Willy Nilly Friday Five and 1000 Posts

Welcome! - Today is a "milestone" day for this blog.  This is my 1000th Post.  I started this blog back in September of 2007.  My first real post was this one:  featuring a Tortellini recipe.

Alot has changed since then but I'm still blogging (when I can) and enjoying sharing with those of you who continue to follow my blog.

Up today for WILLY-NILLY FRIDAY FIVE:
1.  Wild Elderberries. - Now I've heard of people making Elderberry Wine but I've never tried it.

Found this website with several recipes to use Elderberries with.  Maybe I should give them a try sometime.  http://www.twineagles.org/elderberry-recipes.html

2.  Spotted this while out on a drive one afternoon:

Zebra or Horse or perhaps Zeborse!  Also there seems to be a photo bomber peeking over the top of this critter.

3.  Last weeks 52 Frame shot (Texture - was the theme)  - This is Eliza a handmade doll that Coleen made all by herself.  She's such a creative person.  I hesitate to call her a child anymore since she's 13 now.

This weeks theme was (Beautiful Chaos) and here is the photo I used:

4.  Another view of wheat fields after harvest.  That machine looks so tiny but I was high up on Scenic Loop shooting down into the valley.

5.  Creepy Crawly....This weeks Black and White Shot.

Featured Cat of the week:  Ghost  -  Isn't he a handsome cat.

Willy-Nilly Friday Five and Feline Friday - May 11, 2018

Hello & Welcome - I took a couple of weeks off from blogging to recoop from everything that has been going on.  - Thanks for sticking with me & for all your support.

Joining Tom (The Backroads Traveller) for WILLY-NILLY FRIDAY FIVE

1.  I was on my mom's porch the other day watering her flowers when I happened to see something that you usually don't see in town. - I hurried to the car where I knew my camera was and managed to get off a couple of quick shots before it was too late.  So what did I see?.....

This gal and her horse were just out for a little stroll down the sidewalks of town.

2.  There are "aliens" among us...

Coleen being "goofy" - For those interested her leg is healing nicely and she is getting around much better on her crutches.

3.  Took a drive up to Bennington Lake the other day to see if they had filled it with water yet (they drain most of the water during the winter).  Sure enough people were out fishing.  This guy is fishing off one of those little paddle boats.

4.  Spring is in full bloom now.  I though my Azaleas looked so pretty and colorful that I just had to share them.  The Yellow one is new as my old yellow one died this past winter so I had to replace it.

 5.  The "Buffet" was open this morning...

I enjoy seeing what shows up after I leave the food out. - It's raining here today (again) but warmer weather is expected back soon.

Also joining FELINE FRIDAY (Comedy Plus)

Caught this sweet shot of Coleen and her cat, Pepper taking a nap together the other day.

Leaving you with a musical selection to start your Mother's Day weekend off.

Happy Mother's Day to all mothers out there & for those who's mother's have passed on may you cherish her memory & know that she's still with you in spirit.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday - March 15, 2015

Welcome! - Gosh it's been quite some time since I've participated in Ashley's (Ramblings and Photos) meme,
SCAVENGER HUNT SUNDAY and I've missed it.

This week I just happened to have managed to find all the prompts:  Time, On My Plate, Animal, Negative Space and Photographer's choice.

TIME:  You get 2 photo's for this prompt as I couldn't decide which one to use.

This clock tower on the Whitman College Campus gives you a 4-way look at what time it is as there is a clock on all 4 sides of the tower.

It's "Nap Time" for Eric the Cat.

ON MY PLATE:  - Let's make that Coleen's Plate

We had Tuna Burgers and baked potatoes for dinner the other night.  She turned hers into an "Alligator."  She makes food a lot of fun.

ANIMAL:

This squirrel was watching me putting out peanuts and bird seed very patiently the other morning.  I was so close I could have reached out and touched him.

NEGATIVE SPACE:

I really like how the "negative" space in this shot draws your eye towards that pretty open bloom.

PHOTOGRAPHERS CHOICE:

I took Coleen to the annual WWCC (Walla Walla Community College) Cowboy Breakfast and Kid's Rodeo today.  After breakfast we wandered through the horse barns and I snapped some pictures.  I took a few in Black and White and this one is my favorite.

I hope you've enjoyed the hunt and will check out the other participants.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday - October 12, 2014

It's time to join Ashley (Ramblings and Photos) for
SCAVENGER HUNT SUNDAY

This weeks prompts were:
Details, Friend, Comfort, Above and New.

This week was a bit challenging for sure.

DETAILS:

I just like all the "details"  in this shot from the color of the leaves and grass to the texture of them and the sidewalk.

FRIEND:

I managed to snap one quick (but not great) shot of this girl and her horse coming down the trail at Bennington Lake.  I'm sure they are truly "friends" with each other.

COMFORT:  This was a toughie.

Our cat Dottie likes to pet herself - She is not bathing here.  She'll lay on the floor and rub her paw on her face and roll around and purr.  It's really cute to watch her.  We think she finds "comfort" in doing this.

ABOVE:  I heard some honking the other day and just happened to have my camera in hand.  As I looked up this was what was "above" me.

NEW:   Every year I like to add something "new" to my Halloween or Christmas decorations.  The crow is new this year.

So that's it for this weeks hunt.  I hope you enjoyed it.  Don't forget to check out the other participants.

In case you want to join in on the fun.  Here are the prompts Ashley has listed for next weeks hunt.

Book, Mail, Star, Saturated and Wall.
