Willy Nilly Friday Five - March 15, 2019

Hello & Welcome!

Many thanks to everyone who commented on my last post about our sweet Caramel.  She is doing very well and you would never know that she even went through such an ordeal.

So today I'm joining Tom (The Backroads Traveller) for:
WILLY NILLY FRIDAY FIVE.

1.  A couple of (Snow) what a four letter word that became in February and into the first couple of weeks of  March.   Both of these shots were used for the 52 Frames project I participate in.

This one was for: City at Night.  There was no way I was going out at night in this to get a photo so I took this looking down the street I live on.

This one was for:  Negative Space.  I tried to find some humor in all that snow.

2.  Okay more winter stuff...sorry but that's about all we've seen around here for the last 2 months.

Robins in February (a little early for spring) enjoying Hawthorne Berries.

Ice formation - I like the colors in this shot and the abstract look of the frozen water.

3.  A winter sky with Geese.

4.  Something more colorful:

One section of a large mural in the cafeteria at the Middle School Coleen attends.

5.  One more snow shot:  Someone had some fun with the white stuff.  We think this is a (horse?)

Finally a dose of cuteness:  Gidget enjoying yesterday's sunshine.

Waiting for the arrival of Spring next week (and my birthday) I leave you with:

                                       Have a beautiful weekend.

Friday Fun - September 25, 2015

Happy Friday!

It's time for some random Friday thoughts - (aka)
WILLY-NILLY FRIDAY FIVE  hosted by Tanya from Around Roanoke.

1. One of my favorite things in fall is when the stores get those really nifty looking decorative gourds in stock.  I was out at Klicker's store the other day and lookie what I found:

Aren't they colorful and fun! - These probably aren't the type of gourds that you could use for Gourd Art but check out this link to see what fantastic things people do with Gourds.  Talk about talented.

2.  Last night was the Carnival for the kids at the school Coleen attends.  One of her favorite things to do is to try and "dunk" her teachers in the Dunk Tank.  I just love watching the expressions on her face as she prepares to throw the ball.

Unfortunately this year she didn't hit the target once to dunk anyone but she still had fun trying.

3.  We stopped at our city park the other day to take some pictures and I just loved how pretty these flowers were.  It's still good to see flowers blooming even though we are heading into Fall now.

4. Coleen and I stopped at the library last week to check out some books.  Outside the library they have a couple of murals painted on some buildings.  We really liked this one.

One of the books I checked out was: Murder Simply Brewed by Vannetta Chapman. - It's a good, clean murder mystery that I'm really enjoying.

5.  So have you ever ordered Pizza On-Line? - I have and yes I've actually had some problems with ordering it that way.  Anyway this commercial is for Little Ceasers Pizza and cracks me up because it reminds me of our house even though we don't have "that" many cats.

Joining Steve with FELINE FRIDAY as well.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Of course you I can't end the day without sharing a cat photo so here's one for your enjoyment.

Bandit and Pepper taking a snooze together.  Look how they are draped off of the chair.  You'd think their necks would be sore from laying that way but they don't seem to have a care in the world.

So here's the "artistic" version for FELINE ART:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I haven't participated in awhile with Hilary for FOLLOW FRIDAY FOR FILL-IN FUN so I thought I'd join in today.

Here are the statements:

The statements:
  1. Birthdays are ______________________
  2. I am ___________, but I wish I was _________.
  3. ____ is my favorite ______.
  4. ________ is the best brand of __________.

Here are my answers:

1.  Birthdays are going by to quickly anymore.  The older you get the faster they seem to come.

2.  I am rushed lately, but I wish I was able to be more relaxed.

3.  Bridge Over Troubled Water is my favorite song of all time.

4. Celestial Seasonings is the best brand of Herbal Teas.

That's if for this week.  Hope you've enjoyed your stay here.  Have a great weekend.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday - October 19, 2014

Welcome.  I hope you've all had a great week.  Let's finish it up by having a great hunt with Ashley (Ramblings and Photos) for SCAVENGER HUNT SUNDAY.

This weeks prompts were:  Book, Mail, Star, Saturated, and Wall.

BOOK:

I knew I didn't want just any shot of a book for this prompt so I drove the 17 miles needed to snap this little book reading frog at the Public Libray in Milton-Freewater, OR.  Isn't she cute.

MAIL:

Our cat, Snickers provied the perfect "mail" shot the other day when she hopped inside this box that was laying on the floor.  Would you like to receive this in a package?  (If you hate cats feel free to not answer).

STAR:  -  I think he pretty much was a "Star."  -  Elvis lives on.

This mural is actually pained on a stone wall so I could have used it for both prompts.

Saturated:  So I looked this up to make sure I had the right idea.

sat•u•rat•ed (ˈsætʃ əˌreɪ tɪd)

adj.

2. thoroughly soaked with moisture; wet.
3. (of colors) of maximum chroma or purity; free from admixture of white.

So I'm actually sharing photo's for both definitions:

The fountain on Whitman campus is certainly "saturated" with moisture and overflowing.

I'd say these Oak leaves are "saturated" with color, wouldn't you?

WALL:  Here again you'll be getting a bonus photo.

This stone wall is a few blocks away from our house but I just love it.  It makes a great backdrop for taking photos and I like the design of it too.

So remember the Elvis wall above....this is also painted on a section of that wall along with another picture of Elvis which I didn't post this time.

So that's it for my part of the hunt.  Be sure to check out Ashley's blog and the other participants.  If you want to join in next week here are the prompts:

1. Paint
2. Pumpkin
3. Family
4. Looking Cute
5. Photographer’s Choice

6 Word Fridays and 5 Random Photos

Happy Friday!  - Remember to Click to Enlarge Photos for better detail.

Joining in with Adrienne (My Memory Art) for SIX WORD FRIDAYS and once again showcasing 5 Random Photos (never seen on my blog) with Quotes I found to go with them.

The word for this week was Move (or in my interpretation, Movement.)

First up for 6 Word Fridays (boy was it hard to find a 6 word quote dealing with Movement) - You'll notice this is the only photo with a 6 word quote but I've also include 6 Word Descriptions for the other photos.

Spotted this cat, running swiftly past
Sunday morning, what a mad dash.

Piercing Green Eyes, Melting one's soul
Thoughts Ever Hidden, Always in control.

Enchanting flowering bush, oh so colorful
Giving Pleasure to all who view.

Artistic Mural, Painted on a Wall,
Sounds of music, I now recall.

Something silly to make you laugh
Carpet Cleaning really can be fun.

(Just a word of explanation on that last photo.  I was spraying carpet cleaning foam to get out some spots and when I looked the spray had formed this silly face.  I just had to take a picture of it.)

Now for those Random Photos & Quotes:

Coleen enjoying pretending she's a bull-rider on the park statue.

The large duck advertising the Ducky Derby.  It sits on top of the bank.  I took this shot through some trees at a parking lot about a block two blocks away from the bank.

Part of a mural painted on the back of a building that we spotted one day while out and about.  I'll share more of the mural sometime in the future.

Just some neat looking hanging seed pods on a tree I spotted one morning walking Coleen to school.

The neighbors cat, Eric enjoying the morning sunshine.  Time not wasted indeed.

Have a safe & happy Memorial Day Weekend to those in the US and to everyone else just have a great weekend as well.
