY FRIDAY FIVE (hosted by Tom, The Backroads Traveller). What can I say, it's been that kind of a week.

So let's get started:
1. Spotted this at the Wedding Fountain in Pioneer Park one afternoon.

2.  Spotted in the Parking Lot at the Grocery store.  - Okay now you might think, Zebra car, yes it is but what you don't realize is that I accidentally took the shot in Black and White.....

Here is the car as it actually looked:

3.   Last weeks shot for 52 Frames, Macro theme.  This is my granddaughter's Leopard Gecko, Speedy.  Isn't she a beauty.

 4.  Fall is still pretty here.  Most of the trees have lost there leaves but a few still remain.  Here are some fall shots to enjoy.

Good Fences #121 - Graceful Deer (With Fences)

Hello & Welcome!  - If you are visiting for (Seasons or Tuesday's Treasures) Click on the link and you'll be taken to that post.

Now it's time to join Theresa (The Run-a-round Ranch Report) for,
GOOD FENCES.

Last week Coleen, my mom & I took a short drive up to Bennington Lake to look around for a bit.  On the drive back down from the lake we spotted the following....

These two deer enjoying the lush grass.  I shot this through the dirty windshield so as not to scare them off.  They didn't seem to concerned though.

The doe (on the left) moved back across the road and if you enlarge this shot you'll see that the deer on the right is a buck with a spike antler.

He resumed grazing while she kept a watchful eye on me as I eased closer to them.

These next shots I was able to roll the windows down and take them.

Mr. Buck decided I was getting to close so he hopped the guardrail on the other side of the road and stood in the tall grass.  No fence in this shot but let's just say he's "fenced in" by all that grass.

The watchful doe stayed where she was briefly and even posed for this lovely shot.  We believe she's been "tagged" by the mark on her ear or had it torn somehow.  It was hard to tell which.

Then she turned and we noticed a second doe behind the fence.

The first one joined her and as I had cars backed up behind me on the road I was only able to get one more quick shot of the second doe before I had to drive on down the road.

Always a treat for me to see deer in the wild and even better when they have fences in the shots to share with Good Fences.

Don't forget to check out the other participants.

Good Fences #99 - Soccer Match

Welcome everyone. - It's time for GOOD FENCES
hosted by Theresa from The Run-a-round Ranch Report.

Today I'm sharing some fence shots taken last summer.

My great Nephew Andrew plays soccer and I went to watch one of his matches.

In this shot you see him and his mother, my niece (Shelby).  I'm not sure what Andrew was looking at but there is a nice tall chain link fence in this shot.

Here you can see him in action during the game.

Now in this next shot you'll see some of his team mates playing and if you look closely you'll see they have an audience watching the game.

I cropped this next shot so you can see the audience a little better....

It would appear that even doves enjoy a good soccer match!

Oh and let's not forget that there were some other animals watching the game too......

From across the field a doe and her 2 fawns took in the action as well.

Have a great day & don't forget to check out the other great fences.

Willy Nilly Friday 5, Feline Art/Friday.

 Happy Friday!

Tanya (Around Roanoke) is back with WILLY-NILLY FRIDAY FIVE again!

1.  That 1st Day of School must have been tiring.  I found Coleen asleep in my chair about an hour after she got home from school. - I think getting up earlier took it's toll.

2.  We spotted this Bumble Bee drying out it's wings on the bird feeder and Coleen wanted me to take it's picture.  I love how "fuzzy" it is.

3.  One of the last fun things we did before school started was the Mentos and Coke experiment.  Coleen and her friend, Emily had a lot of fun watching the coke explosion after they dropped the Mentos in the bottle.

4.  I've spotted these deer several times in recent weeks.  I sent copies of these photos into our local paper.  They published the first two.  I wanted to share the doe as I think she's just as pretty.  I thought it was neat to have my photos published but they spelt my last name wrong which sort of bummed me out.

5.  Our new little kitten Pepper is getting along great now with all the other cats.  I caught this sweet photo of her sleeping next to our oldest male cat, Harley the other night.

I tell you with 8 cats in the house now we sure go through a lot of cat food!

Also Joining FELINE ART - With this same photo but edited at iPiccy and Pic Monkey

Have a fabulous weekend - I'm off to bake a cake now.

Friday Fun - July 31, 2015

Posting some Friday 5's and joining Orange You Glad It's Friday along with sharing some kitty photos.

1.  Here is my shot for OYGIF - The sign at the college for the firefighters.
I am happy to report the fire is 95% contained.

2.  We drove up Scenic Loop today and you could see a small portion of the burn area from the fire.

The burned area is in the middle of the shot.  The fire extend much further back then this shot but we weren't able to drive into the burn area just yet as they are still working on putting the last of the fire out.

3. Spotted this plant growing in someone's parking strip garden (which I'll share more of later on.) - I don't remember what this plant is called though.  If you know let me know and I'll give it a name.  I think it's really pretty though.

Edited:  Mildred from Cattales supplied me with the plant name:  Love Lies Bleeding.  The technical name is:  Amaranthus caudatus  Thanks Mildred.

4.  While on our drive up to the mountains Coleen spotted some deer in someone's yard so I backed up until I could see them decent enough to snap a photo of them.

5.  We took our kitten Bandit in for his rabies shot this morning.  Since he was featured on Monday for Mancat Monday I thought today you could see our female cats.  Someone who commented on Monday said they should be featured on "Femcat Friday" so that's what I'm going to call it for these shots.

This is Miss Dottie - She is 15 years old

This is Snickers who is also 15 years old.

Finally a funny shot of Callie-Jo who is 7 years old.  This shot is for Crockett from Lone Star Cats who loves to give "raspberries"

Have a fabulous weekend!
